Since barely anyone has the phone, no one will be able to answer your question. I believe that in a YT video from Clove, they said that it could work. The pins have the same distance between them, but the thickness is different.
I'm actually wondering if the Z1c dock might be better. We're already hearing people complain that the Z3c won't fit in the Z3c dock with a case on. The Z1c dock is designed for a phone 0.9mm thicker, so there should be plenty of room and the case should rectify the issues Clove had.

Dk31 works just fine, no issues here at all.
So people with cases on their Z3C are recommending the DK31 over the DK30 or DK32? Are any of the knock-offs any decent?
B&H has an authentic one for only $25 with free shipping, which seems to be the way to go on this, unless other people know of cheaper places to purchase it?

To avoid any misunderstanding I need to clarify that my previous statement is only without case.
I just grabbed a DK36 from the Sony Store
Fits like a glove with no case pull out insert , fits with case

If you are adding tempered glass protectors for the Z3C, which will probably bump the thickness to about that of the Z1C (9.5mm), then yeah I'll suggest giving the older DK31 with the wider insert a try too...
So, my DK31 arrived today for my Z3C. It works well with either the Terrapin case or the Roxfit Premium case, when using no insert -- neither the thin nor thick insert work. That said, it's not perfect fit with either case, so you may want to put some felt or something inside it to make it so that the phone doesn't wobble around inside.
How well does it fit with no case?
Get DK32
I just got my DK32 dock and it works perfectly.
First I bought DK48, but all 4 slots were too narrow to fit in my phone, which covered with a crystal clear hard case and front glass film.
Then I returned DK48 and bought DK32 instead. This time I proved myself right. It's the one!
So my suggestion for those who need a dock for recharging: pick DK32 over DK48 if you don't use your phone naked. And I also don't think using without a case is a good choice as several users here reported broken front/back glass.
FYI, DK32 slot width.
- Narrow one: 10.0 mm
- Wide one: 10.7 mm
That's a useful post, it would be helpful to know what the thickness of all these docks are (I never knew there were so many) I know my DK48 on any insert doesn't fit a gel type case (Terrapin) & I had to use a bit of foam, it's not ideal though. I estimate the case to be around 10mm thick.
DK30
DK31
DK32: Narrow: 10.0mm Wide: 10.7mm
DK36
DK48
OK I've taken a chance and ordered the DK32, hopefully one of these inserts will work without further modding the dock with my Terrapin case.
The DK48 is fine for a bare Z3c but unless you've got a really thin case, the other inserts don't work.
Well the DK32 arrived just now & its looking very much like the dock units are all the same... only the inserts are different. annnd the inserts on this one don't fit my terrapin cased z3c any better, so if you need an insert for a thicker case, you need something just a bit wider than the largest insert on the DK32. Still using the DK48 with some foam to make it fit loosely.
It's a shame you can't just buy the inserts separately from Sony as the DK32 & DK48 seem to be exactly the same apart from the inserts.
I am hesitating between DK 31/32, i will use in either way, no case and with case (thin crystal case)
What would be the best dock for my use?
thanks

Can you give any measurements?
I would probably use without case but adding Rhino front and rear tempered (or any brand who will release it)
either with thin case (crystal case for now)
Still a room when using without case?
It might be the one if we can use either with case or without case
Hello there,
i got a DK48 station and i really hate this thing. I want to give it to a friend who just got himself the Z1c. Now i saw that the Z1c is 9,5mm while the Z3c is 8,6mm thick, while the slot of the DK48 itself is 15.7mm.
Can someone please measure the slot widht of the DK32 please? Maybe my friend can get an insert that is compatible to both the slot of the DK48 AND the width of it's phone..
Best regards,

I am planning to get a car dock and possibly a standard dock for my phone, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any cases that will work with the dock. I don't really want to have to take the case off every time I dock it.
I'm using the incipio feather case with the car dock. It works fine as long as you dont put the insert in the dock itself. You do have to press it down firmly when you put it in the dock to get the car home app to pop up. But it works just fine. I just got the dock yesterday and I LOVE IT. First car dock I've ever owned. Pretty sweet
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
That's good news about the Feather. I didn't order a car dock yet, but I'm considering one. I'm hoping to see more feedback on cases that work with the docks.
I wonder if anyone has tried a dock with the Body Glove Mirage?
I just picked up the Speck case. I may not keep it, depending on if it works with the car and/or the regular charge dock. Doesn't seem to work too well with the MM dock. The opening for the USB/HDMI ports doesn't seem to be quite big enough for them to seat properly. If the tolerances are as close with the other docks, I may shave off about a 1/2 mm so that I can get it to seat. Looks great, tho :/ I think what I'm looking for is something between the feather and the speck.
I picked up both the standard dock, the car dock and the body glove case. I love the case and it works great with the car dock if you take out the removable insert that I think they designed just for this purpose. The problem I'm having is the phone will not dock tightly enough with the standard dock. I may try the suggestion of shaving some of because I think that may fix it.
I'll post back with my shaving results.
Would love to know if someone found an easy to remove case that works with the standard dock
Body glove case works perfectly with the car dock. No issues here. Feels good on the phone and in hand. Highly recommended.

Incipio feather doesn't work with the standard desktop dock:-( but at least the case is easy to remove unlike the speck case...

Also using the Bodyglove case. The latch on the car-dock will not completely close. I've put calls into Motorola and ATT. No one seems to be able to point me in the direction of a case that would not interefere with the car-dock's latch.
One concern is that undue stress is put on the micro USB receptacle on the phone because the phone is not completely secured in the dock. Bumps in the road, acceleration / deceleration causes imperceptible back and fourth motion that would ultimately mess something up.
Motorola certainly made the doc for using cases on the phone, else they'd not have included the base "to use if your phone does not have a case".
One workaround, is to glue a horizontal pin (2-3 mm diameter) parallel to where the latch makes contact.
Does the Incipio Feather case work with the Lapdock? Thx.

