English OS System 20080801 Edition (ROM image) for M88 MiPhone
Please download from here
If somebody knows how to enter the bootloader mode of this phone please share here with us!
Here is the instruction for this procedure from the supplier which is nor working for me:
"English OS System 20080801 Edition (ROM image) available for download
- To update ROM, format your TF card with FAT32 and unzip all files and folders from the downloaded file into the root folder of the TF card. Then, restart the phone to begin updating. This update converts all non-English versions of this phone into English version."
If somebody can manage to install the ROM please write here the steps!
Thanks!
You can get to the flash update by pressing RESET, MENU, and POWER all at the same time, then release RESET first and wait for a message. The message will tell you to release POWER to do a hard-reset or MENU to do a flash update. In this case, you will release MENU first, then you will get a message asking if you want to update from SD. At this point, none of the buttons do anything so I assume you have to tap the touchscreen. My touchscreen is broken so I couldn't get any further than this.

Thanks for your help, m8. It didn't work that way for me. I was adwised to do this:
1. Duplicate the update.img file and rename the second one as "uploader"
2. Copy both "update.img" and "uploader" on the SD - formatted in FAT32
3. Press POWER and HOME butons at the same time.
4. There are two possible options from here:
a) White screen with blue text showing "Upload image... please wait..."
b) Red screen with the options what to do in the next step -
5. I saw first the a) option - the white screen. So after 3 minutes of waiting the phone said it is done and it will selfrestart. After the restart - voila! There was the English OS loaded on my phone and everything was working perfect!
Hope this to help to other people too!

Check this out:
Resco explorer
Pocket Mechanic
Pocket Toolman
Resco is very useful thing so the other two are very powerful as well. You will definetely uninstall S2U2 with more than one of them.
Good luck!

problems in m89
hello, I recently bought a M89.
In general the phone is great, but mine has a very big problem.
As a PDA it works great, but when I insert my SIM card the phone just freezes. It works for just a minute after the SIM is inserted. I've even been able to make one or two calls before it freezes.
But past one or two minutes it just stops working. It doesn't respond to anything at all, the only solution is to remove the battery.
I think the problem is in the firmware. I've reinstalled a bunch of diferent firmwares: wm6 english, wm6.1 spanish, wm6 english again... and nothing works.
can anyone help me???, 'cause this is really killing me :'(
Thanks in advance!

Just wondering - What is the size of your microSD card.
As far as I know m88 does not support SD card greater that 4 Gb by default.
Please, let us know.
Updated from SD Card ?
Hello, first of all I want to say thank you because I learned a lot from this thread. I bought M88 phone some months ago and is the first time I cannot use ( I really don't know what went wrong but finally the phone is not working or frezze ).
I bought 2Gb card and was formatted in FAT32. I also complete all steps in order to load the original image but I got this message: "updated from SD card?" and nothing more... What button must be pressed ?
I'll go crazy... do you know what's the next step ?
Thank you very much.
i dont understand sorry. i have to copy the "update" imgfile and rename it as "uploader"... and leave this two files : "update and uploader" in the root folder ?
I've install ROM from this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452848
and now, when I try power on my MiPhone - it show only white screen - please help!
bootloading
the file, atleast on windows 7, shows up as "update". Also, I found it works must faster and easier to make 3 copies (4 files total)
naming 1: update.img
2: uploader.img
3: Update
and 4: uploader
(so the last 2 don't actual have .img in the title)
Then just make sure you hold down both the buttons, and vuo-la! haha
Doesn't fix the MMS problem though.
Does anyone know how to make it so that it can use mms?

