Hi friends,
Since my SGH-T989 is bricked i couldn't repair it on any service store in my country. They told me that SGH-T989 it's a rare model and we don't have the right support for the JTAG service.
I was thinking about of buying a new phone, but first i wanna to consult with you guys, about experiences with SmartPhones from Hong Kong.
They are too damn cheap compared with other countries.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Samsung...1041813229?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item257ed70eed
I have found this item on eBay for 172$ and i am worried about if this item would be original as my bricked SGH-T989 that was bough in NY/USA.
What do you think about, should i buy this phone ?
I will install CyanogenMod to this phone because i can't live without it, do you think it will support CM ROM ?
Thank you in advance.
Why buy another S2 when you can get a new moto G for that price, or a used upgrade of some type.

i have a budget of 200$, what do you think is the best smartphone i can buy with 200$
I only know about so many phones. A 16gb Moto G would be nice. Or check out used ones in your price range. Google them and compare to the G... Like "moto G vs whatever" so your search phrase.
If you like flashing things... You could get an N4 used for that price. A little more and an N5 maybe. A moto X for a bit more, but not much to do for flashing. And watch the moto's... Verizon, AT&T and Republic wireless have bootloader that can't be unlocked.
There's probably S4's near that price. Maybe. S3 isn't a very good upgrade, a little, but not much.
Not sure about other makes myself tho.

You have to consider SD card slot though too, if you use it.

Mobile.dailysteals.com is selling the Samsung galaxy nexus for 559.99 + 4.99 shipping for only today, I'm thinking about picking one up as this is the best price we will probably see in months.

Order one. Hope it gets here soon.
I think i will order one too but im not sure how good the website is and how and how they would act if you need warranty work.. I might give them a call and ask.. ill edit my post later with their response!
DailySteals DOES NOT have phone support.. Now im not so sure what to do :/
Just took the plunge and ordered one from DS - I hope I don't regret it. Paid via PP, so if there's an issue - I can hopefully get my money back fairly easily.
This is the lowest price I've seen on it, and I've been watching Amazon - lowest there is $654.99 (includes shipping).
Fingers crossed that all goes well with this transaction...
Ordered one as well. Wonder what build it will come with.
They are a very legitimate website, I know people who've ordered form them they usually have some good deals
Also I think it includes a 1 year international Samsung warranty

but in the end, they are ALL the same.
Condition: New Packaging: Retail Warranty: 1 Year International Brand: Samsung Model: Galaxy Nexus i9250. It says this under the info
Anybody have any experience with this site? Is it a legit seller? Why is it $100 cheaper than everybody else? I'm skeptic because i fear there is a catch. Too good of a deal.
International warranty does not apply to usa. Check amazon reviews of many samsung international phones to verify.
My grandma beat me down and took my nexus. Sent from a jitterbug with beats by dre.
I had a unlocked htc touch pro 2 and the international warranty worked for me when i dropped my phone in coffee. They charged me a $28 international warranty fee + shipping to chicago.
I don't see why samsung would be any different.
I read on another forum that the website is known to sell black market items and one thing that they are know for is their long shipping time.. I think they are legit but it might take time for us to receive the phone..
ive purchased from them before they usually take a week to ship out the items and they always use ups and give you a tracking number if that helps
This was pretty much the price point I've been waiting for. Ordered.
Let's just hope it doesn't need any warranty service.

So, if i buy this today and something better comes out at CES, how long do i have to cancel my order? I'm pretty sure it's not going to ship before CES.
I am almost sure something better will come out at CES from either HTC or Samsung but for me its not the octo core, 148 megapixel camera.. Its that this is a NEXUS phone! FTW!
Ive been planning an upgrade from SGSAdvance to GNexus. So there's an online internet shop selling galaxy nexus for a very low price and as for the shop itself i can say that it is a trustworthy shop. I doubt that this phone might cause some problem. So what do you think? I dont know if im making a good decision or not. I need your opinions guys. Btw they told me that it is already F.Unlock. I need your opinions asap. Thanks

If you can wait for the new Nexus from lg, it is much more future proof and same price as gnex on Google store. Unless of course the gnex you're buying is a real steal.

Yes it is a real steal. The price of this phone is only 15.5k here phil. Am i gonna have a problem because this phone came from hongkong?

agree with this but... if the gnex you are getting is really cheap.. i would say get it and then when the n4 is out you can either sell it and buy that or keep the gnex
I guess youre right. Any idea when will n4 release? And in what price? Thanks!

i don't think you'll have any problems with that Gnex, unless it's a Verizon/Sprint model. Otherwise, all Gnex' are essentially the same. I personally know someone who bought the Japan version (SC-04D) but is using it like it's the internation i9250 model with no glitches whatsoever

I am also from the Philippines and also bought my gnex from an online store there. Be careful though because when I bought mine last May I had a problem with my first local online store (found out that they were selling software unlock gnex) and had to refund. Found out later that the second online store were i bought mine was better and trusted. Buy from the store located in binondo.

