Just discovered this buzzing sound from my Tab Pro 8.4. When I touch the tablet from the LOCK screen, it makes a buzzing sound. The sound is also present after unlocking the screen when I press the volume button Up or Down BUTTON, but not as loud. Even when it is on MUTE, when I press the volume down, the sound is still there. When I connect a headphone, the buzzing sound disappears.
My Tab Pro 8.4 is NEVER rooted and running stock T320UEU1ANG1
Video:
Edit:
Forgot to mention that the sound comes from the screen and not from the speakers. Even if the speakers are on silent or I plug a headphone, the sound is still there.
I just bought another one, for my wife and the new one does not have the problem... they are running the same firmware...
Am I the only one with this problem?

Never seen this issue before, just get in contact with Samsung and send it back for repair/replacement.
I've heard it.

It's due to cheap dac used by Samsung. Disable the sound while unlocking the touchscreen and it should go away

I noticed that one of my One Xs is clicking, it's quite a loud sharp click, slightly louder than the unlock sound.
It appears to be being made by the speaker, or at least caused by it. If I mute the handset the sound disappears.
I have noticed that it usually happens at either the start or end of a sound made by the handset. Eg. Screen unlock, tap sound, notification etc.
Sounds like an audio glitch to me.
Anyone else seeing this?
Recap: Sound goes away when system muted. Cannot recreate sound by tapping or pressing screen.
I get it too when playing words with friends' in silent mode. Its just the speaker popping. Probably go away with next update.

Same problem here !
Edit: find out it was the fault of the "direct volume control" option in power amp. Hope it could help you solve the problem

I had this before the 1.28 update, I read somewhere it was to do with the beats sound profiles but it was resolved for me with 1.28. Try turning beats off and see if it continues.

I also had a the crackling sound issue. Whenever I turned the volume up or down I got the crackling sound after the volume slider (on screen) disappeared. I had an equalizer app installed and when I disabled the crackling sound issue disappeared? This phone has a lot of issues and I'm beginning to regret having retired my HD2 :-(

EQ apps don't work to well, I got dpsmanager working without issue (check sig) but you need to flash it in cwm or trying to edit the EQ FC.

So an app you downloaded causes a problem and you blame the phone?
Can you try something?
Mute volume and open twitter or Facebook. Pull the screen down in order to refresh and stick the speaker to your ear. Do you hear that crackling sound?
Hey I used to have this issue too... was really effed up at times it would crackle away like a peanut in the fire after a message tone.
I turned off "quiet ring on pickup" and "pocket mode" in the audio settings.
Then restarted the phone. One of the two caused issues I guess. Neither I see as a feature I must have so that was that.. no more crack!
haha can i suggest something
if the phone is laid down on some surface, raise the phone and try again
if the speaker is covered it makes crazy sounds, guess because of micro holes
ok so the fiss i got through me head phones annoyed me so i turned of beats just used DPS manager and the hiss is almost gone, can't be heard on songs with "quite" bits and only just hearable when volume is right up.
beats seems to make the hiss a lot worse.
Had this once. Restarted and it was gone

First post btw xd
I had this issue. Do any of you have Volume+ installed? I had the 'volume level' set to +20 for the speaker within the app, and upon turning this off it seems to have stopped the popping.
i had this problem for about a day or so.
make sure in the sound settings, that any music effects are turned off, and when you turn on your phone, that no headphones are plugged in. then, when the phone is on, plug in headphones / use any dsp or music effects. for some reason i would get snap / crackles etc. if the headphones were in when i started the phone.
hope that helps!

I have the same problem, but with HTC Desire X and I don't know how to fix this. Problem occurs when screen goes off. I have the latest officialy JB update 4.1.1...Two times I reset the phone to factory settings, tried with clean system without any other installed apps, but audio pop/click/drop/jump randomly occurs and listening music is irritating... I contacted HTC support but no answer... HTC Wildfire, which I had, played music without problem...
The problem lies with beats...beats adjusts sound settings throughout the system, so when there is an extra sound, it cannot be converted to beats mode and so causes these weird sounds..try playing a game while listening to music with beats on, you'll get my point...one solution is to turn off volume completely (put it to silent) before starting music playback...hope that helps

Hello everyone. Today I revisited my galaxy s4 from my g2. I was listening to music and there was some noticeable hiss.
It was very apparent in low volumes and I was wondering if anybody else has this problem. For example, play a quiet song on the 1 notch for volume on some earbuds. Listen and tell me if you have hissing.
If you do.
I found a fix.
First. Try listening for the hiss on the 1st volume notch.
If you have it.
Go into the stock music player. Press the menu button and click settings.
in the settings menu. Click adapt sound and turn it off.
that should fix any problems.
That worked for me.
But. That was on my original s4.
I got a refurb from assurion because my original was destroyed.
Now I have a hiss no matter what. Even with adapt sound off. It was never on in the first place.
So, guys, tell me, does your s4 hiss???