Hello
I have unlock and root my phone.
In the beginning everything was OK, but when I have try to change my ringtone the phone have freeze and after that is restarting.
I have the same problem if I try to start the iGo software - it starts, but on the first window where I have to select the language it freeze and restart after that.
The same problem if I try to look some movie in internet!
I have made a test with the HTC test program and have find out that every time when the loudspeaker is involved the phone is restarting!
Some ideas?
I have a Kindle Fire that is stock and was NEVER rooted. It was being used and the user said it told them that the space was getting full. He began to remove apps in order to free up space (he's a novice user) and as he was doing this it rebooted and is now stuck in a boot loop. It will flash the kindle fire logo for a few seconds, screen goes black, etc.
I was able to get it connected and accept adb commands. I first was able to reboot it (./adb reboot) and then see it listed as a device (./adb devices). However, it still wouldn't boot up all the way. I've rooted a number of devices before and work with computers for a living so I'm pretty familiar with what's going on, however I know that every device is different. I looked into the different things to do with a Kindle Fire and decided I should try to push the fbmode app to the kindle. When I tried that I got an error saying:
failed to copy 'fbmode' to '/data/local/temp': No space left on device
Any idea what I should do? I don't really want to root the device if I can just get it to run first. What is the best way to free up some storage so that it might boot again?
UPDATE: I've sent the wipe_data and wipe_cache commands to the KF. The screen kinda turns yellow for a second and then reboots and goes back into a boot loop. I can't seem to find another way to clean up space. Help?
Same here
I'm having the same problem. Did you ever find a solutions?

Thanks! Looks like you might be getting somewhere. I'll be anxious to see what you figure out.
Connect it to computer and navigate to Android/data/com.amazon.venezia/cache and delete the entire folder.
This took about 3.51 GB of the Kindle's 4.99 GB of Space! When clearing up after receiving a low storage notification, i saw that the Android folder had over 3 GB so i decided to see if i could clean anything over there.Once I saw that this had 3.51 GB in a cache folder,I googled com.amazon.venezia to see if i could delete it and this post was the first link.:good:Thanks this really helped me a lot and i have no idea why amazon follows this method
I have had this ongoing issue and wondering if anybody has a solution... I download torrents a bit and use the app Atorrent. When the download is completed I am able to view my mp4 within minutes if I try and reopen my download video it won't open? I try moving it to computer and still won't work I would say a corrupt download but why am I able to view it once it's completed and never again? Help please this is so annoying... I have tried trial and error and some videos will receive open some won't... Most won't after I view them once...
Hello,
This is my 1st post, although I have been a follower of the great work many put into responding to requests to Rooting and problem resolution to "normal" users.
In December 2012 I successfully Rooted my Fire 2 and have used it for over a year without issue - recently I chose to change device and donate the unit to a relative. In doing so I decided to revert to stock. Thinking I could uninstall all my apps and reset to Factory Settings, I proceeded. What I found was that I had lost Root access and still had GoLauncher. I wanted to revert to the original Kindle Lanucher but struggled to remove GoLauncher - ultimately I mistakenly set the original Launcher as Default but this not does not function properly for some reason (I get a black screen and can only access the drop down menu functions)
The unit appears to start up correctly with the Kindle Fire logo but I`m now stuck.
I`m looking for help how to resolve this problem.
Many thanks to anyone who offers the benefit of their knowledge
If you can vet past the lock screen and then to a blank screen with a status bar then you can go into the settings> applications look for the kindle launcher and tell it to clear the defaults. If worst comes to worst you could try something more drastic assuming you left USB debugging on you could try renaming the original launcher but you would have to reroot, or you could reboot it I to fastboot and restore with stick images in kffa.

Hi, thanks. Unfortunately when I select Applications I get a black screen - i.e. I cannot access this function with the GoLauncher app remnants still present somewhere on the device.
I`m interested to understand more how to do the Fastboot and restore - can you talk me through the process please ?
More less if you left USB debugging on then just grab a copy of kindle fire first aid and when you run it it usually asks something like "put it in fastboot?" Or something along those lines when you choose restore, just tell it to and your device should boot into fastboot and restore, however if something goes wrong in the reflash it will need a fastboot cable to get it back I to fastboot mode.

Fantastic - all sorted. Many thanks
