[Q] [I9192] Problem in call

Hello everyone,
I have a i9192,
I'm using stock rom and kernel I9192UBUBMK4 Stock.
I have a strange problem, when I make a voice call ...
the other person hears me bad, the volume is low then it is high, then low again.
I hear the person correctly without problems.
but she did not hear me well.
someone has been there?
excuse me for my English, because I'm using google translator.

My fingers are away from the microphone,
when I use the speakerphone everything works perfectly.
I tested other apps such as skype and VoIPs,
all works perfectly too
This problem is also there on both my S4 Mini the korean ones. The best way to solve this is
1. Use Adapt Sound. You might need to set it up first.
2. Plug in headphones, if it still gives that problem, try inserting them again 2-3 times on a call.

[Q] Outgoing voice quality sucks

Hey guys!
The outgoing voice quality, so the quality the person you call hears, is really bad with my P6. It sounds very tinny and distorted even when I have full connection...do some of you noticed that as well? Is there maybe a way to increase the quality?
I´m using the Hyd52Rom and the standard Dialer App.
Thanks

I think it might have to do with your phone service provider, I don't think my phone has the same issue.
Sent from my P6-U06
I think this can´t be the reason because with my old phone (HTC One S) I had no problems at all. The quality is really bad though...
SOLVED
Although nobody else seems to have the same problem, I found a solution for it:
Just deinstall the VIPER equalizer by opening it, klicking on options and klick on deinstall driver.
That solved the bad voice quality.
Now the called people hear my voice very loud and clear.

Poor call quality / distortion / noise , anyone else?

LG-D855 here on UK Orange (EE) network. I get quite bad noise on voice calls. I think I am clear to the other party but I can hear a bad static sound whenever they talk, it is quite irritating.
Call quality is clear on bluetooth, and and when on loud speaker, it only happens when using the normal internal speaker.
Has anyone else experienced this? Since it is not present across all speaker modes I think it is not a network issue and more likely hardware - I am wondering if I have a faulty handset?

Thanks that is useful. I wondered if it was an EE issue as I had problems with their hd voice codec on a different android handset. But I have just done a lot of testing and it definitely is only when on the normal internal speaker, which really makes me think it is a hardware fault.
Will phone CPW and get it swapped.
Uh, how to unroot?
I'm on 3 and the call quality is excellent, I can now use the phone in places where I couldn't with my s3

Don't worry about it there not going to know about if it's rooted just uninstall supersu or superuser which ever you have
Mine has had good call quality on the hd voice codec, but it drops to a lower codec really quickly during a call, not sure why. and that seams to have a little static. Cant remember if this was what calls were normally like on my old phone though.

Hmmmm. I tested again today and the noise is all gone: calls are crystal clear. I really don't understand what is going on, or whether it is software or hardware related.
I suppose it is best to swap it out before I have had it for too long, just in case?

Useful, thanks.
I have the same issue but only on GSM calls. Weirdly whe. I use Skype the calls are crystal clear which therefore eliminates hardware issue unless it's the GSM attend interfering with the earpiece.
Any ideas what I should do?

I don't think you can. The operator will alter it according to signal conditions AFAIK.
Just to complete this thread: I have swapped the phone at CPW under their 28 day guarantee and so far the new handset doesn't exhibit this problem. Will update in a few days time.

You dont. Its automatically selected by the network/phone. Mine seams to start off with clear sound then quickly drops to a lower quality and never recovers for that call.

I had the same issue in Slovenia, I changed phone for new one, but the problem is still here. I find out that I hear that noise only when phone is on 2G/GSM.When I switch to 3G/WCDMA only the sound is perfect, also when I use Skype. Did you try to switch on 3G/WCDMA only?
Yeh I tried switching but same issue. I exchange thr phone, no problem with the new one
Hi all, I have a similar problem but the other way around, people that I call hear a lot of static, but ONLY if I am powering the phone. If I connect the phone to a USB port of my PC there is static too, but less. BTW I call using a wired headset.
Other problem, the LG stock headset muffles my voice and people can't hear me well, I had to use a Samsung headset.
Last problem, when I make calls without headset I hear in the phone the sound that you get when placing a phone next to a speaker...
Does anybody have similar problems?
Needless to say I am very disappointed.
BTW, no audio hissing when playing music via Spotify

I have the exact same problem. Have you found a way to solve this? The problem only occurs when I use a wired headset and plug in my charger. No charger plugged in, no noise as per the person on the other end of the call.
kentii, I bought a wireless charger to charge my phone, in which case the problem doesn't appear. I also bought a bluetooth dongle for my desktop to replace the USB connection. I spend a lot of time on the phone and like using a wired headset. I use MyPhoneExplorer to dial from my PC

Anyone got the Carphonewarehouse UK ROM?

I bought a LG G3 which was on the Three network from eBay. I'm getting voice call issues so I'm hoping I can get a generic rom which might help?

Yes exactly that issue, but only when on GSM calls. Not while using skype
AND thanks very much for the link. I'm downloading the vodafone one now. Maybe there is an audio codec or network issue? Driving me nuts. I can send the phone back to the seller but then I'm without a phone

Are you getting high quality voice calls for a few seconds and then its dropping to lower quality? or it it just straight crackling and static right from the start of the call?

Hmmm, would be interested to hear whether the software fixes it, but I doubt it. I just swapped my handset because it had the same symptoms. I reckon it was a badly mounted speaker, but then if yours was the same problem then you'd expect it to happen on skype as well.

How bad was the static? I'm trying to figure out if im having a similar problem of if it is just the networks poor audio codec.

Software didn't do a thing. And yes, I can't understand why it doesn't impact it during skype calls.
I have had a few calls an it sometimes goes away, so maybe this is to do with the HD voice codec that networks are rolling out. Vodafone might have it's own codec which is not on the device.
BTW, the link on the site for Vodafone UK was the Italian 3 one again!

Ah ok, and that's on on the earpeice? Mines a network codec problem then i think because i don't get that kind of buzzing sound. That sounds almost as if the speaker cant handle the volume?

Yes that's max volume through the earpiece but when you lower the volume and your ear is next to the phone you can still hear it. Almost like an buzz echo. It doesn't happen on skype calls.
Which network are you on?
I'm starting to think it might be a Vodafone network issue.

The way vodafone seam to handle the hd voice codec is it will use it if your on 3g (4g will switch to 3g as they dont have voice over 4g yet), but if the signal goes down during a call or fluctuates (no idea on the thresholds for this) it will drop to a lower quality codec/network type to maintain the call. But it only goes down not up, so regaining a good signal during a call will wont switch you back to the hd voice codec. i might phone them tomorrow about it and see if that is indeed what is happening to me.
But that doesnt sound like the issue your having if the video you posted is what all your calls sound like.

One thing to consider about not having the problem with skype. I do know that other phones (Nexus 4 for example) had problems with audio if your plunged in a headset (earbuds+mic) which wouldn't work properly with gsm calls but would work perfectly fine with voip. Its possible viop isn't affecting whatever problem the speaker has but the speaker may still have a fault.

Is that using the earpiece or speaker? It seems pretty loud for the earpiece!
But yes, mine sounded quite a lot like that.
ok it's gotta go back
I went over to my neighbour's who has a Three sim, same issue.

Who are you with? Sprint, Verizon, etc? I have the same problem - no matter what program I use or the TweaksBox call recording - the other side is distorted.
