Hard reset is done by holding down power button for 40 seconds.
hard reset
Just like you would do it with an Android phone. Hold the power button for about 10 seconds.

I have an X51v, US English version with A12. I can't seem to activate the SD Boot Loader no matter how I try. I have:
- pressed wireless, waited 1 second, pressed power, waited a couple seconds, then tapped reset and held the first two, and all that comes up is the hard reset screen.
- Tried hard resetting and then the above.
- Tried holding the reset longer
- Tried pressing wireless and power simultaneously
- Tried with the SD in and without
- Tried in the cradle and out
- Yes, the hold switch was in the correct position
I just want to try WM6! Anything I'm missing? I've ready every post on all the forums, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks!

Press wireless and power at the same time.
Then press the reset button. Keep the wireless and power held down until you see the SD Boot Loader.
Thanks, how long do I hold them down?
Will I see the hard reset screen first and then the boot loader after? I held them down for 30+ seconds after the hard reset screen came up and nothing. Maybe there's something wrong with mine.
Thanks!

Try this -
Hold down all three for a count to 10 (or so) and before you see anything, release the reset button. See if that works for you.
Nope, same thing, hard reset screen... mine must be broken somehow. The wireless button does work, when its on. Does the device need to be turned on, in the cradle, or anything special? I've tried it several ways.
I might try it on a friends X51v to see how it works on his.
Thanks
Fixed my problem though

[Solved] Same problem Fire phone stuck at boot logo (breathing but not responsive)
I had a similar issue with Fire Phone.
Have sideloaded Google services and Play and used it for like a month, when it got stuck at boot logo (breathing but not responsive).
I have tried to restart it numerous times, connect it to the PC, but i had no ADB.
Push and hold the Power button for 20 seconds, the phone will vibrate briefly and restart.
It has deleted some shortcuts from GNL, everything else seems to work.

Just power off the phone. Power it back on with pressing the volume button down and the power button at the same time, when the LG logo appears release the power button for a couple of seconds and press it again till you boot into the factory reset menu. Then you just have to select yes two times and then your phone will boot up TWRP Recovery. Don't be afraid of the factory reset menu, this is how the LG G4 boots into TWRP, it wont reset your phone. :good:

With keys (power and volume down), the factory reset screen appears two times (you have to accept both times and enter twrp).
Beware, if you do not have twrp installed, the factory reset is real (if you have twrp installed it really will not).
If the mobile starts, you can try the reboot.apk app to restart directly in twrp
