Sir, I need Serious Help for Rooting my HTC Desire 616 dual sim
I tried various other method for rooting, starting from its driver installation but failed with all,
even the ADB driver installer couldn't show up it, inspite of being connected to the computer
and even the HTC sync manager is not detecting the phone. I m really in need of this rooting with this phone.
please give me the detail procedure cause i m a learner, and I will be very Thankful for it.
My Handset information is given brelow (if required):
1) Model Name: HTC Desire 616 dual sim
2) Android Version: 4.2.2
3) Baseband Version: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V21.P30, 2014/05/16 1740
5) Kernel No.: 3.4.39
6) Build No. :1.00.708.005
7) Hardware Version: M10
Open the link and download the android app. Install it and then open it. I know it's in Chinese but it's ver easy. You can see the big round button with root written on it. Just press it and wait for the loading g to complete. That's it. You will notice that king user has also been installed. You can replace king user with su from the play store if u want. Hope this helps

Root HTC Desire 616 dual sim
hi
you can root this phone with Root Genius or Kingo Root programs
Get root genius apk. It's in Chinese but don't worry it's really simple to use, just install
1. Switch data connection on
2. Open root app
3. and there will be a green button tap that
4. Wait for awhile till a big circle pops. Tap that
5. Then android will ask you to install an app. Tap cancel as this app maybe spam. But I don't know I cancelled it
6. Then wait till the process is over
7. Check if you have king user on your app drawer
8. If you have it. Congratulations you got root access
Optional. If you want to delete kinguser and switch to super user
1. Download su
2. Download titanium backup
3. Install su and give root permission
4. Tap Install binary with normal
5. Install titanium backup and uninstall kinguser
.... if you get any problem root again with root genius you'll get king user back

Thnx sir but those links were not useful, the music download link denies to get access I mean it's not getting to download and other apps such as cam and gallery can't be installed
Plz are there any other links sir. Or any better music player with greater sound output, as you know our phone doesn't has a good output not even in headphones..
For better sound output download" engineer mode mtk" from the play store and edit audio Max value to 145

Stuck on logo
Sir, i had rooted my HTC 616 with correctly and without problem. But after i costumized font with iFont by diiyun, my device just stuck on logo. I've try to wipe chache and factory reset but no change after reboot.
If you guys will help me kindly, I'll very very very regret.

in htc website they have given this procedure. It worked for me.
1.Remove the battery, wait for a few seconds, then reinsert the battery.
2.Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
3.Wait for the screen that allows you to choose the boot mode to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button and the POWER button.
4.Press the VOLUME DOWN button to select Recovery mode, and then press the VOLUME UP button.
5.On the screen with the Android image, press the VOLUME DOWN button to select wipe data/factory reset, and then press the POWER button.
6.Press the VOLUME DOWN button to select Yes--delete all user data, and then press the POWER button. A message appears when the data has been wiped.
7.Remove the battery, wait for a few seconds, then reinsert the battery.

Please do not post any information that you have not tried! This is a Fake link that take the user to a survey page and that's it! There is nowhere else to go! Android Kitkat (4.4.x) or Lollipop (5.X) updates are not yet released for this phone, Officially or Unofficially.
Please wait till they are announced officially via HTC or on XDA by some developer.

Hi! I hope you can help me, I'm having some problems with my htc desire and I don't know what to do...
The device is rooted and I have miui running on it. The problem is that all the phisical buttons have become almost unusable, as I need to press them about 10-20 times so they work. The only usable button is the lock button at the top.
I was thinking about installing an ICS rom, so I could use nexus-style touch buttons. It will take a lot of screen space but at least the phone won't be unusable.
The problem is that I'm unable to install any rom. I can't access recovery. I've tried manually (which will never work because I can't hold the down volume button). and through a rom manager, butwhen I try to reset into recovery it just keeps rebooting at the htc logo until I take off the battery.
I've tried also reinstalling the clockwork recovery (different versions) through rom manager., but no luck.
How can I flash a custom rom (anyone with ICS touch buttons will do) with this problem? Or, is there an alternative solution?
Have you tried pushing a new recovery via adb?
http://4ext.net/
download 4ext recovery updater app and install it, then flash recovery from within the app. 4ext is touch screen. then u need to use adb to boot into recovery. the command is - adb reboot recovery
also u could try button saviour from the market

