[Q] SystemUI apk problem

Hi everyone,
I'm using the deodexed 4.2.1 rom on My Galaxy Nexus with a custom SystemUI.apk that works (it doesn't make notification and navigation bar disappear) taken from this thread.
I successful replaced unwanted image files in the apk with 7zip and now I'm trying to change the clock color in the taskbar.
I do the following things, in order:
1. Decompile apk with apktools
2. Change values of color in the proper xmls
3. Recompile apk
4. Replace SystemUI with the new one
5. Clean Cache/Dalvik and reboot
After that notification and navigation bar disappear. Am i missing something?

You must sign apk with signapk everytime you make changes into an apk.

Seems that i told you bull**** coz systemUI never have to be signed...

So, restoring old "stock" SystemUI.apk you get phone working well again?

Yes, I made a nandroid backp for safety.

First have a look
its amezinnggggg changeeeeeee
now mod is ready just need some changes .
but first you have to have
Locked Bootloader
Root
recovery
Superuser Mod
Deodexed
if you have that then go ahead and do a nandroid backup in TWRP
go to below link and download XperiaZ3XReality+Vivid Z1 Stock Only for xperia Z1 zip

I have 4.4.3 stock rom..rooted with custom recovery.. but its not deodexed..can i try this Mod? and how to deodexed, i tried to flash the deodexed one from development thread but i got boot loop..?

sorry deodex rom is requires
and can you please tell me which phone you are using
coz for t2 ultra dual and t2 ultra zip are different
if you flash wrong zip you will end up with boot loop

I am using this mod since it's release day. Not used modified settings. Apk.
It works for me with unlocked bootloader. Don't need to lock bootloader.

Sir i have one more question, i finale successed to deodexed my rom, and i follow your steps for this. Rom but when i replace settings apk and restart my phone i dont have settings anymore... I set permissions rights..any thoughts?

you need to push settings apk in to system/Priv-app
also check if there any settings.odex file should not be there if there is one then delete and reboot
should be done

Nop there is no any.odex file..i know for pushiing and i already did that.. but when i do that and restar my phone there is no settings app..
This is the steps i took:
1.First, deodexed the ROM
2.Flash this MOD
3.Enable superuser mod in Xperia Xposed KK
3.download RaR file and extract it
4.Copy the file in system folder cause i can change permissons int that folder
5. than replace the file in folder private-app
6.reboot the phone
but when phone is reboot there is no settings..

I had installed this vivid mod and its working perfectly on t2 ultra dual on stock odexed rom 4.4.3.
U have no need to deodexed ur rom.

[Q] systemui apk changing problems

Hello guys, i modded systemui for my z1 compact by myself and i replaced it with root explorer, i also deleted. Odex file but after reboot systemui didnt work, does anyone know how to change it and make it work, i was doing thst on xperia E and it worked, dont know why doesnt work here

Maybe you have old frameworks(from xperia e)installed?

I'm also having similar problems trying to modify Systemui.apk. I've tried it with apktool for android (ver. 4.1) and even without any modification, after recompile I have no nav bar or wallpaper. Maybe XperienceD could shed some light on this for us. Please?

Modding is best done with deodexed files so if you've just modded the odexed SystemUI then you should have left the odex file in place as that has resources the SUi needs to work, whereas deodexing essentially puts those resources into the apk.

99% of the time I edit manually for reasons explained in my Apk & Theming thread so you'll have to report any issues with an all in one tool to it's developer.

[Q] bravia engine 2 not compatible in deodexed framework files?

when i try to deodex all framework files with baksmali and smali jar, is done with great and try to port to framework of my xperia m and go to reboot. after reboot deodex process is complete, and when i try to move all bravia engine 2 file to my system i've got a little problem when i want to move com.sonyericcson.uxp.jar from bravia engine is only 4kb with classes.dex include in .jar file. but in my stock deodexed framework file com.sonyericcson.uxp.jar is 14kb? is this a very big different? can i replace it? if i can , what i must do? only replace that file? but when i do that bootloop happen after i reboot. and bootloop happen to when i replace that file with included old .odex file from my framework before deodex process?
what i must do? is bravia engine can't work with deodexed framework file? or something is missing from me?

Replacing framework files can and WILL cause bootloops if you don't run the stop command through ADB shell to stop the phone from using them. You are trying to replace files what the phone is actively using, stopping the phone from using it part way through the replacement and thus only part of the file is replaced.
Why don't you just use files what have already been deodexed for you instead of doing it the hard way around? Like I have got deodexed files for the two 4.3 versions for both SS and DS, paper13579 created a guide to show you how to properly replace system apks and system framework files. Check it out, themes & apps section.

ya i know, i deodexed my current rom 15.4.A.1.10 from my xperia m, and i replace it all in app and framework in my system and after reboot all working correctly and when i try to move file from bravia engine 2. and replace com.sonyericsson.uxp.jar,set permission to rw-r-r (i don't use any adb to move folder and deodexed files to my system, because i don't have any problem with error without adb) , reboot. Done with bootloop? so what i must do ? BE 2 can't run in deodexed framework? or i must do some modification in this jar file?

You should use ADB as you can corrupt files you're moving and end up in a bootloop. You said the framework file you had with BE2 was only 4kb? I think that may be a problem. It should be around 13kb-14kb. Can you link me to the thread (if applicable) of where you are trying to port BE2 from? I'll have a look, see if I can work it out. And you're using the 15.4.A.1.10 build for definite? Not one of the earlier 4.3 or 4.1 builds for the SS and not one of the 4.3 or 4.1 builds for the DS?

I've already got that firmware, it you can find the thread where you get instructions for porting BE2 let me know and I'll look into it.
The problem about your framework file being 4kb once you've 'ported' BE2, it should still be around 13-14kb.

So that's a problem ? One question from me, is this com.sonyericsson.uxp.jar from BE2 is already deodexed or not? Because is very small size I think?

[SOLVED]Can't edit SystemUI.apk on galaxy A5 lollipop

Hey guys, so i really hate touchwiz and there's no ROM for A5 so i just wanted to edit some things in SystemUI.apk (i did this editing before and i was successful) but after upgrading to lollipop everytime i change every single thing in the apk after rebooting i get "unfortunately SystemUI has stopped" and the only thing i can do is to delete it from system and replace it with the stock one and reboot.

Resolusltion not solution! And I did it as I messaged you. Changing resolution of the files, put them in the right folder (A5 was xhdpi) And compress them to apk again And put it in the system And finally reboot
