LG Keyboard draining battery - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, my stock LG Keyboard is running 1 process and 3 services in the forground, it's not even a background process
Is everyones stock LG Keyboard doing this? My LG Keyboard starts right up as a forground process from a cold boot without any apps even triggering it to open.
Anyone got any ideas how to make it not run in the forground/at boot? other than using another keyboard
my old S4 didn't run the keyboard in the forground until it was triggered (opening keyboard in mms ect would cause it to run in the forground, but not on boot for no explainable reason) and it didn't have such a redicilus amount of services either.

Here are the services running contantly under the LG Keyboard

In any platform or rom, the default keyboard is always running. This doesn't means that it drains your battery.
Try to install google keyboard or another keyboard and you will see.
If you stops the process, everytime that you go to write something, the keyboard needs to load again into memory. This causes more cpu usage = more battery drain.
Regards

Just because an app or service is. running does not mean it is draining your battery. A well behaved app will just sit quietly in memory until it's needed, or android decides it needs more memory. The keyboard running isn't a bad thing

Drains battery
Hey guys, my lg g3 stock keybord is draining my battery and uses too much ram -an avarege of 50 mb. For example, my screen has used 30% of the battery and the keybord has used 5% of the battery. It seems odd. Any ideas? I have changed the height of the keybord from the menu, could it be the cause?

I'm experiencing the same issue on my G3. I switched to SwiftKey keyboard and the the problem went away.
I'll look out for this on the LG G4.

HoX com.android.phone problem

My brother's HTC one X (international) has this problem it freezes and delays when being turned on and automatically overheats and the error it always shows according to him is "com.android.phone has stopped working" or something similar. He's not rooted and he was just copying some video files as usual and updated his phone while he was at it.
He's telling me it might be a virus? can androids get infected like that? and he also tells me the battery dies faster than usual even though he clears ram and closes application via task manager. He lives in another country and never used a forum before and we both tried getting answers from google to no avail but I did tell him to get it replaced as a last resort since he still has his warranty if we can't find a solution here. So are there any quick hotfix to this without rooting since he doesn't know how and doesn't want to? thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I went over a skype video call with him and he showed me his problems and turning on took awhile around 2 mins (stuck at HTC one X quietly brilliant logo) then after that a 5-10 sec black screen delay, when he entered his pattern password it takes awhile to go open and it stays 2-3 mins that way while it says loading. Then once he gets on his home screen his applications changed their icons to android icons (the green robot). He opened some apps like Dead Trigger and it takes awhile to load like 30-70 seconds he even tried other apps as well and it's the same result. From time to time it overheats on its own without even any apps on.

[Q] Does my phone have a hardware failure, getting lots of reboots.

Hi,
I don't know if anyone is still using one of these pieces of ****, but I can't afford anything new (if you are still using it as your main device too, I pity you :highfive.
I'm using FXP latest CM10 ROM, and it has worked okay for me for the last year. The problem is that since a couple of months my phone often acts like it's even ****tier than it actually is, by taking 5 seconds to react on anything and filling up the RAM until it runs out of memory and soft reboots. This happens twice a day under normal use.
Is this normal, or are the internals fried? I haven't overclocked it that frequently, but I've used it a lot the last 3 years.
Also is this true? I suspect that the useless Android memory management kicks Greenify out of the memory, then proceeds filling up the RAM with the stupid background services every app thinks it needs nowadays until the phone runs out of memory and (soft) reboots.
Other stuff that might be relevant:
I'm using Greenify and put everything in it that syncs except for a few apps.
Using Nova Launcher, no widgets
About 80MB free RAM after a reboot. I don't get how people can have like 150MB free if they actually use their phone.
No other scripts or non-stock-CM tweaks used

I'm not going back to 4.0 like a peasant. And I had soft reboots there too under heavy usage. Shouldn't FXP CM10 be the most stable custom ROM (I'm using 2.4 kernel)

[Q] Email doesn't push through.