Well, that's the reason why my Desire got official 2.3 update today and it's going to Telenor tomorrow. Buttons are still usable but they are dying slowly, and I have 4 more months of warranty, so why don't give it a try.
I ported a rom for the Nokia X, after flashing the ROM, the system starts succefully. But the sdcard can't be recoginized and I got a note to format the sdcard. So I clicked the button and "format the sdcard". After I restart the system. The system can't stat up again. When I plugin in the battery and press the Power button, I can feel the phone just vibrated as nomal. But after that the screen just shows black. There is no "NOKIA" logo shows out. I also can't use the volume and power key to make the phone boot into bootloader or recovery mode. So I think I may have formated the bootloader partion. Any body help? I may be the firt one to make nokia x truely bricked!:crying:

You, u know the first one. me :good:
In my case was trying to downgrade the bootloader from the v11.1.1 update and voila! Could be repair with Qualcomm QPST, but there is no leak or new version that support Nokia X (secure boot 3.0) so my version 2,7 Build 366 cant repair our phone yet.
At least here in Spain there is no support from Nokia Care until may-june so u have a stone until them :victory:

Thans for you reply!
The nokia care suit can only woks on the downlaod(use the power button and volume down button) mode. But now my phone can't get into download mode. So it can't recovery my phone. QPST will be a good way, but I can't get the bootloader firmware data.

Just go into recovery and flash a previous backup. Ur nokia logo is showing so recovery probably works. If you dont have a backup use nokia care suite and flash a new firmware.

Go to the x2 thread. If there is a custom recovery for your phone backup using that. If its not avialable you have to wait for a dev to create a recovery.

This is what i did for my device :::
because of over anxiety I killed my device.........
it was stuck at boot screen, not able to switch it off.... tried all possibilities...
option 1
I have to wait till the battery gets drained, i dint have the patience to do this... ( since battery is 100% full )
option 2
I carefully opened the back panel of my device ( only the portion from camera till the middle segment )
down the middle of the pannel is pasted tight to battery,
Saw the battery cable attached to the M.board, with a help of a needle, i removed the attachment and powered down the device...
once again with the help of needle reattached the cable and closed the back pannel safely.....
rebooted the device to cwm recovery.......
Installed the cwm image from this temporarily " http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2780507 "
this helped me to regain the device, and was able to use it good... it has all the apps in it.........
it is English..... ( but originally developed from open source chinese variant.... )
I am waiting for the Stock Rom release................ and after that I will reflash my device.........
step 2 ::::::
I found out a friend from this forum jithu, who has the same model, version and regional device and asked him to give device cwm or twarp backup.....
so i can clone my device from a same regional device backup.... after restore.... i will do a factory reset....
so my mobile will be all new.....................

Do a full factory reset in your custom recovery or in advanced wipe options wipe your system, data, dalvik and cache then rerun your stock nandroid backup and it should restore. When your coming from a custom rom back to a stock rom your want to have as much of your phone wiped and repartitioned as possible. Don't wipe your internal storage though unless you just want to.
Oops didn't catch the "accidentally" part but the advice stays the same. Are you trying to get back to stock or are you trying to get back to custom rom?

You need to use the NEWER ClockworkMod that is in the CM11 main/first post. Its actually an newer version than the one that's in the .exe and in the CWM thread.

If you installed the largest GAPPS package available for CM/AOK/SP this will happen. This ROM works just as well with the core 4.4.2/4 GAPPS as well and will give more space available.

Yes there is an app called Rashr that can flash recoveries. And I think he means now the phone can charge while in recovery mode. Not sure though.

To hard reset/force power off the device it is volume up+power for 15 seconds. That'll get your device turned off and you can boot back up.

not RECEIVING mms messages
I can send mms messages but not receive them. Running the 10/18 build with xposed, but it didn't work before xposed either. Tried fiddling with apn settings but nothing fixed it. Thoughts/help/fixes?

You need to flash the APN fix, then the MMS fix.

Where can I find those?
So this ROM states it supports all models, but I had an issue. When I flashed the nightly zip, I get an error 7 saying it is not compatible with my model. It claims my model is htc_a5dug (my phone is the Virgin Mobile model) while it only supports plain a5_dug. Any ideas? Oh I'm running newest available CWM if that's any difference..

