[Q] Rooting LT28i claims supported, then not. - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hello. I tried the Rooting program by DooMLoRD. The 2nd requirement on easyxperiaroot(dot)blogspot(dot)ca website is "2)Xperia ion(LT28i) with Firmware Version 6.2.B.0.211 or higher", which mine is ... exactly. When I run the software (with all the proper functions "Enabled"), I get the following message "Device detected: LT28i (6.2.B.0.211) LT28i (6.2.B.0.211) is not supported."
Is there something I did wrong or is my phone not supported?
Can my Sony Xperia Ion LT28i be rooted?
Thank you.

Since rooting directly in 4.0.4 is not possible, one needs to downgrade to a rootable GB ROM to root. (Skip this step if you are already in GB).
To Downgrade, you need to flash an old GB ROM ftf to your device.

You don't need to downgrade to GB to root.

None of them. If you want to root 4.0.4, download THIS and THIS. First downgrade kernel (first link) with flashtool, then use Root toolkit, then upgrade kernel, and you'll have rooted 4.0.4...
If you want to root GB, simple way is to flash .42 and root it with THIS. I still wasn't able to root .62 but I heard there is a way.
P.S. you have to download LT18i firmwares.

Changing the rom has nothing to do with unlocking the bootloader. You need to follow the steps posted here:
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
If after checking the service menu you get bootloader unlock allowed yes, then you can unlock, if the status is missing or says no that means you wont be able to...ever.
If your Ion is the AT&T version (like mine) you are out of luck. The lt28h and i variants can be unlocked though.

You need to edit build.prop - everywhere where u see lt26i u change it to lt26ii. then reboot into recovery and flash ->wait till done -> enjoy. Only thing is when u r up and running then u will see xperia s under device info in settings.
