[Q] Flashing back to stock? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, can anyone point me in the right direction for flashing this phone back to stock? I have the Sprint LS990 version. I've already been to this thread found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089 but neither of these options would work for me. If anyone know of a better or different way to get back to stock other than whats in the thread I listed Id appreciate it greatly.
Also if you have used the above thread and succefully returned to stock would anyone be willing to briefly try and help me figure out that Im doing wrong? Thanks much for any and all information and help.

[Q] Need to know if I can restore to Virgin Mobile stock

I have looked around a bit, and cannot seem to find an answer to my question.
I need to restore to Virgin Mobile (US) stock on my Wildfire S, and my genius self did not back up my ROM before installing a completely incompatible one a while back. I am running SimonsStock, but I really need to to be legit stock if at all possible. Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Theres a RUU file floating around somewhere. Ill try to find it and post a link for you. It takes my right back to stock each time I bork something up. It should be in one of the simonsense threads.
you would be my hero

[Q] Picking up the G3 Tomorrow (D852) How does one root and install TWRP on d852?

i can't seem to find much info on root/recovery for g3. i found a little bit about bump and stump.... saying that twrp is possible but not much hard reliable facts on the topic.
Can someone who knows what they are talking about or knows a link to someone who knows what they're talking about help me get informed?
Basically i just want to know the procedure, how reliable it is (what are the chances of bricking the device), and any other relevant info that may be available. Any help is greatly appreciated and i'll be looking forward to developing some themes for this phone .
Thanks,
KS
*edit* also wondering if anyone has tried backing up a rooted version of the stock rom and restoring it. Does this work? Or do you have to flash kdz to return to stock after trying out some custom roms?
follow this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5T7By2Zqvk (you can skip the parts on installing the rom)
