I wonder if i can use my tab s for download ( like torrent or download managers) to download large files like movies and tv shows , is this will affect its hardware or its performance , in other words is this device designed to handle these tasks like pcs or not
Thanks

So it is ok to use it for downloading large files
Depends on what you call large? The movies I download can be up to 1.5gb, download with no probs.
Yes especialy if you have a very good, fast, unli data connection

i also download torrents on occasion but use newsgroup NZB's as well and both work perfectly and some of these are 8GB+ files
For downloading I use Utorrent and ADM without any problems dealing with large files.
I don't use torrent but download from seedbox using LoaderDroid, it support Download booster
File size from 1GB to 12GB

I think you're in the wrong thread.
On topic, I have no problems downloading big files on my Tab S either (both on internal or µSD card).

Any place I can purchase and then download movies to play on my Atrix?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Your best bet would be to take the movie files off your computer and runt hem through a converter. The atrix can play almost every popular format. Unless you're trying to buy/download from the phone to the phone, I don't think there's an app for that.

If you want a service just use netflixx or something of that nature.I don'tuse it personally but I hear it works well on hk 2.34 at least... Then you could watch practically any movie you want!
Try the Handbrake software to convert files if you have them already.

+1 for this. I use handbrake all the time to convert my movies and they play great on the atrix. I usually use the apple tv preset and then it works with my phone and my apple tv.

You can do it wirelessly, but you might get some lag(not good for games) using the Allshare Cast Dongle. Otherwise you might look at doing MHL to HDMI and using a PS3/Xbox controller. Not sure of the specifics, but here is a great video explaining all different ways.

List some must have apps for your Note 4. Apps that really take advantage of the s pen and big screen.
From the Samsung app store I downloaded "My Script Calculator". Is pretty awesome and accurate, at least for basic math problems. Worth checking it out.
infinite painter is the best drawing program for any note phone. i believe he originally wrote it for a note and adapted it for others.
INKredible
- Papyrus
- S Pen Toolbox
- Autodesk Sketchbook Pro (old version prior to them ****ing previous customers in the ass with IAP'S available on the original pro version)
- Commandr
- Calendar+
- Mobdro (available on mobdro.com it's for streaming sports games etc)
I use OneNote to take notes for school. Usually in class I take the notes on my Note 10.1 2014. But when I'm out and about, like today in sim lab, I took notes with the Note 4. OneNote syncs and I can see my notes on my tablet, phone, and computers.
I paid for Papyrus, but mostly use OneNote now as it is easier for me to import lots of pdfs and ppts and keep it all organized.
Also, I downloaded Plex free from amazon the other day and videos from my Synology look great on the Note 4's screen.

If you have a Chromecast, you already know that our device does not support Cast Screen feature. (The feature to mirror our device's screen). But I downloaded Icarus to watch the movies stored on my phone through the Chromecast.

Everything about Chromecast is working for me. I just got my Note 4 yesterday though, so there's probably been an update.
I am not a fan of mobile games so could someone suggest me some good apps that I should download?
Plex is superb.
OneNote is a must.
Tapatalk and Relay are very good.
Google music for my music necessities.
Carcassonne is one of my favorite games if you're interested in trying a new one.

Just use Samsung browser in night mode and go to read comic.to
Why would ya cast netlfix to Chromecast that's so dumb when it can directly play from that or TV.
Read draw on PDFs already tab s3 comes with Adobe and with write capabilities

The Netflix app has a cast button which loads Netflix on the Chromecast then using the phone/tablet you select what you wanna watch, so in a sense the Android app is like a remote for the Chromecast. Kinda dumb why you would judge without knowing what your talking about. Also my tab didn't come with Adobe. Sorry i don't do things like you.

Sorry to see you are so far behind in the world.
I guess you don't got a smart TV then. Android TV? Voice control?
It's not like YouTube to TV so that sucks for you.
Going through all that trouble.
You know, what you're doing there is actually a setting u can call it a trick but I don't know if I wanna tell you.
And honestly since ya don't got a HDR TV I suppose it's better to watch on tab itself ...
Well about Adobe, man I give up. Some people just don't apply logic. You must be one of those older generation or some rich dude who doesn't spend or just some retard.
Then again I'm a Mensan so I won't judge. You live your tier 3 life man, AI is what's happening in case you missed it.
And by the way, I absolutely know what you're talking of would have been better to buy a compute stick instead of Chromecast coz google really rapeyd ya on that one.
Lol
And Netflix is so 2010 nowadays a psarip will do.
Amazon people don't rip much.
Also I'm just paying 7 USD per year for it.
I tried Nextflix too and I paid for a month as well.
Not worth plus the internet it sucks it's better to just torrent from uni

We have the usual.
TV apps
Games
S Pen apps (drawing, games & colouring)
Communication & News
If you want names, lemme know.
Stock Samsung Notes app for taking notes using S Pen features.
Enable 'Video Enhancement' hidden setting menu so you can enjoy HDR content using: MX Player HD & HD+ modes, Samsung Video Player, YouTube Vanced with enforced HDR.
Flud as a torrent download mgr.
Smart View for casting content to smart TV.
Microsoft 365 Word, Excel, PP, and OneNote for productivity
WPS Office for PDFs.
Microsoft exFAT/NTFS enabler for USB OTG + FX file mgr.
Send Anywhere, Pushbullet, Chrome, Package disabler+.
and finally Wall of fame for amoled wallpapers.
These are all art apps. Markers is completely free..as in FOSS no ads, available to download source, modify and compile yourself (from github--playstore has compiled binary of course)etc.
The others are proprietary and...not terrible. Autodesk has made sketchbook pro for win/OSX (they're the same to me) .. totally free, not sure about sketchbook for android as I bought it years ago and cant tell if its paid or not since it's on my tablet.

Hey,
is there any good web browser for Android TV, that can be easily controlled with the remote controller? Something like Puffin TV, but not Puffin, because I don't want my data to be transferred at half of my connection speed thru 3rd party servers on the other side of the world.
Hi,
VEWD Browser (Opera) is available for some vendors (or it is directly integrated into tv firmware); https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.opera.tv.browser.sony.dia&hl=de

Thanks, but it has really bad reviews, and it is not compatible with my device.
Probably I should write that I have Mi Box S, and it probably does not belong here, but I didn't find any general Android TV forum here.

Firefox for Android TV works fine. It will take some time to get used to it, but in the end, you will find it ok.
Google chrome the best try it and tell us what do you think

@Ja_som I am still to find a short cut or button to close the Firefox. I skip to " Home " screen and then shut down the TV.
i usually use Puffin , is more fluid on navigation and have easy controls for bookmarking pages ,
I have found that lex.com.webbrowser has worked best for my TCL android 8
Although puffin is good but sometimes lacks
