how to install watch faces - Moto 360

read though all the forums and cant find the answer , hope to find some help here , I see all these face er or face watch designs , how or where do i load the zips to to get them on my watch ? thanks in advance ...

I was in the same boat not too long ago. Let me try to make this simple.
1. You need to buy Facer.
2. Look around the forums and find face zip files of faces you like.
3. Create a folder on your desktop like facer and inside this place your downloaded zip files.
4. Now for each downloaded zip, eg. tagHeuer1.zip, create a new folder in the Facer folder you already have, called TagHeuer, and now extract the corresponding zip file into this new folder. There will be three or four files including a png file.
Read 4. again if you don't understand it, until you do. Very important.
5. Now hook up your phone via USB and place these individual folders of various faces (not the zip files) into the facer folder on your phone (will be there if you bought facer and installed it)
6. Open apps in your settings menu on the phone, find facer and force stop it. Close everything and restart facer on your phone. You will see the faces there under your faces. Touch one to select, and in the upper right top of the screen you will see an icon to upload it to your Moto.
7. On the Moto, in he settings menu, select change watch face and select facer. Select the face you just uploaded and there you have it.

Theme On The fly Think Tank

Just wanted to create a Post so people can bounce ideas off each other as to what would be necessary to change themes on the fly. How does a normal phone change themes?
i just have a folder on my SD card called themes and i update it everyday with everytheme and the latest version of each, the themes folder has all my themes separated into adp1 adp1.1 rc30 and rc33 and i use linda file manager to move them to the root and rename them. i can flash any theme anytime i want. and if a new one comes out while i'm not near a computer i download with steel and try it out.this is the best way as far as i can see, at least with the tools i have access too
anyone seen the iphone emulator? it actually works where it will open a program associated with the icon, could that possibly help get a way to theme similar to how summerboard works?

That's not even close to being a theme though.
A proper theme is more than just smoe icons.
IE. iKid has a much nicer looking media player.
i use the exact same method w the themes on sdcard... i take it one step further... i use andftp to upload to my qctx.org server and upload directly tested themes... so i can access and organize however i need

Walkthrough for creating your own Android theme
First you need to get signing setup properly. This topic is covered in many places and my recommendation is to use the Stericson walkthrough or the Stericson auto-signing setup tool. Once you can click on any zip or apk file and get the option to Resign it you are ready to proceed with making your own theme.
1. Download an archive manager that allows you to open archives inside of archives without creating new windows. My recommendation for this is the application 7-zip. It is tiny, free, easy to use, and on all my computers it has replaced winzip and winrar.
2. Now take a blank theme from Stericson to use as your starting point, this will be the minimum needed to change your theme and will contain all the original artwork.
3. Open the update.zip and inside are typically 3 files, framework, system or app, and META-INF. Leave META-INF alone, you wont be touching that. Inside framework and system/app is where the files are that you can change. In this case we will open update.zip, then double click framework and then double click framework-res.apk (this is where the next archive will open inside the same window, your life just got a little easier).
4. Now you are looking at assets, META-INF, res, and a couple other random files, the resources.arsc can be edited but I will show you that in another tutorial. Now open up the folder res and you will see the treasure we are searching for, folders with the name drawable. All of the folders that start with the name drawable are where we can edit the themes, this includes drawable, drawable-land, drawable-port, and drawable-finger.
5. Now drag and drop the folders drawable and drawable-land onto the desktop. Once they are on the desktop you can edit the .png files in those folders until you are ready to put your theme together.
6. Now in your still open window at \framework\framework-res.apk\res\ you will open the drawable folders one at a time and drag and drop your edited files into the archive, only dragging and dropping the files you edited and not just everything inside the folder.
7. Once you have your new images copied into the archive in the correct place you can just hit the close button or browse up a couple directories and find other files to edit. Any time you edit an apk and browse out of it or close it you will be prompted to update it in the archive by 7-zip (this is my secret shortcut), always press ok.
8. Now you have a freshly created theme ready to install, all you have to do is right click, chose to Resign the file, and once its done you can copy it to your SDcard, make sure its named update.zip, and flash your new theme.
Its literally that easy! And you use this same technique in the system/app folder to edit the apk files for the individual apps on the phone. Explore around in the update.zip and see what you can find, I only told you about the major items but there is plenty more to find and change. You can always copy a folder out of the archive and if you cant edit anything just toss it but if you can find something to edit, do so and throw it back in the archive. You guys now have all the info I had when I started plus all my tricks to making that process 10x easier.

The thing with the iPhone is that the applications are just folders with a .app extension at the end. This allows one to easily replace resources inside of them using just simple scripts.
In Android, the applications are zip files with an extension of .apk and must be signed. This makes it harder to replace resources on the fly.
I use the Discover App from the MarketPlace. I have a folder called Themes in my SD Card which I have separate folders labeled with the name of the theme. Inside the folder I have the update.zip. With discover I just move the update zips in and out of the folders to change themes.

possible to attach multiple files at once to an email?