The Virgin Mobile model is a5chl. And I'm assuming it's because you didn't use the recovery in the OP. Try to use that recovery then flash it, however I recommend you just use the Official CM11 as it works with any recovery.
a little off topic here

Hello Everyone,
After long hours of research I am finally posting this for the ones who have HTC Desire 310 dual sim.
The first guide is to root your phone :
Basically we have 2 methods of rooting :
Method 1 : [Using iRoot App]
(i) This was the method adopted by me and will work 100%. It is the easiest method to root.
(ii) First of all download iRoot.apk from the below link.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/t8q3j578anzn8g9/iroot.apk
(iii) Now install this app on your HTC desire 310.
(iv) When the app opens up you could see a "ROOT Now" Button.Press that and within a few seconds your device will be Rooted.
(v) It will install a superuser application Kinguser on your device.
Hurrah! You have rooted your device.
Now if you want to replace Kinguser with supersu continue reading else move to second method of rooting.........
1. Download and install terminal emulator from the link provided below........Also download the zip file the link of which is given just below terminal emulator......
http://www.mediafire.com/download/w6ghis16ma4neh5/Terminal_Emulator.apk
http://www.mediafire.com/download/u9ymfaaj9oycbuq/Replace_VRoot_With_SuperSU.rar
2. Open the zip file you downloaded and extract the folder "mrw" to the root of your sdcard.
3. Open terminal emulator and type:
"su "
to grant root access.
>> Type:
sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh (Be careful of the path you give should be the exact path of extracted folder).
You phone should automatically reboot after the process.
That's all. You have just successfully replaced kinguser with SuperSU. If supersu asks to update binary plz do so......
If Kinguser is still there then don't worry..
Just uninstall it manually and if it's system app, use root unistaller.
Method 2 : [By Connecting to PC and using one click root tools]
The next method is to connect your device to your PC and then Root.
Follow the below steps :
(i) First of all enable USB Debugging on your Device [Settings > Developers Options]
(For those who cannot see developers options in Settings have to go to "About Phone" and tap on "Build Number" 7 times)
(ii) Now connect your phone to your pc via usb cable.
For proper installation of adb drivers download the following software.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/m7ovx8y9la4ljni/Adb_Driver_Installer.exe
(iii) Open this and install the drivers for your device.
(iv) Now follow the below link and download Root Genius :
http://www.shuame.com/en/root/
(v) Open it and click on root and your Device will be rooted.
Now if you want to install Clockworkmod recovery v6 on your device then follow the below steps :
Caution : Very Important : Please have a look at your build number before installing this CWM recovery.
(i) Go to Settings -> About Phone and Scroll Down on the build number section.
(ii) Those having build number 1.03.708.12 or similar to this may proceed installing the recovery.
(iii) Those having build number 1.00.411.7 SHOULD NOT INSTALL THE RECOVERY AT ALL OTHERWISE YOU WILL SUFFER A BOOTLOOP.
(iv) Those having build number other than this may contact me either by posting on the forum or by pm me before installing CWM.
This recovery is for both, the DUAL SIM as well as the SINGLE SIM MODEL.
(i) Download the clockworkmod recovery from the below link.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/a20274ql4ptk84c/Clockworkmod+Recovery+HTC+Desire+310+Dual+Sim.img
(ii) Rename the downloaded file to "recovery" and place it on yor external sd card.
(iii) Now download "Rashr Flash tool" from play store.
(iv) Open the app and click on Flash recovery.
(v) Now search for the recovery file that you placed in your sd card.
(vi) Select the file. Hurrah you have installed CWM Recovery on your device too.
(vii) You can also watch the following video by me to get step by step tutorial on installing CWM Recovery.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSXEuDwKjT4
You can check by powering off your phone and the pressing the power and vol up button together. You will surely get the CWM recovery menu.
ATTENTION : Please donot try all these methods if your are new to these terminologies. First read and understand about the consequences of rooting and then move forward.
Those who want the stock rom, here's the link to it......
http://www.needrom.com/download/htc-d310w/
Follow the steps given there to install the stock Rom.
This forum has been started for this device only.
If you have any questions regarding this device you are most welcome to post here.
If you have any links for Custom ROMS for the device you can post the links in this Forum.
Please feel free to contact me or PM me.
PLEASE HIT THANKS IF I HELPED
Need help!
Hey man..my first post here.
Anyways, so I tried your method.
I already had a rooted Desire 310 dual sim.
However,I flashed the .img using Flashify because Rashr flash tool was giving some error.
Now I have a big problem..the phone is stuck at a boot loop..I cannot go into recovery mode..neither the PC not ADB is recognizing my device.
I understand that no one is responsible for this and that I took the risk..but would really appreciate any help.
What are my options.
Thank you
Seriously man you have done a silly mistake. My only advice to you is to try to flash the stock recovery, the link of which is given in my post by connecting to pc.
Hope it will help you.

