[Q] WiFi Direct or SideSync keyboard issue - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I found some issue with WiFi direct using SideSync.
When I make a WiFi direct connection between Tablet S and S5, I see an S5 screen on my Tablet S.
When I want to type SMS from the Tablet S (using S5 screen) the Samsung Chinese IME keyboard pops up- however my default keyboard is a standard Samsung keyboard. Moreover, the Samsung Chinese IME keyboard becomes somehow a defult keyboard.
In addition, when I hit enter or a space bar key I got some code in SMS window "62#SPLIT" see attached picture.
Very strange behavior...
Any solution?

I cant even get the keyboard to display on my Galaxy Tab S so youre doing one better than me lol

I had that issue when I flashed and played around with a newer Asian firmware. This is something I use all the time so had to go back to US firmware. Although I'm using the latest firmware T800XXU1ANH1, not from Asia, that released and SS works fine.

If I will flash new US firmware with Odin- will it raise knox counter?

No, flashing official firmwares should not affect Knox.

[Q] Samsung keyboard issue (Stock JB 4.1.2)

For anyone else using the stock samsung keyboard on sotck 4.1.2, does the autocorrect function properly? For example, if you write "tgat" instead of "that", will it autocorrect? I'm running the stock Koodo 4.1.2, and the keyboard will not correct it. Although it will show the correct "that" in the prediction bar, and highlight with a slightly darker blue. However, in order to correct it I have to press on the correct word, thereby taking away the usefulness of autocorrect.
Have you guys encountered such an issue? Is there any fix for this problem?
Otherwise, I'm quite liking the stock samsung keyboard.

I can confirm this issue on jedi mind trick rom
I've seen that happen for awhile on many roms ....for the 10 minutes I use it after flashing, then I install my backup of Smart Keyboard Pro and all is well!
But yeah....not sure if there's a solution. I've played with stocks settings and it doesn't change. Just a poor keyboard.

[Q] Android 4.2.2 Keyboard AOSP

Hey All,
Jelly Beer's 4.2.2 update worked great on my Samsung S3. However, I went out and purchased a new Note 2 GT-N7100 T-Mobile T889. I love the phone. The only problem is that I got used to the keyboard that the guys included in with Jelly Beer 4.2.2 update. In the Input settings, the keyboard is listed as Android keyboard (AOSP). That's the keyboard that I want.
The one that came with the Note 2 is Samsung's own and it's awful. Yes, yes, yes, I've installed just about every other keyboard out there. I've purchased the paid versions and all. Still, nothing does the job as well as the keyboard AOSP. I was literally going to toss the phone because I can't type on it. Then I started to use the gesture part of it, and I'm getting used to that. However, I still want the AOSP one. I've looked all over in the Play store and nothing.
Does anyone have the direct link or the actual .apk that I can download?
Would really appreciate it.

I am wanting the same thing.
yes, there is a google keyboard in the app store. but its not the same as AOSP, AOSP has the symbols as long hold on the letter keys. and you can long press the "." and slide to choose ?! and others.
I tried pulling out the aosp keyboard from carbon rom, if I just install it, it works, but no sliding to type (like swype) and if I move it to system/app and set permissions, then reset, it just force closes... so... it kind of works... but I would really like to be able to slide type.

[Q]Can TravelLWP and TripAdvisor apps in 4.2.2 work with 4.1.2 by flashing?

Hello everyone this my first topic.
I have gt-n5105 (it is Note 8 but samsung made this product only for Turkey (the communication taxes over here it costs too much). So they block the calling feature then it can pass from custom as a non-communication device. But messaging service (SMS) is not blocked). So i rooted the device and flashed emk3 kernel and one of the geek78's roms xxcmh2 (v4.2.2) to activate the calliing feature (It worked).
Then i decided to buy a multimedia dock for my note 8 and i did some research about compatibility and i have learned that multimedia dock is only work for 4.1.2 firmware (actually i realised that there is no option in settings about docking on 4.2.2 firmware. Yeah they forgot to put that option lol ). And now im thinking about going back to 4.1.2 (its also geek78's xxbmf2 rom) but i am facing with a dilemma because i love the some features of 4.2.2 like travel live wallpaper on lockscreen. And i am wondering that if i make a flashable (together or seperate) zip(s) of the Travelwallpaper and TripAdvisor applications -because they work together- via app2zip application, can i flash these zip files on 4.1.2 in recovery mode properly -i mean without brick the device?
Sorry for the amount of dashes and parenthesis and my bad english
I hope that i expressed my problem clear

Q Remote problem

I remember being on the stock Rom and the remote app having the ability to control a TV and a cable box. I since went to Mahdi Rom and missed some of the stock functionality including the remote.
I opted to flash a custom Rom based on the stock lg rom LRS pad. S far it seems great with none of the lag of stock. I went to setup the remote and see. now I only have the option to choose TV blue ray or DVD player but no cable box choice. Anyone else notice this? Anyway to change that?
Also I don't recall but is there no Mic speech to text option on the stock keyboard? I really like it otherwise.

there seems to be two versions of the q remote , depending on the region the stock rom was meant for. in mycase i have the one that comes with tv,dvd, bluray player... no cable box . i suppose you best bet is to download a rom that has the other version of qremote , extract it then inject it in your tablet , unless u can find that version of the apk floating around.
concerning the stock keyboard , the text to speech is right there ,to the left of the spacebar

I was thinking maybe the build.prop file if UK vs US would cause Qremote to show a different set of devices etc. Guess not. I have the original nandroid backup of the device can I just extract the qremote app and odex file and copy it over?
As for the keyboard, in this ROM left of space bar I have the forward slash or the settings gear. No option for voice typing even though it is enabled in setings

titanium backup should handle this . although i wonder if a conflict could occur, so make a backup of the quick remote you already have, just in case.
for the keyboard ,if i keep pressing on the gears menu button,it switches to speech 2text. if it is no there , i wonder if it is the same lg keyboard app that is used in you current rom
Titanium backup won't help as I don't have it for my original stock rom. I have a nandroid backup which I tried extracting the appropriate files but they did not work.
As for the keyboard. I know where the microphone should be but long pressing does not provide the option. I came from Mahdi Rom but did a full wipe prior.....

Weird. After the battery drained to zero I charged the tablet to full from power off. Now keyboard has the Mic option on it.
So if anyone has a flashable remote app for north America I would be great ful

It doesn't appear when you use the built in Samsung keyboard. If you install the stock Google Keyboard it shows up.