Am I missing something, or is the process for adding email attachments just horrible?
Just now, I'm specifically trying to email a few photos at a time.
If I try and do it from File Explorer - when you highlight more than one file, the "Send" option in the menu isn't available.
If I try and use Total Commander, the only option is to send via IR.
If I try and do it from within the 'compose email' screen:
a) if I try Insert -> Picture, I can't select mutiple files. And it takes me to the devices "My Pictures" folder every time and all my images are stored on storage card, so it's a real hassle having to go back and forth.
b) if I try Insert -> File, it takes me to this HORRIBLE "Open" page which seems to be attempting (and FAILING!) to show all the files on my device in one window. And even then, you STILL can't select multiple files.
Is there any way to do this?
(Very weird - and annoying - for a business device to fail so badly at something like this. Unless I'm missing something!!)
Thanks, M
To the best of my knowledge, you are doing everything right. I don't think there's a way to select multiple files to attach all in one go.
What I normally do if I want to attach multiple files, I use Resco Explorer to compress the files into a zip. Then I attach the single zip file instead.
Thanks ohyeahar. I'd thought of that - and may still use this method at points - but there are times when it'd be good to use single files as well. (e.g. uploading photos to facebook, they have to be single jpg files)
Just seems terrible that such a basic functionality is left out.

In Resco explorer if you slide your finger over the icons, it makes multi-selection. Just if you missed it.

Photo gallery

How I can organize picture in "Photo" gallery?
If you want separate albums: this can be done, but not from the Photo app itself.
For this you can best use an android File Manager, e.g. Astro.
First create a folder "Photos" inside /sdcard, and then one or more album folders inside Photos. Name them whatever you want!
Then use Astro to move files into the new folders. Go to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA and find them Then activate "Multi File"-mode using the Multi button. Next, select multiple files by short-pressing on them one by one, and when you are done choose Edit -> Move. Now navigate to the target folder, and do Edit -> Paste. Repeat for the next album!
You might also do this from your PC, with the phone connected as a USB drive. But I believe the Gallery app needs Image thumbnails to work, which ARE created when Astro does the moving, and which ARE NOT created when you use your PC + USB to move them.
Good luck with it!

[FONTS] Android (APK Files)

Hey Guys! This thread is actually a question of me finding APK fonts for android. And now, I found a thread which offer a lot fonts to choose and I want it to share with you all. So here it is.
It usually for Stock ROMs (and for Fellas who love customizing) .
Just download the attached file, extract it and you will find APKs.
Put it on your SD card and install it like a normal APK file. Then Navigate your Settings>Display>Fonts. From there, you can apply and see Fonts you just installed.

If anybody is still refering to this thread.. the fonts that droidtwoseven has provided are super easy to install on any android device.
So instructions here are very straightforward actually
1. All you need to do is simply tap the .zip folder at the top of the feed here, labeled "FlipFontsALL.zip" This will initiate it's download.
2. a) Once downloaded, either press the "download complete" notification you would receive as a pop up located at the top of your screen or you'll find it in your pull-down notification task bar.
2. b) Or if you accidentally swipe the notification away, you can open your devices files manager, and navigate to your phone's "internal storage". Inside your devices Internal storage you should see a folder labeled as "Downloads", go a head and tap on it, to proceed inside the folder to view it's contents.
3. Once inside your "Downloads" folder, depending on how organised you keep your internal files, there may be a list of files and/or folders you need to scroll past, but somewhere inside this folder you should find (hopefully with not much difficulties) the very .zip folder you had just download here. (Remember it will be labeled as "FlipFontsALL.zip")
4. a) Now, long press on (tap & hold) this folder to bring up the extra options available for the particular folder. Or another method to bring up the extra available options for that .zip folder, simply just press it once to highlight it, and as it's highlighted, the press the "more" button, which will be shown either as a 3 horizontal/ hamburger looking menu or possibly a 3 vertical dot menu.
4. b) Upon opening the extra options menu, If you do not see any option that says "extract", then possibly you will need to install another files manager from the Galaxy store or the play store. One that has the option to extract or compress files into .zip folders.
4. B) i)) The files manager I personally use, is not the default application that comes pre installed on my samsung, but I actually prefer to use "File Manager" by "File Manager Plus/Aphainventor". It is easy to install and is available via the Google PlayStore. Other recommended files manager apps are: CX File Explorer, RS File Manager and Simple File Manager Explorer.
5. Once you proceed to tap "extract" in the .zip folder, your phone should then prompt you and ask where you wish the files to be extracted to. Usually you can chose to just "extract here", in which it should create a folder of the same name inside the current Downloads folder you are currently in, and extract the contents inside of it. (So in our case it would create a regular folder labeled FlipFontsALL. Or you can chose the option to extract the files elsewhere I'm your internal storage.
6. a) Once these files are finally extracted, navigate your way inside the new folder that was created, and you will find there to be a bunch of files, all using the ".apk" file extension. (The file extension is the part of the title for a file that is after the "."/"dot".
6. a) i)) An example for an image file would be "exampleimage.jpg" or maybe even as "exampleimage.png". An example video file would be ~ examplevideo.mp4 or examplevideo.webm.
6. a) i)) So, in our case, these particular fonts have actually been compiled individually as executable android packages. This is actually what APK stands for (android package) So all of our fonts that you extracted from the FlipFontsALL.zip folder, all use the ".apk" file extension. This is similar to a .iso file you may find using an apple device, or a .exe file that is used by Windows computers. These are all known as executable files, and each are recognized only by their particularly owned operating system, and cannot be read by another (android cannot read or install .exe files or .iso files, neither can an iPhone/apple device read a .apk or .exe file, same with windows, it will not recognize .iso or .apk files, as they are unsupported.
7. a) So now that you have access to the .APK don't files, this is the easiest step. All you have to do is pick whichever one you want, and simply double press the file. Your android device will automatically initiate to install it, and if the files have been coded accordingly to your devices OS, and is written for your devices type processors. You'll be asked if you would like to proceed with installing the files, simply just chose yes and sit back as you let your phone do the rest of the work.
7. b) One thing you may have to do in order to authenticate your device to install the APK, is give the files manager you are using the permissions to install. You can easily do this by navigating into your device settings, scroll to your phone's options for "security/biometrics", them find the option labeled as "install from unknown sources" or "install unknown apps". Once in this menu, scroll until you find your devices files manager, or the files manager you chose to install from the PlayStore, and just tap on the toggle to enable it.
8. After the installation has completed and it comes up saying "success", you should then be able to navigate into your devices display settings, where you'll find a heading labeled "fonts" or "fonts sizes and style". In this menu go into fonts style, and amongst the list of default fonts that came ore installed with your device, you should now see the font you chose to install from the .apk file.
And that's all. I know it seems like I wrote a lot, but I just was making sure I covered everything, as detailed as I could, in the case that someone who may be unfamiliar with the layout of an android, needs the thorough direction. I'm always happy to help another android user. As I believe in order to take better care of your own safety and privacy, it is very important to understand your device and it's available options and accessibilities of ensuring so.
These .apk fonts are absolutely great. Especially because they get around the Samsung block. For example, I have a Galaxy S8, and seemingly, the only available methods to download custom fonts are to either install the few mediocre fonts available to the Galaxy store, or to spend money and purchase some of the other custom fonts via the Galaxy store. So if you own a Samsung, running Android 9 or above, unfortunately you cannot install your own custom fonts using any of the font installers obtainable through the play store. You simply just cannot. Samsung will not allow it. Since the update of android 9, they've implemented various blockades to prevent any 3rd party installation of .ttf or .otf fonts. Where as these .apks use a direct installation method as if they are an application of their own.

