After rooting I can't send a MMS while on wifi. My APNs are correctly defined. When i turn of wifi it works like a charm. Any Ideas?
Thx.
Tried deleting the username in the MMS APN and now it works with wifi on too. STRANGE!
Anybody has any idea what's the cause of this erratic behaviour?
Only worked once, not working anymore

I have this problem too........but I had the problem before rooting too.
I didn't have it before rooting. I specifically tried yesterday sending a MMS while on WiFi and it worked. Today on a rooted phone it's a no go.
It's strange that it went trough once, with no username. Doesn't make any sense to me...
What network you on? I have my unrooted desire on T-Mobile UK and cannot send MMS. In testing and trouble shooting with T-mobile I have only sent 3 successfully out of at least 50!!
I have spoken with my local T-Mobile shop and they tell me a large number of customers have been complaining about MMS send failures (even thought they seem to send).
I have put message notification on for MMS and they all end up status pending. I can however receive MMS and send to myself with no problems.
Anyone else seen similar problems?
My carrier is Mobitel, Slovenia.
Can anybody confirm that after rooting his MMS is still working while connected to wifi networks?
T-Mobile desire
I rooted (cant be sure if this problem was not present before tho),
found i had problems with mms, some would occasionally get through (using handcent) although 90% would not, even though they would apper to have left my handset ok.
Some i sent to my brother arrived at his phone saying "unsupported format" which is odd, most other times nothing at would arrive at all !!
i then unrooted and flashed with a generic HTC rom....mainly to fix the mms issue !
that didnt work, im still having the same problem!
ive recently bought a o2 simplicity sim and have requested an unlock code from t-mobile (mainly due to crap reception in my basement flat) but im hoping the problem is not haunting o2 users and will go away once i switch over networks
either that or a new official rom (hopefully with FroYo, flash and xvid support!) will do the trick
would be interested to know if any T-Mobile users who have the original t-mobile rom installed have had this problem, and anyone on an o2 sim
Pissing me off tho!
EDIT: have checked and double checked APNs, reinstalled them just in case and tried all the tricks ive heard others saying have cleared the issue

I have the same problem when using the HTC stock messages or Chomp SMS but using Handcent, every MMS is sent fine without problem.
I'm on Tmobile as well.
I'm thinking it might be a problem with the ROM.
For all you T-Mobile people, does it work if you flash the non branded HTC ROM?

Dunno if this helps but I send a photo from my desire via 3g to a non-desire phone and it worked. I guess that was a MMS. (Oddly, it seemed to send it as a slideshow of 1 photo, which I thought was a little odd but I've had that on other phones before.)
Poldie, yep that's a mms. Sending without wifi connected to a network works.

You wont be any better off on o2, I am having issues sending with stock messaging app, just wont go, it will with handcent and also my partner is on o2 simplicity and her sim in my phone also works and she is able to send pictures fine. has to be below a certain size though (think it is 300kb). Phone is rooted although had similar issue with non rooted phone but worse as could not receive fulll size mms either, can now rooted. Handcent will also work sending mms, just seemsto be an issue with the stock app and HTC messaging.
Hi guys,
So I bought a Sprint Galaxy S3 about a year ago and (thanks to this forum mostly) got it flashed over to Virgin Mobile running CM10. For the past year, everything has worked great, EXCEPT I can't receive any MMS. I can send them just fine, but if someone sends me one, I don't get anything. I have tried manually changing the APN settings in Go SMS and applying the APN fix from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794956 but still no dice. I've just kind of lived with it thus far, but now it's getting kind of old.
After searching the vast interwebs, I haven't been able to find any alternative solutions- most people seem to have problems sending but not receiving. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Anyone?
My Rogers S3 just recently updated to the stock 4.3 rom (I747MVLUEMK5) via OTA and occasionally it won't let me make any calls at all but it'll let me receive them. This issue persists for days and it will randomly go away for awhile and then come back. Is there anything I can do it fix this? Would this be an issue with the rom or is this a problem on Roger's end?

Been experiencing the same thing on Telus. Think its a rom issue as there have been other similar reports. Was hoping to find an answer here but I guess will need to keep on searching or wait until the next update.
Very frustrating issue seems to have developed for me over the past month or two in which MMS cannot be sent or received while I'm connected to WiFi. If I disconnect and switch over to LTE, MMS messages are received almost immediately and I can send them with no problem.
This is on AT&T using CM11 nightly 20140913. I used many nightlies prior to that over the summer and cannot recall when the issue developed, or if it began after a certain nightly.
I've seen this very issue (MMS problems while WiFi is connected) discussed sporadically for many other devices. Some blame it on Hangouts, but I have tried AOSP Messaging, chompSMS, and others, and it doesn't change anything. I'm *positive* that my APN is set properly (mmsc.mobile.att.net, proxy.mobile.att.net, port 80); it's also set both in the main system menu and manually in each SMS app I've tried. I can only conclude it's either an issue with CM11 or a carrier problem that has recently developed.
It's worth noting that chompSMS has a menu option that specifically forces a switchover from WiFi to mobile data when MMS is being sent/received. Even checking that option doesn't solve my problem. This makes me wonder if, perhaps, it's a ROM issue wherein the WiFi cannot be disconnected properly for this purpose? Has anyone else noticed this behavior on recent CM11 nightlies?
So I just did a nandroid backup and then flashed nightly 20141016. Sure enough, the newer nightly solves the MMS issue. However, WiFi hotspot is broken, as it has been for me on nightlies for several weeks now (thus, why I'm still running a month-old one). Too bad I don't have any backups from before the MMS bug appeared.
EDIT: Apparently this was a CM11 bug fixed on or around the 20140917 nightly. Where might I be able to find that nightly to give it a shot? At some point after 20140913, WiFi hotspot was broken, but hopefully there's a sweet spot in there somewhere. I've verified that hotspot is kaput on the M11 release. Really hoping to avoid a factory reset/clean flash if possible right now.