Just checked. No hissing for me.
Hi Guys
I have this really annoying problem, when i get a call the volume is really low. It seems as if the person on the other side is whispering. I have to usually turn the car volume to maximum for it to be audible. However, when the call is terminated there is this really loud disconnect tone which makes me nearly deaf. my older galaxy s3 is louder than htc one even with half the volume level.
Playing music via bluetooth is absolutely fine.
i am not sure if anyone else has faced a similar problem with the HTC one M8.
I drive a Hyundai i30 and using an HTC One M8 bought on a contract from Vodafone.
Please help

I have this exact problem. Brand new HTC One m8 and only the in call volume is low. If I move the rocker up and down the slider moves but the volume stays extremely low. I have to put my radio on max just to here ANYTHING.
As far media volume, it's extremely loud, it's only the in call volume that's low for me on bluetooth. anyone know of a file or fix or rom that fixes this?
any news

Interestingly I have exactly the same issue with my new M9 with Kia Sportage Sat Nav unit which is probably the same as the i30 unit in the first post. Have latest firmware installed in the car sat nav.
As you say, bluetooth streaming of radio/music is fine! As for the end of call beep, very loud!
Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Note 4 was fine in same car.
Very annoying indeed
Low BT Call Volume
Hey Everyone:
I have been having this EXACT same problem for months now. ANY Bluetooth device that I am connected to sounds fine as far as Music and Streaming, but when it comes to IN CALL BT VOLUME, its PATHETIC. I scoured the web and there are no real answers or solutions for this. Just to save my own sanity, is everyone else ONLY experiencing this for phone calls only as I am??? The only way to get a decent amount of volume while on a call is to be paired to a device that allows you to turn the sound up SUPER HIGH, such as in my car, otherwise most of these smaller BT speakers that work for phone calls also have you capped at a certain volume level.
I am beginning to think that this is a massive hardware problem as I am seeing various M8 users having this issue on all variants as well Verizon, TMOUS, etc. etc.
I think our only option is to do warrenty exchanges?! The other thing that scares me is that some M9 users are also complaining about this too!!!!!!
I thought perhaps it might be time to upgrade to the M9 but whats the point if this stupid BT In-Call volume issue keeps happening?!
It is SO frustrating
i have had 2 m8s & both had same fault
Had same problem with m8. In call volume very low. Music audio perfect.
Moved to samsung s7 bt works very well.
Moved to htc m10, great phone. Bluetooth problem back! In call low volume. Music audio clear and loud.
HTC wake up, fix this problem. NOW!
Anyone else have this problem? :/ when I plug in the headphones, a loud crackling noise comes out continuously. and I also notice if I run a game with the headphones plugged in like that, the performance drops, I tried using different sets of earphones but its still a problems.. will go into more detail later...
Similar problem
I've had my Zenfone for a few days now and I noticed a similar problem.
When using the bundled headphones, there is a rather loud static noise. When using other headphones the hiss seems to be much quieter.
Many reviews of the Zenfone stated it's good audio quality, so I'm wondering...
I really wanna know if this is a problem with the bundled headphones or with my device since I can still return it.
Thanks!
Edit: I'm pretty confident now that it's the earphones' fault. The headset that comes with the device are really bad. Maybe it's because my Zenfone comes from Hong Kong. I have the Z00AD.
Has anyone else encountered that his earphones are so bad?
My ZF2 didn't even come with headphones lol (though they would have neded up in a drawer anyways. Using the phone with a good pair of headphones doesn't yield much static noise, but using it with my cheapest SkullCandy earphones gives that hissing noise you are talking about.
Have not experienced anything like this using audio technica headphones. But after updating to 2.19, my zenfone 2 lost its loudness specially the bass.

So I need to buy another pair of headphones then....
There is another audio problem I have noticed. After removing the headphone cable, there is sometimes no audio from the speaker until I press a volume button.

Yeah for me too.
Hopefully there will be more updates soon. I'm confident though.
I tried multiple headphones and it brought the same results . The problem i have is like actual sound pops. when i play a song, the headphone notification flickers on and off , but only when i try to play audio and sound is unplayable.. so basically i have a zenfone with a useless audio jack

Are you sure you have plugged the jack in all the way? It sounds more like a loose connection.
Yes, it is in all the way, im guessing something damaged it if its not the update.
For loud crackling noise, have you updated firmware to latest version? Please try this to see if it helps: Go to Settings/Sound & Notification/Ringtone & Notifications - turn down completely. Also go to Settings/Language & Input/Other sounds/Turn off: Dial pad tones, Screen locking sounds & Touch sounds.
If this helped, there may be a bug. Please send me a private message to email below with your Serial Number & Build number:

I'm guessing my audio jack maybe broken actually.
ive had similar problems,
it might be triggered by wireless connectivity settings, or power issues.
i had the popping happen when i accidentally put it in airplane mode.
its happened a couple other times. In my case a restart of the phone was all i could do to make it stop the popping,
sometimes the headphones are unusually loud then i restart an app and its reasonable again.
There's also weird volume changes when notifications happen.
i hope its a weird usage case bug.
Mines is actually broken, I may have accidentally pulled the headphone wire back to hard that the audio jack is loose from the board. Anyone know if its soldered in it or if its a peice i can buy?
Hey guys I've I don't know if this will help , but I tried uninstalling some apps like Facebook messenger and I tried recording my voice and make a call and the hissing/static noise is gone. I know it's weird but it works for me. I hope this helps ?
