I used SuperSU for the example because it includes a local setting; is there a way to change Samsung Default Theme (and therefore ugly) to Google Default Theme with root, but without ROMming?
I will post pics when I get link permission.
You can install a launcher like Apex Launcher for a more stock Android appearance. Its also much more customizable.

I am using CM 7 with Matted Blues, but matted blues only themes the default apps icons. I am wondering two things:
1: How to extract those icons from matted blues so I can use GO launcher to set different apps (like dolphin browser, GO SMS PRO) to use the themed icons.
2: I also want to create my own icons, why file format, size, etc do they have to be in? And how do I get GO Launcher to read the icons for me to use them?
Thanks!
not exactly what u need but u could download the "launchepricons" app from the market it might help u out a little bit (works perfect on go launcher ex)
Try to ask a go launcher dev
Send from my Nokia 1110 ''Flashlight'' Edition
never mind...disregard.
Using a custom launcher this can be done.
You can use Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher and then change your icons manually - no automatic changing of all icons. This way you keep the ICS look and feel
You could use ADW, LauncherPro or Go Launcher EX which support themes so you could change all icons at once and you can also find plenty of themes around. You lose the ICS look and feel on the other hand...
There ale also some other apps that only change your icons but here too you'd have to do it manually.
So, until some launcher comes along that is based on ICS and supports themes, these are about all the options you have.

hmm, ok. thanks
I apologize if this is not in the correct section.
I have a T3 d5106 that is rooted but the bootloader cannot be unlocked.
Is there a way to apply or install a dark theme to apps too? I prefer a black background with white text for the settings, dialler, email, messaging, etc.? I have installed nova launcher and go launcher. Both launchers will theme the icons and wallpaper but don't apply a dark theme to apps.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
Im interested in a dark theme too, but I dont know how
There are some darks apps that can be used in place of the standard apps included with the T3 but that is too much of a hassle for me.
Hello everybody!
I just want to know how the LG G4 themes work? I havent bought the phone yet, but Im considering it. Do the themes apply to the for example messaging app as well as the home screen? Also, are there any material design/stock android themes yet? Should I rather buy the S6 if I want that?
use nova launcher or google now launcher
I always prefer / run Nova on all my Android devices.
As others have stated, if you really want to get the most out of your device as far as customizing how it looks/acts you will ALWAYS be best off with downloading a 3rd party launcher.
I would also suggest Nova (though I prefer Prime since again it gives that many more features and will allow me to setup a gesture shortcut for tap-to-sleep) or Next Launcher 3D (Just started using this one the other day but so far I really dig it)

The LG G4 themes are pretty weak. You can't grab a theme or an icon pack from the Play Store and apply it, you have to get the themes from LG Smartworld, which is LG's own private app store for LG devices.
There are a few themes there, but they're mostly half-as$ed. 20 to 30 icons only and a couple of wallpapers, they don't give you enough.
Like everyone said, you can download a launcher from the Play Store like Nova. This will allow you to customize close to anything and apply icon packs with thousands of customized icons.
I wouldn't go as far as buying the S6 for that reason, not even close. You can expect the theme manager there will still not give you what you can get from Nova or any other launcher from the Play Store.
The LG themes change the icons and the wallpapers. Some include LG keyboard themes as well.
If you want the authentic messaging look and feel then you can download the actual Google messaging app from the app store. The LG themes does include lollipop material design. Google now launcher is authentic lollipop launcher. There is nova launcher which is the most popular. The moonshine icon pack can be downloaded from the play store and applied with nova launcher. That's as authentic looking as you'll get.
I have Android 4.4.2 stock on my rooted S4 Mini and have been playing with Touchwiz launcher. The Easy Home version does exactly what I want with the exception that I can't find a way to change what apps are on the Home Screen. Is there a way to edit / change the default apps? I'm happy to delve into the filesystem if needed, but have no real idea where to look. Maybe there's an updated or altered APK that I can use?
Thanks
