[Q] What am I doing wrong here?!? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

This is driving me absolutely bonkers. I know how to use Odin, I've used it many times before with the Samsung Galaxy S one, 2, 3, and 4. I have this Sprint L710 S 3 here that I've got in download mode. I am using Odin 3.07 and trying both the MK3 and MD4 stock ROMs and neither of them want to load! Odin keeps getting stuck at "Initializing" or "SetupConnection" or it keeps telling me it has failed. I've restarted the phone into download mode, taken the battery out and back in, etc, etc. but these stock ROMs will NOT load. What else can I do to force these to load???

what rom is your S3 currently on? if its on ND8 or NDC don't flash MK3 or MD4 cause you'll brick the phone and my Odin 3.09 does the same depending on how big the .tar file is.....but it never stays stuck for long

AT&T Galaxy SIII Bricked While Trying to Flash Back to Stock... Desperate For Help
Had my AT&T Galaxy S III rooted, stock ROM. Was having some issues after rooting so I decided to go back to bone stock, completely unroot so I flashed the I747UCALEM build from these forums on Odin 3.07. Needless to say the phone was held up mid flash, and I got a "FAIL" in Odin. When I tried to reboot the phone, I got a "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again" When I reboot the phone this comes up and it's almost like a permanent download mode. I tried to reflash in Odin to unbrick the phone and it fails every single time.
Am I completely screwed? If I send it back to Samsung like this they'll see the that I rooted (didnt trip the flash counter) and void my warranty. Not sure what to do here. Thanks for any advice guys.

Sounds like you got a bad file re-download the AT&T software again from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737848 make sure you have Kies disabled i do think if its running in the background odin won't flash right don't hold me to it.and as long as you can get in download mode you should be able to fix it.also check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727443

Hmm this actually happened to me first time I tried to root (stupid computer fell asleep mid flash) however I was just able to reenter download mode and flash again, curious though , what did the screen say and where In the flash process did the Odin fail, for Me luckily it was 2/3 of the way through flashing system so I didn't have much to worry about. Though I imagine if it was writing something important like the sbl or somethimg and it failed you might be in trouble . All in all I would say try flashing again a few times maybe the file you downloaded is bad.

Downloading the UCALEM build from that link now on my laptop (my PC is notorious for connection issues with this phone, I should of known) and I'll pray for the best. Thank you very much for the help, I'll post back once I'm on my way.
I can't even download either firmwares. The direct downloads stop for some random reason at around 33 MB and there's 0 seeders for the torrent versions. Any other way to get these firmwares? Samsung updates isn't being nice tonight.

The update is in Kies as well.
Finally got the update to download, used a different browser. Flashed the new build through Odin and it worked, unbricked the phone. Apparently it is the connection through my regular PC. Thanks for everyones help!

Is there any hope left for me?

I decided to revert my phone back to stock. So i downloaded the stock rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27987827&postcount=1 and then bought mobile Odin.
I put the tar file on my phone and ran mobile Odin to flash the firmware. My phone only had 14% battery life left but i thought that was enough for a 3-5 minute flash.
However after like 30 seconds my phone shut off.
When ever i try to turn it on the screen slowly turns purple-pinkish filling up the whole screen and then slowly goes back to black. Same thing happens if I try to go into recovery mode.
However my phone does go into download mode and odin recognizes it. However when I try to flash any tar it always fails.
I tried to flash the stock firmware, vralec, and vralf and they all fail. Is there anything I can do now?
Please help.
bump?
Don't flash Verizon firmware to a T-Mobile phone.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-T999&pcode=TMB#firmware.
Download T999UVDLJC.
Use Odin to flash it.

VRALEC and VRALF2 are firmware from an SCH-I535, aka the Verizon S3. Not sure how you ended up with them, but it's not for the SGH-T999.

