Hey there!
Enjoy browsing Facebook but don't like the official app?
Facebook Browser uses the lastest WebView, [In this case it basically displays the Facebook adress in a single window, like a browser] powered by Chromium[4.4+].
Enjoy Facebook without unnecessary permissions. Facebook Browser is a very lightweight app
For people with devices using android lower than 4.4 use the 1.3b or 1.3

Hello all,
i'm running root with leedroid 1.7.
now i've used facebook on i believe defrost and i had some great sync options like, sync current contacts, which I'd like as to be honest a lot of my friends on fb are through a sport I play and we don't speak outside of the sport, so I don't need everyone listed in my phonebook.
the default facebook app in sense and the one on the market both have either sync or don't sync.
Is there a special fb apk I can use, or is this a strange sense limitation. I have twitter running too and I have the options I mentioned, but not for facebook.
TIA
Luke.
Hello,
After a quick search I wasn't able to find any topics on this subject so apologies if this has been covered already.
Can anyone suggest an app that will enable me to bookmark links on my android and have these sync'd to an online account? I know there are apps that will sync bookmarks with your desktop. I've also tried a few apps that sync with Delicious but none of these allow you to bookmark from within the default android browser. In summary, here's the setup I'd like
- bookmark link from within android browser with ability to tag the link before I save the link.
- view bookmarked links online (with functionality like Delicious)
cheers,
Keith

I use chrome on desktop.
I use chromarks paid version.
You can sync to default android browser.
Google bookmarks accepts delicious now. So you'll be happy.
Thanks mate.
ChromeMarks seems to sync with my local chrome browser ('Bookmark Manager'), not my 'Google Bookmarks'. I've recently discovered that Google Bookmarks doesn't sync with bookmarks that have been saved within Google Chrome (present within 'Bookmark Manager').
So, how have you managed to get ChromeMarks to sync with Google Bookmarks instead of Bookmark Manager?
Just an observation... I've noticed is that after exporting my bookmarks from Chrome, and trying to import them into Google Bookmarks... I discovered that you can't do it directly - only through Delicious. How bizarre!
Yes.. I thought I had a line that said
Chrome bookmarks are not google bookmarks and gb are not cm.
Pick one and stick with it. google or chrome books...just export from delish to chrome.
Export google books to file. Import to chrome. Stop using google books. Start using chrome entirely and no conflicts.
If you use all kinds of browsers... do ONE full export from all and then iONE import of those into chrome. Then stop using any and all bookmark sites and just pick one bookmark method and stick with it and you've got a commitment.
This is just how id do it if I were to PICK chrome bookmarks as my master bookmarks method.
Fyi the chrommarks sync to native browser doesn't seem to work inb gingerbread yet. It doesn't seem.
Morning all!
if I go into accounts & sync, add account, Facebook
nothing happens, it goes back to the list which has Google & Twitter in it. I have Facebook installed
any ideas?
cheers
The Facebook App needs an update to use the API and sync the contacts i guess.

We believe it is very important that users are able to control their data. So in the over-the-air update for Nexus S, we have a small change to how Facebook contacts appear on the device. For Nexus S users who downloaded the Facebook app from Android Market, Facebook contacts will no longer appear to be integrated with the Android Contacts app. Since Facebook contacts cannot be exported from the device, the appearance of integration created a false sense of data portability. Facebook contact data will continue to appear within the Facebook app. Like all developers on Android, Facebook is free to use the Android contacts API to truly integrate contacts on the device, which would allow users to have more control over their data. We are removing the special-case handling of Facebook contacts on Nexus S and future lead devices. We continue to believe that reciprocity (the expectation that if information can be imported into a service it should be able to be exported) is an important step toward creating a world of true data liberation --and encourage other websites and app developers to allow users to export their contacts as well.

My bigger problem with the facebook app is that the menu button is not accessible in ICS. As a result, you can't change the defaults for how often the app refreshes (I like to disable auto refreshing).
I prefer using fb throught the Browser.... facebook app is the most battery draining app ever.

Hi, on the S3 in the stock browser there is an option to show the synched boormarks from your Chrome desktop browser.
I cannot see it on the G4.
I went to the phone gmail account sync settings and I cannot find the sync bookmarks option but only the sync Chrome option which will sync only the bookmarks for the chrome phone mobile browser...
Any idea??

There may be other ways...but this & other sites say you have to use an app called Chromemarks. The catch...only the paid version will sync your Chrome bookmarks to your default android browser.
More reading...not sure if this would help you: http://notesofgenius.com/how-sync-android-browser-chrome/
Sort of on the same topic...I looked, but could not find anyway to locally sync Samsung's own browsers bookmarks with the bookmarks widget.
The only real bookmark widget (4x1) is for Chrome and the annoying thing is that you have to keep Chrome sync on in settings, for your bookmarks to stay in the widget. I wondered why the bookmarks disappeared, until I realized why. I don't like having sync on at all times, I like to do it manually...so this seems like a complete oversight on Samsung's part. I mean, why would you include your own browser but not make a widget for bookmarks for it? Then also why would the Chrome widget only keep bookmarks if sync for Chrome is enabled.
I LOVED my Sensations bookmark widget (and other widgets). It was kept on a local cache & did not require sync to be on to stay there. Sammy could learn one thing from HTC in regards to great widgets. Seems like with all the other amazing software features on this phone, Samsung forgot to have a team work on widgets...and also some basic apps light a flashlight app for the LED. Of course many things can be downloaded from the play store, but you would think that stuff would be included...Strange.
If any of what I said was incorrect....feel free to correct me and if someone knows how to keep your bookmarks in the 4x1 widget, without Chrome sync enabled...let me know :good:
install chrome brower for android

Just installed LOS on my Nexus 6P -- I'm excited! I'm totally new to custom ROMS & have a few initial questions. Oh, I do not have the Play Store & Google apps installed (I think you call them gapps?) .
Why is Chrome the default browser? This was a huge shock to me -- I expected Firefox for a privacy focused ROM. How do I remove Chrome?
Is the default email app some sort of Gmail clone? I have not yet added any email accounts to it because I need to better understand what this default email app is all about -- I don't want to connect to anything Google. I will be using O365 Exchange & iCloud.
Is there a way to get ExpressVPN to work on LOS? I don't see the app on F-Droid.
Where else can I go to find apps that are safe to install?

Congratulations.
-chrome is not the default browser. Android contains chromium web view which is used by default leightweight browser. That is identified as chrome by webpages. You can replace the webview with bromide or install fennec from f-droid.
-email is a native AOSP app, you can trust.
-no idea about vpn. Some are even worse than a average ISP. You can use tor instrad.
-sometimes i install apps from Google play store. No need to use play app. Use yalp or aurora.
And you will connect to Google as soon as you touch any connect device.
btw there's also a build of Chromium from Bromite's developer.
You can trust APK Mirror and APK Pure. I haven't tried any other APK sites so be wary.