I have both laptop dock, HD dock. Just purchased the 2 silicone cases from here in Canada from futureshop. its the only cases in stock before the phone was released today. when i got home I was praying that the laptop dock would work with the phone while the silicone case was on (taking it on and off is a pain) cannot post pics SORRY. confirming laptop dock works with silicone case on with a very easy removal of plastic part.
For the HD Dock it was a NO GO had to remove case.
EDIT: hd dock does have removeable clip aswell. Dont know how i didnt see that. Gel silicone case works with hd dock. Confirmed! !
hope this helps you guys that like the silicone cases like I do.
I've debated the LapDock myself. Even the HD Dock just for using my wireless USB Keyboard and Mouse. I have an Otterbox Defender though.
Far as the car dock and standard dock, I don't plan on getting those. I have shortcuts to use those apps without the docks. Have a hands free stand for the car that holds it perfectly with the case and modified my clip case for the Otterbox to use it as a stand as well and be able to plug the charging cable into it while it's in use.
In case anyone wonders what I had to mod the clip case, the Desk Dock clock does not rotate with the screen and to have it correct, the charging port on the phone is on the bottom of the case in the cradle. Otterbox does however include markings in the cradle to cut out for this though (very nice), just had to extend on side a tiny bit to accommodate the larger USB end so it fit snug without putting pressure on the port by pushing it sideways any.
I picked up a Lapdock today. I can confirm that the Lapdock does work with the Incipio Feather case (have to make sure that the two connectors are snugly fit into the Lapdock cradle (adapter/ fit plate removed). See here for details (PDF): Link.

The case showed up today from the eBay seller and I have to say I'm quite pleased.
It's fairly sturdy, holds the tablet snugly in place with a velcro strap, has perfectly aligned openings for the camera, charging port, headphone jack etc., has all the other features of an iPad case like folding up to incline for typing or watching movies and when closed it's held shut with hidden magnets.
I've put all the pictures I took of the case into an album for those of you who are looking for a case.

Nice, thank you so much for the amazing pictures.
So when it's shut down it doesn't open up by mistake? The magnets attach to the tablet itself?
It's certainly the best price for this type of case.... now I am torn between this one and the official book sleeve case (which is $ 60!)

No, when it's closed it stays shut and is very solid. The magnets are in the edges of the flap that closes and in the part that covers the bezel of the tablet (right where the front-facing camera is).
Because of how sleek and light the GT10.1 is I didn't want a case that would add too much bulk like the ones I've seen for the XOOM. As long as it holds together this case fits the bill perfectly and I don't see myself replacing it

I've been using mine for a week now and I'm quite happy with it, especially for the price I paid.
When using it as a stand, it's not the most stable unless you arrange it so that you're viewing it "upside-down" but it'd be fine as long as it's on a stable surface.
Weight?
Do you have the specs on the weight of this case? I want one that is *really* *really* light to go with the low weight of the gtab
This a nice find. I will definitely keep this in mind.

I currently have the belkin slim folio case but I find very hard to insert and take the tab out because the case is very tight and its material generates too much friction.
Is it hard to insert and take the tab out from this case?

Also, it has to be unfolded to be charged correct?
Hm... this looks like a nice case for carrying the tab around. I actually got a soft gel (TPU) case just to be able to throw the tablet around at home since I already have a screen protector. And I like how it's texturized on the sides for better grip.

I guess there could be third-party docks that can fit the GN with a case on. Just need to make the fit loose enough and have long pogo pins.

Right now I have an otterbox but recently I've been taking my phone out of my case and it cuts the size in half. What options are out there for a case that won't bulk up my phone?

I bought the original samsung ones: http://www.mobimega.com/samsung-efc...iginal-slim-case-twin-pack-for-galaxy-s3.html
there are 2 slim cases in the package (it's transparent, maybe a bit white). Costed me about 8€ for 2 cases. It's good, the only thing that bothers me is the place around micro USB port. If you have bulky cable or charger, the case prevents to plug it in to USB fully, and it's easier to slip out. But works. Really, no big deal.

Personally I really like the Spigen Ultra Thin Air series cases. They really add almost no thickness to the phone at all. However, I should mention they don't fully protect the top and bottom rims of the phone. If you're looking for a bit more protection, the Cruzerlite Androidified cases are pretty nice and very affordable.
The DBA thin grip is a good thin case that comes in 5 colors.

If the DBA ultra is a 2 part case the 1st layer is TPU and the outer layer is PC.

I'm using a case-mate slim folio case which works great with the DK31. You have to open the front flap and flip it backwards, but it works fine.

Just received this clear case today. Shipping takes a while, since it's coming from Hong Kong to the US, but it was worth it. The case lets me show off the gorgeous design of the phone, and still allows me to use the DK31 charging dock. Allows access to the microUSB port, dock connector, and all hard buttons.
Really like it so far.

That's weird. When I look for a review of the case you linked in there I find this review on youTube where the reviewer clearly shows that this case is not compatibele with the Magnetic Charging dock.
Did you maybe post a link to the wrong case?

That is the correct case. It was charging in my dock a few hours ago. The dock pins are exposed and accessible through the case.
EDIT: I looked back at the listing. It shows the dock connector being covered up in the listing, but the one they sent me isn't covered up. I'm guessing they just changed the mold on it to fix that.

I have the Krusell Colorcover for the Xperia Z1. Fits perfectly in the dock. Fit and finish are sublime.
