Bluetooth in car issue - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When Bluetooth is enabled in my car, i get phone calls, but text messages, and Google Now prompts are silent. Any advice?

Post your radio type and carrier. Compatibility varies between auto manufacturer radios, phones, nation and cellular network type.
For instance, I have a UConnect Chrysler radio which will place calls, receive calls, read texts and send texts using preset messages. It won't read caller id on texts on my gsm g3. I think that one is a national issue since I'm in the US and we don't use the proper + or 1 prefix.
Maybe someone can help if you post those specs.

Bluetooth speaker in my car stops working after I have used the sound mod!

Unusable for conference calling

I use my phone for dialling into conference calls by entering pauses and # to automatically connect me.
I'm having seerious issues with the oneX for this as it can't even dial the tones correctly. it puts in extra numbers for no reason.
The strange thing is it works if i'm using my bluetooth headset, but fails everytime if using speaker or the supplied headset.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I also tried to use meeting auto dialler app from googleplay and this has the same issue.
Yes I am having the same issues. I join many conference calls with passcodes and this thing fails. I even yelled at my operations folks saying why are you sending wrong codes outlol. any help with this

A cellphone accessory for a smartphone?

Is there a accessory/device that I can use to connect to my android phone and use that device/accessory to compose message and do/accept calls on it when someone will call on my android device.
What I mean is for example I will compose a text message on "that device/accessory" which is connected to my android phone and when i send the message i just composed on " that device/accessory" it would then send the message to my android phone and then my android phone would automatically send the message on the network thus i only use one sim and when someone call to my android phone "that device/accessory" would act like a wireless Bluetooth headset?
You can use something like AndroidLost to send and read SMSs remotely from any browser enabled device, but you wouldn't be able to make or answer calls (though you can force the phone to hang up). You should be able to activate calling over bluetooth with any laptop. What exactly did you have in mind for an accessory?
What i imagine is am accessory maybe that look like an old nokia model (those like 3310 and such) but connected top my android phone and whenever i receive a text on my android phone i can read it using that accessory and can reply to that text using that accessory also. And also i can answer calls using it.
Maybe the idea is very closely similar to a sony smart watch but with the ability to send sms and accept calls.
I think you're looking for a bluetooth headset. With the voice recognition google apps in ICS and above, you can easily use a BT headset to compose messages and control your phone.
how do i compose message on a bluetooth headset? is there ab bluetooth headset with screen??
I read this a while ago and I still don't understand.
You're just asking for another phone (makes calls, has a screen big enough you can type messages on it) - that's not an "accessory" - so of course no one makes one. If this isn't just another phone tied to your phone... what do you want ?
A smart watch is what you want, but it doesn't have a big enough screen to type. Make the screen bigger and you literally have a regular phone.
You'd need to connect them over bluetooth, wifi, or cellular network - the last negating having only one SIM and the first meaning they'd need to be in decently close proximity - over wifi would only work if this "accessory" had wifi access and could do what you want.
If you really want a second phone that doesn't use network access - just get one. You can still use it over wifi and you can use Google Voice to retain the same number between devices. You can use various apps to get calls on it as well as sending SMS/IM.
It''s a phone tied to another phone. Imagine it as a smartwatch but i can compose message and does not look like a watch but a phone (looks like those first gen nokia phones). That my sim is on my android phone and whenever i receive message on my android phone it will be send over using bluetooth or wifi network to that phone and when i compose message to that phone it would be send on my android phone and be send to the network.
It's like a reprogrammed nokia phone to act like a smartwatch.

Car bluetooth contact issues

Hi
I don't know if this is maybe a phone issue or an android issue? you have to forgive me as I have finally gone to android from apple after 5 years
I have this really annoying problem now that when my phone pairs with my car on Bluetooth there is no problem with downloading contacts, call history etc except now when I get an incoming call it only displays the number and not the contact name which can be frustrating if it is someone that I don't want to talk too.
All my contacts are mainly UK but I travel abroad a lot so they are stored on google contacts with the international prefix as +44 but when I get an incoming call it shows it as 07**** which is the normal number without the international code and no contact name. I only have this problem with incoming calls in the car on Bluetooth any other time displays name fine.
Any help or ideas would be great .

I think that depends on the car you have. With my car eveything looks fine and shows the contact info. Even with both my mobiles connected (iPhone SE as secondary phone) everything works fine.

Voice of other end drops on telephony calls, and wa as well. Any clue?

Hi, when I'm on a telephony call with my S20+ exynos, one ui 3.0, I can't suddenly hear anymore the voice of the other person. The other person can hear me but I can't hear anything. It happens almost all the time with telephony calls, rarely also with whatsapp calls.
I tried to set 3g only, disabling roaming etc... Never fixed.
Any clue?

Question Any way to disable incoming calls on LTE version?

I have my eSIM configured in my Pixel Watch LTE, and all is working fine so far. However, from time to time I'd look to have my little son wear the watch, when he is out and about alone by himself, so he can call me in case he gets lost, or I can find his location. Generally, this works, but the problem is that the watch also rings when I receive calls: The eSIM is a MultiSIM of my Vodafone contract, so it has the same number as mine in my main phone. Of course I don't want my son to receive my phone calls on the watch.
Is there any way of disabling incoming phone calls, or the the notifications / vibrations of them? Or, ideally, disabling the signaling of any incoming call except if it comes from a certain number (like my own landline)?

I haven't received the watch yet, but it should have Do Not Disturb settings which you should be able to configure as you wish. For instance, your son could receive calls from Starred contacts only, while all the others are blocked.
Edit: See here
" Do Not Disturb: Turn off all notifications and silence incoming calls. Press and hold to customize exceptions for priority and repeat callers, alarms, and media sounds. "
That's the perfect solution, thank you very much!
