Hey Guys,
I have a stock 4.4.2 firmware that i flashed via Odin just today. No problems on the phone, can connect to the wifi, receive and send sms and calls
I was trying to root it using CF Auto Root but this process keeps on failing. What's the best way to go?

Hey it worked. Thanks a bunch! Now time to update my CWM recovery to the latest one. Should i do it using ROM Manager or should i flash CWM via Odin?

If you have rooted as above linked I would recommend to flash latest CWM as zip through recovery, but nothing wrong with other ways mentioned.
thanks sir. *Searching for the latest CWM zip

CWM DOWNLOAD
Thanks! Finally got my Note 2 flashed with One+ One conversion kit. wahoo!
there is no update on CF autoroot ATM.. so better stick with the method in the link given. Its the easiest way around.

Hi.
I have an AT&T Nitro with rooted ICS Official.
I tried to install CWM Recovery with ROM Manager to no avail. I always get this screen:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I also tried to flash it with ADB but I get the same results!
Phone works OK, but I can't flash custom roms! Now that we have Official Stable CyanogenMOD 9!
Any suggestions?
You're going to have to go through the unbrick guide, downgrade to Gingerbread, install CWM via Rom Manager there, and then if you *really* want LG's ICS, install HO!NO!'s CWM-flashable version.

Thanks for the clear answer my friend.
And what about the baseband? Is it also updated when I flash ICS thru CWM Recovery?
I assume that after the unbrick guide I will end with an old baseband.
Best Regards.
I think HO!NO! had the ICS baseband/firmware in his installer, but the GB baseband and firmware don't seem to cause any problems. And also, for what it's worth, Ricardo from CyanogenMod advises using the Gingerbread baseband/firmware with CM9/10.

Is the same process as flashing cwm? are there any guides to get stock recovery back on?
is there anything I'll lose when flashing the new recovery?
Will i lose root? if so will rootkeeper work?
bump
I'm not new to flashing Android. I'm on Virgin Mobile's L710, and I'm rooted. I'm having trouble getting a custom recovery to function on my phone. I've tried CWM and I've tried TWRP. I am flashing them via Odin v3. Also, and related...Nandroid Backup Manager gives me permission errors when opening it.

Just so you know, all the CDMA ones have been merged with the d2lte... So that's where you go to get the latest

Cool, glad it worked
I happen to have a spare L710 lying around, unfortunately it is unable to connect to my computer(or charge anymore for that matter), but i would like to flash the new ND8 rom from the OTA. for me to do this i need to get my digital hands on the stock recovery for MK3 so i can flash it either via CWM or Mobile ODIN. any one have the file or know where it is online? im really tired of googling for it and comming up empty......
Think you will have to do it this way-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565972

Unfortunetaly i cannot use odin because my phone WILL NOT CONNECT TO MY COMPUTER. the usb/charge port on the phone is bad, and its not under warrenty. sorry for the caps, but since it wasnt read the first time i figured a bit more force was necessary.
but i found a solution to my own problem. i extracted the recovery image from the mk3 tar.md5, and created a CWMR flashable zip. once i have tested it i will upload in case anyone wants/needs it
stock recovery for MK3 for flashing in CWMR.
Thank you so much. I've been looking everywhere for this flashable zip.

Rooted is out-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2741413
Alright folks, I'm losing my mind here...
I recently flashed the ND8 stock and am attempting to get root using the CF auto root. Odin tells me that everything has has finished properly. When I restart the phone the auto-root appears to complete, then the phone restarts. Root checker says no root.
I have tried different cables, usb ports, computers. I have had odin's auto restart checked and unchecked, flashed philz recovery. USB debug is on. Still no root! What am I doing wrong? I'm not a noob, nor am I a dev, but this is the first time in 6 six different phone models that I have failed to get root by following the directions provided by those smarter than me.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry, but I've never used cf autoroot.
I would:
Flash the latest Philz.
Go into "philz settings" and click "re_root system (supersu)"
If the above doesn't work, search the Web and download update_supersu_. Zip (actual file name will include version #)
Go back into philz and flash the su file.
If SuperSU crashes after attempting to open, go to Google store and "update" SuperSU.

nice to hear that it worked but if someone is looking and for whatever reason they don't want to use odin i have confirmed that Towel Root app will work on stock 4.4.2
I used cf auto root to root my phone, I had to do it a few times to make it stick.