Odin mode only (never rooted)

Been trying all weekend to help my brother-in-law get a working phone again after a failed stock OTA update to 4.3.
Sprint told him it couldn't be fixed, so I wanted to give this a try before shelling out money. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369125&highlight=odin+mode+only
It took a while but I got Odin to install the stock 4.3 update. It ran fine and Odin said passed. I'm not sure what happened, but it never did boot up on the reboot. Now I'm stuck with no recovery or bootmode (both give vibration like the phone is starting, but just black screen forever.) I can get to download mode on the phone, without the memory card work around. But Odin (doesn't seem to matter what version, or USB ports/cords) gets stuck at either Setting up Connection or Initialization.
I've tried updating the PIT file, recovery (stock or CWM/TWRP), and both the 4.3 & 4.1.2 stock firmware updates and none of them have worked. I also tried a stock 4.1.2 one-click with data wiping, which failed at "Get PIT for Mapping".
I'm completely baffled and would appreciate any suggestions!

Galaxy s6 screen not reacting

So I am pretty sure I messed up bad. Like really bad. So I tried rooting my sprint GS6 with the files meant for the t-mobile GS6. Now I am exhausted trying to figure out how to reverse this mess. The screen on my phone now is unresponsive. I tried factory resetting it and the screen still wont react to any of my touches. I tried to flash it with the firmware but every time I try to load the GS6's firmware in to odin3 it crashes. If you can give any help or suggestions I will be extremely grateful. Thank you.
Maybe this can help:
I still use Odin 3.10.6 - http://www.samsungodindownload.com/download/odin-download.zip
And the latest firmware build: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995306913
Odin can be finicky, you might need to try different cables and USB ports until you find a combo that works. Once your phone is detected in Download mode, that TAR file should get you back up and running.

Odin3 crashes, but I have found that if I leave it alone for 5 minutes Odin3 doesnt respond but eventually comes back with the .tar file loaded. I am using 10.7 version of Odin3. I tried to flash my GS6 with the stock firmware for lollipop and now it just loads to the sprint screen when turning on and it stays there or it loads to the first screen that says Samsung Galaxy s6 and stays there until I force turn it off. Thank you for responding.

Tab SM-210 won't boot anymore, even after installing stock firmwares

Hi,
I recently got a SM-T210 from a friend to repair. The description given was that their kids factory reset the unit and won't boot anymore. First the tablet had the death sleep issue which is a easy fix. But after that the tablet simply continues to show the "Samsung GALAXY TAB3" boot screen and never finishes booting.
As I'm known with Odin I simply downloaded the original firmware from sammobile for this tablet and took the firmware version for the Netherlands as that's where I live. There are 2 4.4.2 versions available and downloaded them both. When using Odin 3.09 and higher I simply cannot install the firmware, but on Odin 3.07 it can. Although it installs the tablet still fails to boot properly and hangs at the tab logo as described earlier.
With Odin 3.09 or higher I'm not even able to install the firmware as it says that there is no PIT file and NAND flash write fails. I've found 2 PIT files for this tablet on the forums and even with the use of these PIT files it still errors with the same issue and installation seems impossible with these versions of Odin.
I've also tried installing TWRP recovery but that won't boot either. When booting the tablet with volume key up it shows the Andriod icon with the spinnng "intestines" and alot of red error messages show not able to find /system and /data. My guess is that this is pretty bad, but that is what I want to fix with the stock firmwares and/or the PIT files (LT02.pit and T210(R).pit).
I'm currently out of ideas to revive this tablet and almost start thinking that it's completely dead, but before throwing it in the garbage bin I'm wondering if anybody here is able to help me further with this issue.
If you think you miss critical information, let me know so I can supply it!
Any help is greatly appreciated and thanked for!

Thanks, I've tried it with Kies but it won't even recognize the tablet. When I put it in Download mode and connect it to my computer the Kies welcome screen keeps switching every 2 seconds to the connecting screen, back to the welcome screen and keeps on going like that.
Any ideas left?

Except for correct drivers etc etc not really, no.
I am facing same problem.
My Tab 3 (Sm-T210) has gone too.
Now I can't restore it.
I have downloaded Stock ROM from sammobile.org,
but I can't extract this properly.
It always says that "files are corrupted".
I am also going to be hopeless as like as you.
