Good afternoon to all connoisseurs and Android entangled world.
I have a serious problem that I would like everyone.
I comment my case: has always given me good to change the ROM, rooting and general mess on Android devices, after use many terminals and taking advantage I'm in USA for work I decided to buy a Nexus 7 2nd edition. (The best purchase of my life). All went well for a few weeks, I install CM to the latest version, all automatic updates were done and went like a shot.
But after that I got to mess with it one day I was bored, enter the Alpha blackmart and install a program that updated the kernel, the program in question is called Franco.kernel.updater. In theory this would set me the latest kernel developer Franco and my Android device would be more configurable, faster and give me more battery life.
Well here comes the problem, since the release and upgrade the Kernel the tablet has not power on. I've tried everything I see on the forums: press power for 9999 seconds, button combinations, open the back cover and remove the battery, jump + kick + the joystick crescent ... (this last one is a joke), but NOTHING! can not get my tablet for signs of life.
This is my story, I hope someone can help me with my tablet, at least to me and then we turn life seeketh forum to restore all factory. Thank you very much in advance and congratulations on this forum that has been with us many years.

Hello,
I am sorry to hear that your Nexus 7 will no longer power on. You listed that you have tried button combinations, have you tried entering Bootloader by holding the Power button and the Volume down buttons? Typically if you have a bad flash you will still be able to enter Bootloader.
You can also try the following steps as well:
1. Charge the tablet from a wall outlet for one hour > Unplug your Nexus 7 > plug your Nexus 7 back in within 10 seconds > Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
2. Connect your Nexus device to a computer’s USB port while the computer is on. > After 10-15 minutes, disconnect the USB cable from your Nexus device and reconnect it within 10 seconds. > After 1 minute, check to see if a battery icon appears on the screen. > Press & hold the Power button for at least 15 seconds to see if your device turns on.
3. Press & hold the Volume down button. At the same time, press & hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds until you see an Android robot and the word Start on the screen. > Press the Volume down button until the screen shows the option to Power off. Press the Power button to select that option. > Disconnect the charger and reconnect it within 10 seconds. A battery icon should appear on your screen. > Once the battery icon appears on the screen, allow your device to charge for at least 1 hour before turning it back on.
I hope one of the steps listed above helps you power on your Nexus 7. Please feel free to contact me for further assistance by emailing me at [email protected]. As a reference please include the case # N140933878 in the subject line. I am here to assist with all of your ASUS needs.

How long do you generally have to press the power button when powering on the N7 (not rooted, running 4.4.2) ? Sometimes it will power up if I press it a few seconds, release, and then wait for the Google logo to appear, but i often find that nothing happens (don't get a the Google logo to come on after waiting ) unless I keep pressing the power button in for almost 30 seconds until the logo appears and then release it. Once it powers up it seems to run just fine.
Is this a problem? Is there a fix? I've cleared the cache but that doesn't seem to make much difference. Also, no problems if I just hold the power button until it shuts itself off (not using the power off prompt) and keep holding it a few seconds after it powers down to automatically reboot (I read this tip here and assume it is OK to do?). This problem just seems to appear when I power up after shutting it down for a day or two.
Also, I've read suggestions in other threads, not about this issue, that talk about starting up in Safe Mode. How is this done and why would i do it?
You said N7 did you mean N5? N5 vibrates after a couple seconds for me that's when I let go.

