Google Play Services issues - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I like to switch up ROMs a lot, going back and forth between Sense ROMs and sometimes to AOSP/CM-based ones. Typically, I wipe everything and install from a fresh download, check MD5s, etc. I don't back up and restore apps with Titanium Backup either.
Today I reflashed Team Ecliptic Revamped v3. It booted fine, etc. I reinstalled a lot of apps fresh from the Play Store and set everything up, logging into the usual Facebook, Twitter, eBay, etc.
Then at some point I wanted to get Xposed installed along with some modules and had to reboot. When I did, everything I'd installed from the Play Store was gone. l tried to update Google Play Services but it wouldn't allow it. I cleared data from anything/everything that I thought could be involved, but that did no good. Then I tried removing my Google account and reinstating it. Now it wouldn't allow me to log into Google at all.
I had no choice but to restore a Nandroid of another ROM.
Then I tried flashing the port of the OnePlus CM version (v2), which ran great for me a week or two ago. All of the above happened again.
What am I missing here? I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
p.s. Is it just me or are the custom recoveries acting screwy lately? I have the darndest time getting the latest TWRP (MDMower's 2.7.1.3-beta) to flash anything, and the latest Philz I could find for M7VZW, which I think goes back to early July, isn't much better.

TWRP updated today to 2.8 (http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7vzw)
as for playstore, i havent heard of this before. Try the new TWRP and do a full wipe and report back and i will try to troubleshoot with you.

I installed the new TWRP version but it makes no difference. I reflashed One Plus CM 11 as a test. It flashed fine, ran great, and then I rebooted for Xposed and... boom. Same problem. Maybe I need to RUU and start fresh?

[Q] Market downloads unsuccessful

I tried to flash a new ROM last night, went fine and Google started restoring apps automatically. I then restored my Titanium and everything was fine but I then could not download anything from the market.
I tried another fresh install wiping everything and weirdly Google restored my apps again but after it had finished I couldn't download anything else from the Market.
So I figured it was an issue with the ROM so I restored my Nandroid. But guess what, I now still cannot download anything from the market.
I have tried everything suggested like wiping Market cache, data, Uninstall updates etc but nothing works. I can push apps to my phone from market.android.com but cannot download from my phone. It is so frustrating.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Edit: I have now tried factory reseting and logging in with a different Google account and this works fine. Could this be an issue with my account?
Right it just randomly started working again last night. Oddly this was after I had raised the issue with Google. Not sure whether they did something with my account to fix it or it was just a coincidence and it just started working again anyway. Either way I am happy it is working again.

[Q] Lots of Broken stuff on 4.2

I recently updated my Galaxy Nexus ROM to Paranoid android based on 4.2. I noticed a few issues...
After upgrading I stopped getting Facebook notifications.
DashClock widget is showing up as incapable in the Play Store.
I can no longer get play store apps pushed to the device through a browser.
I can't sign in to Google Plus. My google account shows sync errors (everything but Google Plus is syncing).
I tried a factory reset because I suspected Titanium Backup might have caused problems. I tried using the Google stock ROM (4.2.1). Nothing fixed it. Note that I didn't have issues with previous versions of Paranoid Android. I have done some googling and forum searching to no avail. Help is appreciated, thanks.
I do presume you've wiped all caches through twrp or cwm?
If not, then do so and reinstall the ROM again.
Helpful advice: when upgrading, unless you absolutely MUST, don't restore apps or data with TB. Many users reported instability issues after doing so. Always download fresh apps from the play store

Yes, I wiped all Caches before upgrading. I will try again without restoring.

[Solved] Play Store Error 920; CM 10.2.

Really enjoying my (problem free) Nexus 7 2013, but stock Android has some missing features compared to CM10 that is on my phone. So last night I installed CM 10.2 (8/24), and 8/13 gapps for android 4.3. Also put in a custom kernel (bulletproof). Everything set up, and then part way through installing all my apps, google play stopped with a 920 error on all the rest of the apps, and refused to do anything more.
Redownloaded both CM 10 and gapps, erased, reflashed (no custom kernel this time), same error 920 partway through the downloads.
A new CM10.2 build (8/26) was available this morning, so downloaded that, redownloaded the gapps again, and flashed. Almost all of the apps got downloaded this time, although a few had an error 923 (manually downloaded those without additional issue right away). But right at the end of the auto downloads, the play store crashed (application unexpectedly closed), and when I went back to it, error 920s again.
Some research online lead to a few possibilities:

Cleared cache on play store and play services. No help.
Titanium Backup won't find my old backups, despite walking through the instructions at the CM10.2 thread. So I can't restore the Android ID as someone suggested.
At one point I completely removed my google account, the data in the play store app, the download manager, and play services. That worked, sort of - I could download apps without error 920, but it decided that all of my previously installed apps were installed from somewhere other than the play store, so to get them back to normal state required un/reinstalling all of them. I started over instead.

