I recently did a factory reset on a rooted G Pro but now the power button will not wake the phone. Everything else works fine and the home button works when the phone is already awake but will not wake the phone. This is still the stock ROM with nothing but root done to it. I can't anything about this exact problem and the threads I have found that were close to the same problem didn't shed any light on it. Can anyone please help?

Had not intentionally, but it's possible one of the mods installed had. I did a software update and it all started working again. Thanks for trying to help anyway!

I have some issues on Arc S after upgrading to 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.587) and I did not solve it, yet .. so, is there any chance to avoid using power button as screen off/lock option? .. any widget I use does not shut down screen, in a second it goes back on .. and where is the auto-brightness screen set up, manual slider is the only option?
thanks!

HELP PLEASE SOMEONE! :crying::crying:
My ROGERS Samsung Galaxy SIII LTE SGH-i747M running Jelly Bean 4.1.1 has a lock screen bug! I have been googling around the web, but still couldnt find anyone with the bug I am having right now, so i am asking for someone to plz help me out here! The bug just started today, my phone is set to "Swipe" mode on the lock screen, so usually I would just need to swipe my screen to unlock my phone, but today, when i press my power button OR home button, my phone turned on, and showed my lock screen for 1 second, and it unlocked by itself. I didnt have to swipe or anything, all i did was pressed my power button OR home button, and it unlocked by itself. I know this is just a minor problem, but it is so annoying! I am sorry if i dont make any sense, because its hard to explain the situation I am having, but plzzz someone help me out here!
Thanks!!!

Goto settings >security and check what they are set at under lock screen. Less security than swipe is none, which means once it wakes up you are on the home screen.

But the problem i am having is that, mine is set at "Swipe", and before the bug happened, i can swipe my screen and unlock, but now, all i have to do is just turn on the screen with power or home button and my lock screen wall paper will show up and then half a second after, it will unlock to my home screen by itself, and it wont let me swipe.
The above bug happens to me sometimes. I then switched to using a pattern on my lock screen.
If I leave the phone unattended sometimes for a few hours, when I "wake" it, it reverts to a "swipe" to unlock instead of my pattern of password that was set. My phone is stock 4.1.1 and not rooted.

Hello.
Suddenly my phone decided to stop activating the screen after I press the power button to wake it up, but the soft keys light up and screen is working even though I am unable of seeing anything.
Also the brightness function not working as well.
Any idea how to fix it or should I send it back to LG?
PS. My phone is not rooted and running factory 4.1.2

explain !
working screen but you cant see anything
brightness function not working on a dead / black screen?
No.
Let's take things from the start. Assuming that the phone is off when I open it the screen is fully functional. As soon as it goes into standby mode or by pressing the power button or after 30 sec or 1 min according to users settings the screen won't start again when you press the power button to wake it up.
As for the brightness setting is not working at all either I choose automatic mode or manually. I can only access the settings when I power on the phone when it is off.
I hope now it is crystal clear.
Try reformatting with new kdz

should have waited or my reply... we are not in same timezone. anyway its seems bsod a simple wipe or even kdz flash would confirm any hardware issue.
Thanks for the reply I will let you know as soon as I take it back....
Was the issue resolved?
Hi,
Just getting this same issue with LG Optimus G E975. Did you have any specific solution for this?

I got the same as OP problem on my stock E971.
I have cm11 and if i power on the tablet and let it a couple of minutes it is freezed at the lock screen. I cant unlock it by swiping the screen and i cant press on the clock widget. If i press the power button it turns on or off the lock screen but i can still do nothing. Only way to restore it is to keep pressed the power button to hard reset the tab. It boots normally then if i unlock the screen and dont let it auto lock. Is anybody else experiencing this issue? It gets really annoying. Could it be the nova launcher because i cant remember this happening before installing it.

Your guess seems to be on the money. Stay away from all those launchers.

yep, i disabled the option from nova settings to autolock the desktop and that seemed to fix it. This option prevents any changes to desktop and it looks like that it conflicted with cm11
Has anyone else had the home button stop working? It has happened to me twice and a reboot restores it. I'm running the stock US Unlocked but rooted RUU.

I've got the same problem. It worked after a reboot when I first got the phone. I put it in extreme power saver mode the next night and when I went back to standard mode my home button wouldn't work. I'm running everything stock, I'm on T-Mobile, I've tried updates, reboots, and a factory reset. Nothing has worked. I read a thread about an older HTC phone that said clearing the cache on HTC Sense worked for them but that didn't help for me either.

Best thing to do is to send it back for service. In my country (Belgium) HTC has great service. The sooner the better!
I've figured it out. How to fix the finger scanner /home button.
Start in your settings.
Then to apps. In apps hit the soft key in the top right corner of the screen. A new window will open up. Tap "show settings" this will show finger scanner app. Scroll down and tap on that app. Now tap "force stop". After this back out to home screen and restart your phone.
This should fix the problem. I had the same issues with my HTC 10. The scanner/home pad not working at all and no longer showing up in the "settings". I tried calling HTC customer care and did a hard reset..... 4x plus did a complete wipe and recovery. But that wouldn't fix the issue as well. So the other day I followed the top description. Now it works with no glitches.
Hope this helps you out.

Hi,
Similar thing happen to me but instead of the finger print my back button and recent app button stop working. The problem starts after i turn on the extreme power server and turn back off. I have tried hard reset and it will only work for few hours and then the same issue comes up. But i have notice if i open google maps both buttons work. I have not rooted the phone. Dose anyone knows how to fix this issue?.
OS : 6.0.1
Build: 1.95.401.4
Did you try to rescan your fingerprint from different positions. And another thing when used to fingerprint. Do you use smartlock setting? I mean maybe it detects you are in a trusted area and you do not even need to unlock it with fingerprint? Then it just shows the lockscreen when you tap it.
Greetings,
Same issue

I have this issue as well - and when I open google maps it works fine from there... Possible that it works from other apps but at other times they are really unresponsive. Did you ever fix your problem?
UPDATE - I just turned extreme power saver mode on then off and it seems to have fixed the issue for the moment...
OMG works!