1: Have tablet and the 2.1 amp charger with you.
2: Do not connect the charger to the device or wall socket.
3: Without charger, press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
4. Just in case, if device starts to turn on, release power button. It normally won't on this step.
5. Then connect the charger to the tablet first and then into a working wall socket. No power-stripe, or extension cords. Wall Socket only.
6: Don't press any buttons on the tablet. Within 60 seconds the battery indicator light should come on.
7: If you see the battery charging indicator light, leave tablet connected for at least 3 minutes before trying to boot the tablet on.
8: Now after 3 minutes of charging, press and hold the power button for 60 seconds or until device starts to boot on.
9: Normally it takes about 15 seconds holding the power button but it could take up to 60 but not likely.
10: As soon as the device starts turning on release the power button immediately. Device should boot into Android OS.
11: If you notice that your Tablet is still not keeping a charge or starts turning itself off, a factory reset should been done.
12: Remember to make sure you sync your accounts and backup data if you choose too.
13: Then Go to settings and backup and reset and Make Sure you uncheck the Automatic Restore Box.
14: If the issue that is causing the power issues is within an app then you will just restore that issue back on to your device.
15: Then tap factory reset, reset device and ok to delete all data.
This should help you out tremendously.
I have been using the original Samsung stock rom on my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4. Today, I rooted it and installed CM11 Nightly. Everything went smoothly and I was able boot into the CM after flashing it and I use the power button to restart the device. Then I installed "Reboot Menu Widget ROOT" from Google Play so that I don't need to press the physical power button. But after installing it, I launched it and select the reboot option, the device went power off and I can no longer power it on. I pressed the power button, but no use. I tried to enter recovery or download mode, but no possible. I believe the battery has not run out yet. But I put it in charger for now. There is no light showing it is charging.
Did I completely brick the device and is there any possibility to power it on? I appreciate your advice very much!!!!
Just plug in your charger, then press the power button and keep holding it pressed for at least thirty seconds, or until it powers on
Thank you

Thanks for the effective tip.
Hi,
I've looked around for days but haven't found a solution to my problem:
I was browsing on my Nexus 7 2013 when it suddenly turned off completely.
Since then, there is no indication that it is alive other than the computer chiming when the tablet is plugged to it.
About the tablet:
1.5 years old
Had >50% charge at the time
Ran CyanogenMod with KitKat for about 3 weeks
Things I've tried:
Charging for more than 5 hours, with two different chargers and cables
Pressing power button for 30 seconds
Pressing power + volume up buttons for 30 seconds
Pressing power + volume down buttons for 30 seconds
Pressing power + volume up + volume down buttons for 30 seconds
The above four items, right after plugging in the USB cable
Unplugging and re-plugging the battery (cracked the cover corners a little, sigh)
If I press any buttons long enough while tablet is connected to a PC, the PC chimes twice as if in recognition that the device was dis- and re-connected.
As I've run out of ideas, any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
... I take it no answer means I'm screwed?
Hi. So after a long wait I got my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML today. The first thing I did was turning it on and it turned on normally, then I proceeded to make the initial setup (logging into google account, etc) without any problems. Then after about 10 minutes of use the phone suddenly turned off with the battery being at around 35% and didn't want to turn on again. I read that old firmware (like the one that comes default with the phone) had battery display errors so I thought the phone had run out of battery, so I charged it for 8 full hours and I unplugged it now. To my surprise the phone is not turning on either. The only way I can make the screen show something is by connecting it to the charger, it vibrates and displays a white battery icon, eventually changing to fully green (fully charged battery, the green led indicator also appears) only to disappear like 3 seconds after. Can't turn the phone on while charged and can't even make the phone show the battery icon again (unless I unplug and plug again, repeating the cycle). So, what can I do to turn it on?
Thanks in advance.

I have a feeling that you did not hold the power button long enough. Disconnect the charger first, and wait for about 10 seconds. Then, hold the power button for at least 6 seconds. The phone should then vibrate and then you may release the power button. Other reasons why your phone may not seem to be turning on at all might be due to the back cover not being fully locked in, thus not making any contact with the power on the motherboard itself.
Do report back the results.

I did. Doesn't work. I also removed the back cover and pressed the power button with nails with no results either. Personally I think there's something to do with the power button as it doesn't even responds while charging (pressing it should display the battery icon) and the only time I could use the phone it didn't work to wake up the phone or setting it to sleep, only double tapping worked. What is strange is that it worked the first time I turned on the phone though.
Are you able to get into FastBoot mode? If so please try performing a hardware reset including wipe cache partition. Please see the following:

I got that several times when connecting my phone to the PC. I removed the back plate and disconnected the battery, after reconnecting phone booted up.