This has a very detailed fix, that involves installing an updated version of the play store and a different play account. But I was already on the latest version of the play store (tried installing the same apk over top, but it didn't make any difference), and the secondary google account worked to download things, but didn't fix the first one.

While writing this post, I saw the suggestion in the s3 thread to wipe cache / dalvik and repair permissions from recovery. Tried it as a last resort, and suddenly I have full functionality again. Not sure why that fixed it, when I had done those steps as part of the install, but there you go.
Thought I would go ahead and post this as fixed in case anyone else had the same issue. All the results I found searching for this problem were for other devices, or other errors for this device. Hopefully my story and link collection will be useful to someone else.
I just got my Nexus 7 (2013), "N7b" for short?, anyway, when I started it and I began downloading all my apps, it shipped about 50 with error 920. Then it started getting them all. After that it seemed episodic. For a while they would update, for a while they would error.
I also updated the apps on some of my other devices and was also getting an occasional error downloading the apps. So, i think this is a problem with google's server, not our apps or ROMs.
Works with GNex as well.

Thanks. This worked for me and my Galaxy Nexus after I clean flashed AOKP MR-1 Milestone 2, and got the errors as my apps were downloading again.
Worked for Galaxy Tab 2!
This also worked for my Galaxy Tab 2 running CM10.2. Thanks for the post.

[Q] Installed CyanogenMod updates no connection to Play Store

I was running cm-10.2.1 and last night I installed CyanogenMod updates cm-11-20140104-SNAPSHOT-M2 and cm-11-20140210-SNAPSHOT-M3. Several of my apps either quit working or disappeared. When I clicked on Play Store to try and re-install the apps, I got a message of "No Connection". Searched the problem and several people said to delete the Google Account and re-install it. After deleting it, the phone will not let me recreate it. When I click on Add Account and then the Google symbol, nothing happens.
Is there solution to fix this? if not, can I just re-install 10.2.1 and fix it?
My phone is an AT&T SGS3.
Thanks,
retnuh
Re-flash GApps, that has happened to me before, and this is what fixed it.
As LittlePalmTree stated, sounds like you need to reflash GAPPS. Make sure you grab the one compatible with cm11. cm11 is android 4.4 where as cm10.2 was 4.3 if I am not mistaken.
Thanks for the help. I tried to re-flash the gapps after reading the first reply but before reading the second reply. You guessed it. I did it wrong. The phone would not get past the spinning circle screen. Ended up using CWM to re-flashing the rom stored on my phone and also re-flashing the gapps stored on my phone. So, I'm back to version 10.2.0, but at least my phone is working again. While I would like to update, I'm afraid I will mess my phone up again.
Thank you for both of your replies.
Googled the problem and found a few solutions from the simple - force stop/clear cache - up to full factory resets.
Different things seemed to work for different people.
Tried the force stop/clear cache and check time/date is correct (which causes some people problems.
Then I tried removing my Google account and adding it in again. However, it wouldn't let me do that until I re-flashed GAPPS. Did that and it all works fine now.

CM13 Update, setup wizard problem

Hello everyone,
So I installed CM13 as an update from 12.1 but it was stuck on the boot logo, then it counts up the updates, then does the same thing again in an endless loop.
I decided to do a clean install, so I wiped cache, system and data and installed CM13, then I installed Gapps6 stock with the exclusion of some general apps I can get from Play store, since installing stock without excludes renders error 70
Anyway, everything went well, but on the wizard setup I was expecting to see Google ask me to import apps from specific devices that was used on specific dates. But all I got was the NFC restore method.
What did I miss here? and what can I do to get to restore all my setting from before I updated the phone?
I know that option existed in Lollipop, as I have used the option when I clean installed CM12.1 many times.
Thanks all
I have heard, but have not yet tested, that you need to delete the cmsetupidwizard (or whatever it's named) before the initial boot.
