hi guys, need some help. I tried upgrading my GB rom to Beanstalk kitkat 4.4 but came across some problems. I installed 4ext custom recovery. i partitioned the sd card to the recommended settings and then tried installing rom. got the status 7 error several times. i then decided (stupidly) to install TWRP custom recovery. i then tried flashing my rom and got updating partition error and everything try to install is not failed. I cannot restore cause i wiped my phone clean and there is no rom/stock running. any ideas what i can do?

Did you, by any chance, change your hboot? Or are you on stock? Changing could explain the status 7.
There should be a "mount usb storage" option in the recovery. Use it, connect the phone to your PC, and put a different ROM on the sd card, then flash it.

hi
I´ve rooted and flashed my desire several times. rooted with unrevoked3 everytime and tried different roms like leedroid 2.2d, 2.2 f and rcmixhd 0.13. First time i did it i flashed leedroid 2.2d and it worked fine. After 1,5 months running leedroid my phone rebooted due to the overheating problems that 50 % of us suffer from (i rebooted it manually several times during those months and it worked until this day).
It got stuck at the bootupscreen with white background and green HTCtext. couldn´t install RUU via windows, had to grab the PB99IMG.zip onto my SD and boot into bootloader and restore my phone this way. Then i rooted it AGAIN, and flashed rcmixhd 0.13. Success! But only until i rebooted it manually, stuck at bootupscreen again.
I restored the phone from SD with pb99img as earlier. Flashed rcmixhd again and made sure i wiped everything (dalvik, cache, formatted sdcard and created a EXT), success! Until i rebooted my desire...back again.
Now im running stock non-rooted froyo. I´m getting tired of spending the night fixing it but i still want to use senseHD and i like tweaking stuff..
Do any of u guys recognize this problem and what can i do to fix it?
If any of you are from sweden, plz answer in swedish!
Same problem here, the only way i got to install a custom rom was by installing update-cm-6.1.0-Desire-signed.zip. Then installed a custom rom by using the "Rom Manager" tool.
Downloading and flashing through recovery mode, "No, can do!"
Ok, but "update-cm-6.1.0-Desire-signed.zip" isn´t that a custom ROM? Did you install that through ROM manager?
And did you flash another ROM on top of it?

yes this is a custom rom, i did a normal flash first to "update-cm-6.1.0-Desire-signed.zip" (some how that worked???). Then i reflashed through the "ROM manager" tool.
Do you remember to always wipe everything in Recovery before flashing a new rom?
Seems like I always used to have a bootloop or bootfreeze when did not do the proper wipe.

i wiped everything even the Dalvik Cache, didn't help a thing.
Could is be that is has something to do with rom's that are not signed?
I have this same problem now, any possible sollutions?
Perdonally i would suggest to reformat your sd cards and try again. Dont forget to wipe everything.

Happend to me once or twice.
What to do is, Turn of the phone take out battery do the neccessary wipes and formatting,

install rom
install kernel (might affect it somehow)
reboot
I know what you are all going to say... I should have backed up my old ROM before flashing a new one. But I flashed a new version of Android Revolution HD on my One X. Once the wiping and flashing process was completed, the phone attempts to boot into the new ROM, shows the lockscreen and then reboots itself. I have got Clockwork mod installed and can still access it through the phone. I can not mount SD or USB through clockwork mod...
So I come to you guys (he ones who actually know what they are doing) to beg for some advise to help resolve this issue... Please Android ProsHELP ME!!!

Which recovery version do you got installed? The current one has fixed the lack of USB Mass Storage mounting....and it should work fine.
Seems you got an older one on your phone.
Go to the cwm thread in the development section and download the currrent cwm, boot into fastboot and flash the new recovery..after tah you should be able to flash the rom...
But well I know why your rom reboots all the time...you forgot to flash the boot.img in fastboot. Instructions hwo to flash the boot, img should be in the thread where you downloaded the rom.
After you flashed it your rom should boot again.
I tried to flash Randomblames 4.2.1 R4 rom and upon rebooting I get stuck in a FC loop with the phone or launcher process. I did clean wipe and I'm also using TWRP 2.3.3.0. I'll check if there is an update to my recovery and post back tomorrow, but for now does anyone have any ideas? I would post this in the development rom section, but I'm not allowed to.
Try 4ext

I've been flashing so many times any 4.2 version, thanks to every dev!!!.
I'm always using 4 EXT recovery without any issue, so I recommend to use it.
Try to search 4 EXT Recovery Updater App in the PlayStore and good luck.
Never had a problem with CWM here.
I have flashed around 50 different JB roms - and also older GB ones.

Me too... But i'm with 4ext not CWM.
Masterchrome, have you tried to format all partitions (except SD)?
Sent from HTC UzDesireHD
If you have rooted the HD with AAHK ClockWorkMode Recovery is installed. You can use that way. First you can format the SD-card in the Advanced menu. Remove the SD-Card and connect it to the PC. Copy R4 and Gapps to the SD-card, and put the card in the Phone. Start CMR and flash both. I did it that way, no problems!

I attempted to flash a custom ROM on my One, doing the usual, installing custom Recovery, factory reset, then install the ROM, but the phone simply reboots to HBOOT every time I reboot after installing the ROM
It seems there is something wrong with the internal storage space, and i've tried reformatting with philz recovery and twrp and keep having the same problem.
I've had Venom ROM on, i'm S-OFF, went back to stock, have latest firmware, wiped to install custom ROM again, now this problem.
I've tried searching XDA and the interweb to no avail so i'm here asking for any and all advice.

Cheers

Hello everyone,
I was using my Nexus 7 with stock lollipop 5.1.1 (Build LMY48M) when suddenly started rebooting and got stuck in an inifity loop. read over the internet that it was "bricked" and flash the same stock rom again with no results. The I flashed the stock rom of KitKat 4.4.4 and I it seemed to worked, but camera, gallery and google play store "Unfortunately stopped working" so I can not use my Nexus. I have tried Cyanogen and paranoid rom with the the results, It get stuck with any lollipop ROM and the apps dont work for any ROM bely lollipop. I also tried different Gapps with no result. Plase, I will appreciate any help !!
Do you have a custom recovery like TWRP installed? If you do, backup data, then format the internal storage completely before flashing the rom anew. It should fix it.

Thank you for you answer !!
I just tried using advanced wipe, check everything and flashing a new rom, but no differente result. Then I used format data and again flashed the rom but again, no result. Camera, gallery and play store "Unfortunately stopped working"
:crying: :crying: :crying:
When you flashed the stock ROM, did you do it with fastboot or did you do it another way? If you didn't do it with fastboot I would suggest you try that. This guide tells you how: http://androidforums.com/threads/guide-how-to-flash-a-nexus-factory-image-manually.706533/, you should download the images from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images tho since the ones in the guide are outdated.
Thank you for your answer !
I have tried flashing using Nexus Root Toolkit, Flashboot, and flashing using TWRP. No different results.
