The weather app temperature (Accuweather) is always off by a couple of degrees compared to the local weather service and the real temperature.
Are there any possibilities to replace the stock weather app to another weather service so the weather/temp is shown correctly using Dot View on a rooted device?

See attached photo. Outside is 31 degrees Celsius, but the weather widget shows snowing.

on another note, when you click the temps to get the menu and enter weather settings are you using GPS Location??
Any idea how to fix it? Ive tried removing and replacing the widget. Not sure what else i can do.
Which weather widget are you referring to? I tried the accuweather (i think that's what comes with the phone), but wasn't what I wanted.
Anyways, you may also want to consider other weather widgets on market. I found 3D Digital weather clock and also Android Weather on market and found I like the Android Weather better - it offers transparency, shows location, date/day, time and current temp and weather condition.

Yup, I do mean the stock one. I tried uploading a picture of it thru the xda app, but it keeps hanging. Thanks for the tip, I'll try Android Weather.
Update: the ota update for 2.3.6 fixed the issue.
I have the google news and weather widget displaying the weather on my home screen. It's a great widget and all but for some reason at night it still shows a sun. Is there no night weather icons built into the widget? why is it always showing a sun even at night?
Night icons are actually built in to the apk but I hasn't ever displayed them. Going all the way back to eclair when it was released.

earlier with HTC handsets I used to get proper weather updates, like when the handset shows rain from the window i could also see rain. it was HTC's in built widget.

Try Chronus. I've been using it for years now, it's definitely my favourite. There are a few paid features but the free widgets are great. You can select from various weather providers to chose the one that's most accurate for your location. Accu Weather is best for me. Try the Chronus Flex widget. it's one of the included free widgets and works perfectly.

found NOAA and Weather Live to offer the most accurate forecast (in terms of temperature) so far.
The best for me is HD Widgets. Its beautiful, you can customize and and widgets in a way thay you want. And accuweather provides correct weather