There's a local shop that sells used phones and new one as well, the seller showed me a Samsung galaxy s3 for 280$, but it has no manufactures warranty the seller gave me 10 days warranty from the shop, from there I started having doubts about the phone, because he gave me only 10 days so maybe the phone is corrupt, but it is in excellent condition at the outside. The new one costs 400$, so I'll be saving 120$, the phones in my country are highly expensive. So it's either that phone or a new Samsung Galaxy s3 mini OR a Moto G. What do you recommend me?? What I basically want to know is if a second handed GS3 will face any problems?
You're taking a risk buying any used phone. I mean if you're buying it from a shop.. Hopefully it's got a clean esn etc. 280 seems a bit pricey for such an old phone though. No Craigslist in your country?

Nobody use craigslist around here, and yeah 280 is expensive but around here everything is expensive, I am not in a hurry buying a phone, but should I go for it or the S2 plus? or the Moto g?
Got my S3 on Amazon for $30 over six months ago. My point is there are deals out there all the time that should trump buying a used device.

I bought a clean ESN Sprint Galaxy S3 on eBay for $155 shipped in great condition. Hard to know what a good price is "around there" without knowing where "there" is.
The SIII Mini and the Moto G both have drawbacks IMO. Off the top of my head, reviews for the Mini suggest the display doesn't look so hot, and re: the Moto I wouldn't touch a phone with no SD slot (and you're aware it's limited to 3g, right?). If the GS III is fully working now, there's nothing that's going to creep out of nowhere unless you drop it.
I just started using this GS3 and I think it's a great great phone.

hey guys ive been looking for a new phone and this one seems to tick all the boxes but while looking for info on it ive found that there are a few different versions like f240 and l-04e and e980 and e986 and a few more lol, but im the sunny uk so im not sure if it will make a difference which one i buy? also does anyone have any suggestion where the best place to buy one of these phones from?

I did a lot of research before buying my OGP, as well. Swell device and I am more than satisfied with it. We have a small development community, but just enough to give you a taste of just about everything.
Go for one of the E98X ones. The F variants seem to have an even smaller development community here on XDA. You'd have to rely on Chinese and Vietnamese sites which are dominantly stock-based ROMs.
Not sure where you'd get one as I got mine through AT&T.

I don't really think so. Most ROMs say E980 (AT&T variant) but works on all E98X models (I think).

I'm also in the UK and I brought mine of ebay but now it is broken and the seller doesn't care. I would be very careful as the phone will obviously be an import so the warranty will not work in the UK. LG UK will not fix your phone, even if you pay for it. Many online shops, such as simply electronics, may take a long time to ship to you as they may have to get the device delivered from hong kong etc. Also, most of these online shops have none existent customer services and they won't reply if you have a problem. From looking at google shopping, there doesn't seem to be anywhere in the UK who will help you if your phone breaks. However, if you do buy from shops such as simply electronics and value basket, you should eventually receive the product.
Why don't you get the LG G2? It is only £320 on Amazon UK.

All this said, I think swappa.com may be the best place to buy a US model in the UK (if one ever comes up). Swappa is an XDA offshoot and they have a very good system for matching buyers with sellers at fair prices. I just sold a phone there for a little less than I paid for it to someone who didn't seem to know much about what he was buying but it all worked out fine. They do not charge sellers. Buyers pay a flat $10USD. Another advantage is the built in protections of PayPal. I would not hesitate to buy from Swappa, although their prices tend to be somewhat higher than ebay's due to the buyer fee and shipping included in the asking price.
A few (not most) US sellers will ship internationally.
Here's one: LG Optimus G Pro (Unlocked) For Sale - JCP297 - $400 > Swappa - http://is.gd/tLP8aL
F240s,said to be mint. With international shipping will probably cost more. Keep in mind that a locked AT&T e980 is now $370 direct from the carrier. Of course given UK prices this might still be less expensive than ordering locally.

The problem with paying with paypal is that in the uk, if the worst happens, you can get your credit card company (not debit card) to give you the money back, but you are paying paypal, not the seller directly, so you can have problems with getting your money back, especially if the seller is an individual, not a business.
I have found an almost new Moto Z Play on eBay for £238, is this still a good buy? I have a Nexus 6P and the battery is beyond bad, I wand decent performance, screen and headphone audio, plus amazing battery life. I can't find it brand new anywhere in the UK (apart from for £338 on Amazon). So would I be stupid to buy it for £238 from eBay? I've heard that the performance is deceptively good for a mid-ranger!
Thanks.

I was in John Lewis MK and they were selling it for £260 sealed last month.
I've had a look online and no retailers have it now I think last month was pretty much the last month it was sold.
Just checked, they sell almost every moto phone but the Z play!
Let me know if you see one anywhere?