UCCW Import Help

So i wanted to finally try uccw after hearing so much about it. I dont know how to use the app to make my own themes it looks so complicated. But I found a couple that I like on the web. I downloaded the file and need help importing it. I unzipped the downloaded file and inside it has 4 files: one is a true type font file, second is a uccw file, and the last two are png images. My question is where do these go?
So far after reading around the web I know to put .uzip files in the uccw folder on my sd card.
I put the uccw file into the uccw folder but dont know where to put the font , and png files. i tried placing them all in that folder but when i go to import from the app it doesnt show anything..
Could someone please explain where to put these files and correctly import them? This is all new territory to me,
Bump. Anyone?

I found out that uccw file goes in the uccw folder. The font goes in a fonts folder on the sd card. But where do the png image files go? I have a image_fonts folder inside the uccw folder so I put them there for now. When I open the app I still can't get it to import the skin. However when I use the widget the skin is there. But it's not displayed properly. It's not using the png files I don't think. And there is also an ugly logo.
Here is a pic of what I mean

This what my uccw folder looks like and all of them work properly. You see a folder with the same name as the uzip file under each uzip, the .PNG or picture is in that folder. The weather icons are in a folder named weather. This app definitely has a bit of a learning curve but is pretty cool once you get the hang of it. Hope this helps and good luck!
okay ill try making a folder of the skin and putting the png files in there. But the files I have are uccw files not uzip files. I think its from an older version.
I hope I understand your question correctly. You should be able to import the uzip files directly into UCCW. In the app, press menu, select 'import skins,' navigate to where you have the skins (uzip files) stored, then select that file. UCCW should load everything up, placing all the files within the uzip file in the appropriate directories, and, voilà, you can now use the skin of your choice. Hope this helps. Good luck.

True, basically don't unzip or do anything with the .uzip file. And if I remember right, you can import the file from wherever you downloaded it to. It really is a cool app once you get used to it. With hotspots and all it has become my all in one widget basically. Good luck with the import, just remember, the app does the work. I'm still trying to build my own, that is taking some time to learn. I'm not sure if you know of this, but here's a spot where there are lots of premade files. They are throughout but there are some great ones in there.

Enjoy.
Thanks for all the help guys appreciate it.

ok i don't know where you guys see the import option but in the latest version is missing
Just restored my phone, but UCCW will not let me import any of my saved files. There isn't even an 'Import' selection when I use the 'New' button...what's up? The file I want to import is already on my phone, as a .uccw...
Most frustrating...had a few brief moments where I could create my own by getting my images from Photos, but that stopped working, too...