Hey man,
I have got a solution to your problem. Just follow the below steps.
1. Firstly if you have installed the recovery via flashify then remove the battery of your phone and reinsert it. Now hold the power and volume up button together.
2. This will reboot your phone into Custom Recovery Mode.
3. Next, take the following steps using the Recovery Options:
– Wipe data/Factory reset
– Wipe cache partition
– Go to Advance and Wipe dalvik cache
4. Head over to main menu and Reboot your phone using the option Reboot phone using the Recovery Option.
Done.
You've fixed the bootloop. Good luck.
If I helped please press thanks.

Hi
Hi ishan,
sorry if i bother you, but i don't wanna have a brick phone. Your Tutorial seems to be too simple rather than the other on the HTC Desire 310 main post. Are you really sure that this is the method? Is a normal flashing?
Are you able to make a small video demonstrating the method and the working CWM, please?
Thanks a Lot
@ Ishan16, Thanks for your replies man and for trying to help me out with solutions.
However, I was not able to go into the recovery at all hence, factory/hard reset was not possible.
I tried all possible methods to unbrick my phone but to no avail.
I tried to flash the stock rom via SP flash tool but that didn't work either.I don't think Odin will help ,cause I can't go into download mode.I had taken backup of my stock rom as well via MTK droid tools but couldn't flash that as well.
And as I had posted above neither PC would recognize my phone in Windows Explorer nor ADB tool.
I can't post outside links until I reach 10 posts or would have posted the error I got on SP flash tool.
Finally, I have given my phone for JTAG service.
Anyways I appreciate your help bro..don't know what went wrong, not sure if it was the Flashify tool.
Cheers.
Dhiraj
Hi,
I would like to get the Stock HTC desire 310 firmware (India version). As my phone is not booting up though I have done hard reset. But still it remains in HTC screen for long time and never boot up.If someone can help me to get the stock FM and step by step to flash it, I would be very much thankful.
Hi,
It's very sad to inform you that if you don't have root access and have not installed cwm, you cannot do anything with the firmware since your phone is not starting up. The only advice to you is to send it for service centre if it is in warranty.
Hope it might help.

Well for your assurance I have provided the video tutorial in the post for installing CWM recovery which works without any error.
The only thing you need is to follow step by step procedure and use only RASHR flash tool for flashing.
Hope this might help you.

Thanks a lot. So if I follow those simple steps I won't brick my phone? I've got the single SIM version but I don't think it will change something. Am I wrong ?
NO
I'm sorry to inform you that this method bricked my device. I followed all steps but it hard bricked like other methods. I had to restore everything, taking me 5 hours to revive my phone. To avoid other users' brick, please remove this post. It can do lots of damage for users who can't reflash stock firmware
There is a major difference between single and dual SIM HTC DESIRE 310. I clearly mentioned that this guide is for the dual SIM model. If you can't read properly please do not blame me and misguide the forum. Just because of your stupid assumption that single SIM HTC DESIRE 310 will have the same recovery as that of dual SIM you bricked your phone. I have clearly demonstrated in the video how to install CWM and after that I don't suffer a brick at all. Please stop misguiding others and search somewhere else for your device.
Thanks.

Hey CALM THE F**K DOWN
Hey calm down, I didn't say that your guide is fake, I only said that you must specify more that this is ONLY for dual sim, and if you thought it was good for both, to remove it to avoid other bricks. Because many people thought that it was for THE htc desire 310, as nobody think that there are heavy differences between single and dual type of any android phone, and nobody discovered it.
So don't insult me, you are rude. You were wrong, admit it. You must specify:
THIS IS ONLY FOR HTC DESIRE 310 DUAL SIM VERSION
Before calling me rude please have a look at the Title of the post. It is clearly mentioned HTC DESIRE 310 DUAL SIM. And in future before blaming others please have your eyes wide open and read exactly what is written.
Thanks

Dude I think you have bricked your phone too..I had to wait 2 weeks and spend 3.5k to replace the entire motherboard..
I don't think we can install custom Rom or recovery on our phone as of yet.
Good luck unbricking your phone.

The ROM provided can only be flashed via custom recovery like cwm.
But not to worry..... I have a solution for you. Move forward to the stock recovery mode.
When in the stock recovery mode follow the steps below :
– Wipe data/Factory reset
– Wipe cache partition
– Go to Advance and Wipe dalvik cache
4. Head over to main menu and Reboot your phone using the option Reboot phone using the Recovery Option.
Done.
You've fixed the bootloop. Good luck.
