Hey guys, i'm debloating my D852 version 10b on bell, but i have this issue where it lets me uninstall everything except the bell bloat using titanium backup, phone is rooted, i get this error "Failed to locate the apk file." i tried to force uninstall through titanium backup and it says the same thing.
What's worse is bell decided to install a ALWAYS ACTIVLY RUNNING tracking service on us bell users :crying: which makes the phone get really warm, it can be force closed everytime i turn the phone on but i rather just find out why titanium backup won't uninstall it (or an alternative).
can i uninstall them using es file explorer do you think? what directory would these be installed in if i had to manually remove them with es file explorer?
Any help is very appreciated, thanks.
There is an app in the play store called "root app delete" you can try that. It works for me.

I flashed my ion with the latest at&t ICS then root it with bin4ry's method. It installed the superuser and I can uninstalled apps using the flashtool but when I try to uninstall through the phone I can't (tried it with apps then going to app I want to uninstall, instead of uninstall I only get disable). Am I missing a setting? I remembered when I flashed my phone with the international ICS I can simply uninstall all the apps I want.
Thanks in advance and thank you for all the guides and other things that makes this phone fun to use.
Actually even with international firmware there are some apps you can't uninstall through the settings -> apps menu. For those apps use something like root explorer and remove the apk manually in the system/apps folder. That removes it from your phone.

If you are trying to uninstall system or certain preloaded apps you need to use ti-backup from market. The /settings/apps program will only uninstall user apps not system apps

Uninstall Almost Any System App
Have you ever wanted to remove a system app?
To remove a system app you need to have:
1.Rooted Phone
2.Root Explorer(ex.ES File Explorer)
3.Custom Recovery(or ability to reset dalvik and cache)
4.Apps to Remove!
Let´s get started!
0.Make a backup of your phone just in case.
1. Remove the App´s data.Go to Settings/Apps/All/ and select the app. Then Clear Data and Cache.
2.Navigate with root explorer to /System/App/
3.Select the app that you want to delete and delete it!
4.Then Clear Dalvik and Cache(This will remove the app from the apps list)
5.And Voila! You removed a system app!

thanks for all the answers.
Do you guys know how to get rid of the "yp local search" from contacts? Also sometimes when I go to my contacts, it tries to retrieve an at&t address book.
Promise this is the last question. Thanks again
As Spec mentioned go to /system/app delete whatever you want by using root explorer or something similar

I have uninstalled all att apps and still have that in contacts. Now when I click it contacts force close. Might be built into att contacts apk. Maybe try the one from generic international

Hello
I recently got the E971 Rogers LG Optimus G, and I'm very happy with it but coming from S3 i9300, I'm a little overwhelmed with the how much less content there is for this phone, also the amount of variants, 13 MP/8 MP etc...it's very confusing.
Anyways, my problems is I recently Rooted my phone and managed to get titantium backup running, but when ever I try deleting anything to do with bloatware, it cannot find the apk...but I can back them up?
I can uninstall the minor apps fine, but the majority of them are red and cannot be deleted.
I gave it root permission.
Any help would be appreciated!
Red color means not unable to delete but unable to back up the data.
Do you use free version?

yes I do, I just got the pro version and just froze the apps. Everything seems fine now. If I delete the apps, The phone does inf Boot with "LG Security" problem.
Pretty sure that if you unlock the bootloader with FreeGee, the security is disabled and you can delete/ uninstall any apps you want.

Hey everyone,
I uninstalled Google Search (google now) because I couldn't click on any of the settings on my stock, s-off, rooted and unlocked rom with flar2's kernel. I had a titanium backup of it, but restoring just the backup without any of the data did not work. Nor did restoring the app+data.
I reinstalled the application on the play store, but now I am having force close issues when I try to open it from anywhere. I know the original name of the application on our phones is Velvet.apk, but I can't recall if it was in system/app or system/priv-app. Does anyone know? If you could look and tell me, I would put the titanium backup apk into that folder and then install from there to see if that fixes the problem.
Please please please help! Google now is a huge part of my phone experience. It's really annoying because even after uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the play store, I still could not click on any settings. So stupid.

Hi
Ive been trying to remove some bloatware on my rooted tab and am having no luck. Can anyone recommend any bloatware removal apps that are CONFIRMED WORKING on a rooted official 5.1.1 please?
Ive tried NoBloat and an app simply called Uninstall.
They seem to disable or delete the apps but the apps just come back (or never go away in the first place). Ive trieda few different apps with same result.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I use "Root Explorer" and either rename or delete whatever app I don't like. Works perfect for me.

So, i installed kingroot on my lg g2 and i figured i should try to get rid of some bloatware. I didnt make a backup of any apps. So i uninstalled a couple apps that that looked safe to delete and anyways it all works fine, until i restart my phone. Im getting like 3 error messages system UI is not working and a couple other apps, i cant navigate anywhere. The settings on the boot screen and i can navigate through them. I tried to flash the stock rom but since i have the sprint version and it has a different file type. All lg flash programs use kdz. I dont know how to reinstall the built in apps. Help, i know i was stupid for doing this and its all ny fault but can someone help me get it back to its original state. Thanks!
