I believe that's the wakelock caused by data dormancy. Go into the hidden menu through the dialer (ex. Mine is 3845#*850#) then settings then towards the bottom you'll see fastdormancy. Enable it reboot phone. Then go into that menu again and disable it. This made that wakelock better for me.

[Q] Home button

Anyone else noticing lag on the home button after 4.3? I have noticed when I try the home button and close out a program, it takes two or three taps to get it to register. It seems to be a RAM related issue as it reacts better when I do clear ram. I am wondering if anyone else has this issue. Mods - if this needs stuck in another thread please move it freely. I just didn't know if a new thread was warranted or not for it.

May seem dumb but where in 4.3 is the s-voice disabled? I can't find the setting for the life of me!

Open svoice app in app drawer. ...change setting there
Thanks, I completely forgot as I had svoice disabled in 4.1. I don't even use it. Its all google now for me.
I was having the same issue and disabled the S-Voice option. I just did the change in the s-voice settings but so far it seems to be pretty responsive.
For anyone interested there is a TON of info on this but essentially double tap the home button to open S-voice (or navigate to it in the app drawer). Hit the menu button (lower left of the phone). Select settings, untick the "Open via the Home Key" option.

Turn off knock on?

Hi guys, does anyone know how to turn off knock on on the G3? Tried looking for it in gestures settings like in the G2 but can't seem to find it. The g3 keeps waking while in my pocket making it feels constantly warm. Anyone else experiencing this? I don't mind just using the button at the back to wake it. The placement for the button is quite comfortable actually.
I'm sorry to hear this is a problem on the g3, I have this problem on the double tap to wake code on my Nexus 5 and so I just turned it off. I know for the galaxy 2, sorry g2, voice dictation, they released firmware fix for this I think

Can you tell me how you did the wake code on the nexus 5?
And to the op, isn't there a setting in the screen gestures section of the phone to turn it off?
You can turn it off in the hidden system settings menu
Dial 3845#*855# to access it.

It is the very last setting in the list, just scroll all the way down to the bottom.
If you have the Korean model replace the 855 with 400
I turned this feature off as it will save battery life too as it needs to keep the screen driver awake happy using the back button.

855 opens my hidden menu. But I still can figure out which option to choose after scrolling down to the bottom. The screen shot shows my menu. Could u let me know which option should I be disabling?

we don't have that functionality by default, it's patched into custom kernels and eats 2-3% battery per hour (another reason I turn it off)
Just so you know, I had issues with Knock On unlocking my phone in my pocket so I turned it upside down and the issue is 100% gone !
I think it's due to the light sensor not being 100% in the dark then the taps on the lap unlocked the phone. When it's upside down the light sensor is kept in the dark
I just can't find that setting... Ive looked everywhere. My phone is rooted with towelroot. Is that the problem?

Is it really the light sensor? I think the proximity sensor would make more sense in this case! Otherwise you wouldn't be able to use the knock on feature in the darkness...
Screen wakes in my pocket whichever way up I put it in and I don't want to have the screen face outwards. This is very annoying and didn't happen on my G2 - The screen is clearly very sensitive. I don't want to turn off knock on and I don't really like knock code.

Same here. Upside up or Upside down makes no difference for me. Display from body away seems to be the only real solution...
Looks like a few of u are experiencing the same problem. I have been facing the screen away from me as a solution but it feels so awkward when I m so used to have the screen face in. And I can't find the hidden settings to turn knock on off. They really hid very well I guess.

[Q] Touchscreen unresponsive waking up from standby

Is this happening to anyone else?
The power button and volume buttons work but the screen is entirely unresponsive. The only remedy is to remove the battery. It has happened three times but not predictably enough to reproduce.
The phone is rooted with IORoot and I'm running Xposed, G3Tweaksbox with quite a few of the theming options enabled (inc. status bar and lockscreen contents). I also disabled the Knock feature through the hidden settings. I'm completely aware that customization might be the cause, but curious if anyone else has had similar symptoms or knows of relevant bugs.
Happens to me as well, D855 version. It happens once a day but i can unfreeze it, i keep tapping the screen and pressing randomly power and volume buttons. It unfreezes after 5-6 seconds but it's by no means a FIX. This should not happen on a new phone and i'm thinking of selling mine and buying some other model by a different manufacturer.
No combination of screen presses for any amount of time gets it working. It's happening 4-5 times a day and is only resolved by taking out the battery.
I tried the method from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792580 but my firmware version did not change.
It only happen to me if I disable the Knock feature..Try to activate the knock feature and see if it helped
Thanks, @bollefinn. Enabling Knock does seem to resolve the problem. Of course, it creates new problems with the phone turning on in pockets, but that's of less concern.

Random Default Notification

Every minute or so my Note 5's default sound notification (dew drops is what I have it set to) goes off. It started happening yesterday. I can't figure out what is triggering it, nothing shows up in the status bar after hearing the notification. I believe I had the phone in my pocket and may have turned on something in settings by mistake? Any ideas what could be causing this? It's super annoying but I don't want to make the default notification silent all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine started to do that also. I shut off Google now notifications and it quit. Not sure if that was the issue but it helped

I had this problem and another member found the solution for me it's simple...

Set that to OFF

I haven't used it, since it doesn't bother me too much, but I've read that this will solve the issue:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cynyx.vibrafix&hl=nl
Edit:
Might solve that issue. I read that it can definitely help with fingerprint unlock vibration. I'm not completely sure of the options available in the app.
