I saw some screenshots where a group of icons were stacked on top of each other. Is that a feature of the launcher or a mod? (If it's the launcher, which ones support it?)
The icons behind were visible and got progressively smaller
You are probably seeing a folder configuration from a 3rd party launcher, like Apex or Nova.

It's possible with nova prime launcher. It has an option to overlap widgets which also works for icons

I like adw ex cuz u can change icon size and remove labels, change label color in app drawer, etc. It seems to have bugs on the tablet tho. When swiping from page to page, widgets get "stretched" then they get stuck that way. Almost like the "morphing" the widgets do during page transitions get stuck. Anyone else seeing this and know of a fix? Or perhaps another launcher that has the aforementioned features? I'm using nova right now (prime).

adw is no longer supported... try apex launcher.should have what you're looking for

I have nova Prime, have used Nova for years of phones. The one issue I have with it is no shadow feature on the stock icon them.. You simply can't have a colorful or brighter style wallpaper if you don't have shadows !
Does anyone else use nova launcher and agree/disagree and if not nova, what do you use instead of nova for shadow enabled icons ?
I use Nova..
And honestly I stopped using it as the oneplus home is sufficient for me.
I also have Nova Prime. I mostly use it because I paid for it but I do prefer the look of Nova compared to the OOS Launcher and I like being able to remove the google search bar from the desktop. Also the App Drawer is not to my liking in OOS. I have never worried about shadows for Icons but maybe you could message the Nova Developer and make a request for that feature. Peace
I use Nova Prime for one simple reason. I like the OP3 launcher fine myself, and actually like the shelf widget.. however, if you remove the google search bar, the space can't be used and causes the widgets to sit lower on the screen. No bueno.
Installed Nova and setup and after a couple of performance adjustments, am finding its every bit as speed as OP3 launcher with widgets able to be adjusted as I'd like.
I use Nova Prime but the main reason is the ability to change grid the way i want it and have lots of costumisation. I use Cobalt icons and look great. Have used LG G3, Zenfone 2 and now OP3, and even tried the stock launcher but Nova win all the time... For me is the best launcher in market (there are lots of other lauchers that are also great)
I use nova and use custom icon sets so I don't run into this issue
Here's the ubiquitous homescreen thread. Please your launcher, icon packs widgets etc.

Same question as the previous guy, how did you get the weather across from your pixel style search bar? I don't see this as an option on Nova.

Go to Nova settings/advanced. Hold volume down and the Labs menu will be enabled. You can enable the weather in the search bar from there
Thanks for the help. Here is my home screen--a lot busier than all yours, so it doesn't look as nice, but I like all my apps right in front of me

Super clean! I like it. How did you get the weather widget with that icon and no location or weather text and how did you get the date in your dock?
Nova Launcher Prime, 1Weather Widget. I wish you could hide the navigation keys like all other Android phones I've had recently, but this will do. Seems Tapatalk reduced quality, but you get the idea.

Nice and simple. Pixel launcher.
Nova Launcher
The1Lucent icon pack
Glass widgets
Nothing special.
Nova launcher
Zooper wodget
Nova launcher used. Second day of owning the phone and still getting used to Android
Just had another play after looking on this thread, looks good
Nova launcher
GUX icons
Custom zooper widget using one of the GUX icons as a background.
Nova launcher, Darkglow icons
Nova Prime with Funkong Icons. 1 weather widget
I do say that the best launcher with customization is Ofcourse Nova launcher.
Nova launcher beta version is now Google companion supported. It will soon roll out for Stable Nova version.
Nova vs System Launcher
[Nova launcher]✓
1-App drawer
2-Change Grid
3-change dimensions
4-Widget resizing overlapping.
5-Custom folder options
6-Backup and restore Configs
7-App drawer Configs
8-Desktop Configs
[System Launcher]✓
1- Lite weight Ram friendly
2-Clean UI
3-Minimal options
4-Supported with Themes
5-beautiful Setup
Some screenshots here with some themes.
Actually System Launcher takes more RAM than nova, both are good in their own features.
MIUI launcher also has live icons for Clock, Calendar and Weather app. Almost all the launchers have live Calendar option now but if I remember correctly, MIUI v6, v7 or maybe both also had seconds display along with hour and minute hands on the clock app icon. That looks pretty if you ask me
I've used Nova launcher before. It's nice. Lots of customization. However. I am using the default MIUI launcher now and I honestly don't miss Nova.
System Launcher
I am more stock admirer so nova hands down... I actually have only one page in nova and launching most apps with appdialer. I use launcher page mainly for some informational widgets and shortcuts
Nova all the way, light and well performing
Nova its customizable, you can turn off / Block screen with Double Tap. Also support 3rd party beauty icons. The bad Thing is some widgets like clock do not work properly.
MIUI stock its very good and support a lot of beautiful themes. Pretty widget and Wallpapers but you can put apps icons by alphabetic order.
smart launcher is way better than both of them, i really dont understand why it isnt more popular
No way default launcher of mi can beat nova...ecen stock Android launcher is better than mi home launcher...After buying a mi phone the first thing I did was to install Nova launcher.
And for the second choise use Buzz launcher
System launcher

I use this Lock widget in MIUI launcher on every screen, quite handy if you ask me.

I liked Nova Launcher but i like simplicity of Evie Launcher. It has double tap lock and supports different icon packs available on playstore. Give it a try. One more thing is its Free and Ad Free. Enjoy.
I like Nova launcher for the fact you can edit truncated app names, and scroll the dock plus other things. The ONE thing MIUI launcher has in its favor is the Quick Function Widget has a toggle that will turn Mobile data on and off directly without going thru the settings. Thats a big plus for me, but you cant edit app names, or scroll the dock Its a real shame that you cant directly toggle mobile data on and off with nova or power toggle, like you can do with Native MIUI launcher
Hi,
I have a big issue with the fact that I can't change the app icons to the ones i want. If I try to use apps like Icon changer, i am warned that "Your launcher may not support creating shortcut via Icon changer ", hence I am not allowed to do so. How can i fix this ? I don't want to install icons from certain icon packs, I want to change them with specific pngs.
Thank you in advance,
Liviu
Use a 3rd party launcher, like Nova. Or wait for the developer to update Icon Changer. The phone has only been available for a few days, and I suspect a number of apps will need to be updated to support it.
I am surprised about the small icon size when you put a few icons in a folder. I change the resolution to HD+ but that makes them no much bigger.
Pixel 2 launcher show's much bigger icons using folders but I like somehow the stock launcher.
Any ideas how to make the icons in folder look bigger?

At first I was not that happy with Nova but.....
I found a backup for the S9 and did import and hat to tweak it a bit.
Here a screenshot of the touchwiz and one of the Nova launcher.
Touchwiz is the first thing I dump on a tablet or phone and I've used Nova since it first came out. Lately though I've been using Microsoft Launcher (formally Arrow) and like a lot if it's features.
