Hello
I'm getting my Tab S 10.5 LTE tomorrow.
Is there any way to root this without tripping knox?
I'm not going custom room, but want to have Viper4android and Xposed framework.
No.

SM-T705, CF-Autoroot already. I was asked the above question. As I have rooted already I cant tell.
1 So if one installs TWRP recovery with Odin (not TWRP Manager apk) and just wants to backup his Tab, I would say there is no root necessary for doing this.
2 Will the Installation of TWRP with Odin trip Knox already ?
3 What is necessary for TWRP restore ... I guess root...
yes it will trip knox, anything custom other than an added binary (su.bin) will trip knox. Root isn't needed to backup/restore a ROM outside of Android, just a custom recovery.
If you have rooted with CF-Autoroot you tripped Knox already.

you con downgrade an older stock kernel w/out tripping knox ... but that's about all you can do. That said, I'd love to know if anyone has tried king, or towelroot. I'm too chicken. But towelroot DID work on our 8.4 tab pro (w/out tripping knox).

The thing is, is the tab pro exynos? I dont think towelroot works on exynos or some exynos devices
can't recall - but I thought it was the other way around - that towelroot (& kingo) won't work on snapdragon 's. I'll have to check to see what we got.

I have successfully rooted my Note 3 without tripping knox thanks to Effortless method. Is there a way to install TWRP without affecting knox?

I've been reading up a lot on that same question. Unfortunately, we cannot. We can only root with effortless because it is an official samsung note 3 kernel. Custom recovery is just that. Custom.
Knox picks up tampering and shatters the container. If you are using Knox even, and trip counter, it shatters everything inside it too.
T hanks for the help
Hi,
I just bought Galaxy Tab S10.5, T805 LTE model. It comes with stock rom ver. 4.4.2 - T805XXU1ANF6
I wonder if I can root it without tripping knox?
Thank you,
Nope you cant. You can root it but, it will trip knox. Theres no other root method that will root this tablet either. The only way iw to cfautoroot and trip knox.
Hello, friends.
I just bought a T700 Tab S 8.4 WiFi and I came here to search for rooting procedures.
I found two or three topics but they don't make clear for what they are appropriate.
I would like to root the 5.0.2 version in this device. It would be great if I could do it without tripping the knox and using the stock rom - no custom.
Otherwise I would downgrade my device just to have root without tripping the knox. The only option I've found, it was for the 10.2 tablet version.

Install TWRP and then flash SuperSU. Yes, Knox will be voided, but enjoy all the wonderful aosp roms!

If it's the only option, I won't proceed. As I said, I don't want to trig the knox neither install a custom recovery. Thanks for replying.

Possible root method: MAGISK (or an alternative?)
Phone model: S20+ 5G SM-G9860 (HK variant)
If knox doesn't trip, what about SafetyNet?
If I send phone back under warrenty with tripped SafetyNet, will they accept it?
Thanks in advance
Hey
every change in the signature of boot ROM will trip KNOX. Installing Magisk (by using a changed boot image) as such WILL TRIP KNOX. WIth Magisk Manager you can however still use stuff like Google Pay (NOT Samsung Pay though).
Is there any way to undo KNOX tripping at this time????