Hi there,
I've currently got my G3 rooted, but on stock and I am using CloudMagic instead of the stock mail app. I don't remember exactly when this happened, but right now, I have to open the app before it goes checking for new mail, while previously it just got pushed and I got a notification.
I am using Titanium Backup (froze some stock LG and Google apps), Greenify (double checked I didn't hibernate CloudMagic) and battery doctor and it's CPU management function to save some juice.
I really need my mail on time for business reasons, so any suggestions would be really helpful!
Is cloudmagic running in the background? (Does it show up in greenify as a backgroud process?) if it does, maybe you just deactivated the notifications. If you have deactivated synchronisation in the settings, cloudmagics push eill not work anymore. The same happens below 5% battery i think.
Yes it is running in the background (checked Greenify). Auto sync is also enabled so I'm not sure what the issue can be.

Well you can see that it's not always running (5h vs 15h on whatsapp) on my phone i have the exact same numbers for cloudmagic and whatsapp
Ah I see, so I'm guessing one of my apps is shutting it down, correct? I also tried to reinstall the app but to no avail.
My guess would be clean master since it has some backgroud process killing feature (i don't use it, only read it on the internet).just tryif it works without it.
Found the problem! It was battery doctor that killed it. Everything works great now. Thanks for helping out, really appreciate it!

[Q] System_server: Excessive CPU usage & battery drain

Hey guys,
I've really liked this phone - until a few weeks ago.
I had the fated sudden decline in battery life. BetterBatteryStats has been on my phone for a while, so I opened it up and checked what usually kills battery on Android: the wakelocks.
It seemed totally normal!
Then, I checked processes. (These are today's stats, still just as bad)

system_server?
I noticed my phone was getting warmer whenever I was actively using it right under the camera, I guess which is where the SoC is. It's also been getting noticeably laggier.
Also today, under the battery usage in the settings:
Android OS and Android System are using twice as much battery as the screen.
This is pissing me the hell off. My phone drains perfectly acceptable battery when it's asleep, but take it out to use it and suddenly it's draining over 20% an hour. The extremely vague and obscure nature of the process doesn't help either. What does system_server even do?
I'm running Tweaked, and I've been alternating between ColonelX and Lean with no difference in battery.
I've also dirty flashed (really don't want to factory reset) to the NF4 Tweaked 3.5 beta. Only difference here is less lag.
As for bootloader, radio, and all that stuff, it's NF4 as well.
Nearly all Samsung bloatware is frozen in Titanium Backup, and all other troublesome apps have been greenified.
Attached is a log from BetterBatteryStats.
Thanks in advance for your help!
(I'm typing this on my phone, and battery had drained over 10% since I started writing this post.)
I had exactly the same issue since I upgraded my note 3 to Lollipop. It was fine when the phone was in sleep. But when using it, it drained the battery super fast...
system_server consumed lots of CPU resource at most time.

Lag??

Hi,
Just bought an LG G3 D855 16GB European model. Its running official Lollipop software (see pic) and im using the stock launcher. Ive used Nova and Apex and makes no difference to my problem. I'm experiencing lag and have done the mods where you turn on "high temperature property" and "thermal daemon mitigation" on. This has fixed it a bit but still getting random pauses and lag. I have also turned down animations to 0.5x and still have lag. For instance i open the messaging app and it opens with a little bit of lag but when i click a message it takes sometimes 3-4 seconds to open that message. Also when opening settings it lags for a second sometimes. Cant believe a device so powerful (even taking into consideration the big resolution) can lag so much.
Please View My Video and let me know if im going mad or it is lag and how to overcome it?

Thats normal, no lag there.

Normal? It took 3 seconds for the message to open. I wouldn't call that normal for a phone in 2014. I sold it yesterday.
Matt
That was normal lol...What if your next smartphone lags in opening for example Gallery and not in message? Will you sell that too?
Good luck in finding the lag free super duper smartphone !
