Has there been any attempt to port over the windows phone build's on other HTC M8's running windows phone yet? Any success? If there has been I'm thinking about jumping to a M8 tonight, I have grown rather fond of Windows phone after using my buddys 1020 for the past week.
No luck and it doesn't look good for the close future. there is a thread about this over in the main htc area.

I think our beloved devices have reached the end of their lifespan as far as promotion and sales go. after the 2.3.3 from htc we are considered redundant.
At we have the awesome devs here at xda

This is really sad... Why did they removed from the HTC Official Website...
HTC Desire is now becoming a collector's item ..heheee

This makes me want to think twice before buying the Sensation... I don't want my phone to be history after 1-2 years
I'm curious as to why everyone is so willing to use HTC dev to unlock their bootloader as opposed to wait/find for third-party solutions that don't compromise your rights to solid hardware?

Because I can't wait and so far I have no problem with Htc Centre for warranty claims for both my One V and there is no problem yet for my One X to send in to Htc Centre.
Boredem?
Like anything if you change your suspension on a car it invalidates some warranty . I did it because I wanted to enjoy my new one x. Y wait if something is already there.

This way is a fair contract between HTC and the user. That´s why i prefer HTC Dev. I know about the risks. If one rom damages my device, i have to take responsibility, like for all, i´ve decided in my life. I won´t hide me behind a bush
I unlocked with htcdev because my phones insured, if anything goes wrong I'll just make a claim saying I've lost it

Well, why not right? They already gave us one free step which can also be reverted.
Typed with XDA Premium on OneX
I have a constant need to mod every thing I own.

Because my phone is from 3UK, so was only one choice to use HTC Dev and I unlocked bootloader. For me it was very easy and simple task.
Hi all.
So I recently upgraded from an HTC Inc S to my shiny new One X. I bought an unlimited license for HTC Locations Navigation on my Inc S as I use navigation very often for work etc.
Yesterday I emailed [email protected] with my old and new IMEI numbers thinking that a perpetual license should be transferable to a new device. Well, that turned out to be wrong. Naieve of me to think so looking back.
They replied this morning saying that's "not possible". Bulls**t, not possible... I get their reasons, just think it's a bit greedy.
Just thought I'd let people know if they were considering a perpetual license that it's non-transferable.

it is , or at least was between several dhds that i had, i haven't got round to it for one x yet, but if they refuse ill be going after refund!
Did you try writing to htc to see if they will help?

Licence transfer is done by HTC support. Just contact them, they transferd mine (licence from a HTC Desire running a custom Rom) to my new One X without problems.

Agree with kdsone above. I transferred my perpetual licence from my DHD, through two One S' and again on to my current One X. Drop an email to HTC through their website support. Took about 48 hours to all go through from memory.

Oh, awesome! I went direct to Route 66 but will give HTC a try. Thanks for replies people.

Similar experience. I brought my device for servicing and the board was changed due to some defects and caused a change if IMEI. route66 was not being helpful and htc support immediately took action when I sent them a "complain" email..

Last month we heard that the HTC One X and One S handsets were about to get the jump to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Well those in Singapore and Taiwan did indeed get the update, while others elsewhere were forced to wait. But now it's reached HTC One X handsets globally. So good news if you've been twiddling your thumbs, wondering where it is.
I checked my Htc One X T-mobile UK... "There are no updates available for your phone"
Any idea when the Jelly Bean update is coming for the HTC One X T-mobile UK?

Tmobile is the UK's biggest provider, but unfortunately the worst at updates (always last)
I have a tmobile branded handset and it would be great if tmobile surprised us all, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
My guess is, based on their track record, we won't get it until the new year

I read somwewhere on here that branded orange received the hox jb ota, considering both orange and T-Mobile merged into EE its pretty dam poor that t-Mobile is dragging its heels.
To be honest I'm vexed with the whole fiasco of vendor vs carriers.
I have fond memories of my hd2 where none of the above mattered, just flash away and not loose warranty.

This is the trouble with these kind of upgrades hardly anything to it..where as pure Android devices you notice...well and stuff works.

I will out definitely be purchasing one of these little beauties. As I deliberately abstained from the One, waiting for the M8
However, I do have a question; is it worth waiting a few months for manufacturing to iron out any issues before buying ?
Hardware or board revisions tend to change or is this not an issue with HTC anymore ?
Cheers

every device/company improves manufacturing as the device ages.
Ultimately its your decision to make.
Thanks, I will wait a few months I think on my poor old one X.

Playing the waiting game on technology is always a tough call, and in the end there is always something better coming so it is just a matter of picking the time when you are ready and the device suits you. If you wait a couple months to buy the M8 there will be news of the Note 4, LG G3, iPhone 6, and possibly some new HTC's (mini/max).
Personally I go with the early order straight from AT&T, if I have any issues I walk in to a store and exchange it no biggie.
