Hello,
First of all sry for my noobness. I have a "gaming" issue with my Acro S running 4.4.x roms. I've struggled with this since first releases of Carbon rom and now I discovered that I have the same issue on Beanstalk and CM11 as well. Any KitKat rom I install works perfectly, except games like plants vs zombies, asphalt and some other. Strangely other games like Temple Run and Fruit Ninja work perfectly.
I can also add that I have no issue running any game on stock or custom ICS/JB roms.
When installing any rom I usually fastboot the boot.img first, then wipe everything (except ext card), then install the rom.
Any ideea on the subject?
Thanks!

Dear friends,
I have Optimus SU640 mobile(stock jellybean). I thought of flashing custom ROM and rooted my phone.
I installed CM 10.1.2 JB 4.2.2 on my mobile and basic features are working without any problem.
But while running temple run, subway surfers and many of the games are running very slowly and graphics are not at all good.
Does we have to flash/copy any graphics related zip files when custom ROMs are flashed?
if anybody have faced same problem and have solution, please help me.
Thank & Regards,
Murali.

Try the adreno (gpu) drivers from this thread. Tell us how it compares:

Thanks Flyview, I tried it but observed same games sluggish performance , but fixed some app force closes.
Guys I had tried many roms for the Arc S, but always get slow, gingerbread, ICS, Jelly bean, every rom get slow/lags after a while...
Tried:
Xperia Ultimate HD
Super Jelly Bean
Arconium (with doomkernel)
And many more...
Please I need your advise, but be honest, help me to find a good rom that doesnt get slow after 2 weeks, without reflashing/updating or cleaning data etc...
What about miui?
Sorry to rain on your parade, but all ROMs will inevitably get slow over time because of the cache and the apps used.
As a user yourself you should know the basics of maintaining the software. Use apps like Greenify, uninstall apps that you don't need or play to increase free space.etc
I have been using my current ROM for the past 4 months and it is still running smoothly like I just installed it.

So far I have tried:
before unlocking my bl:
- Xperia Ultimate HD
after unlocking
- Slim Bean 4.0 - unlocked bl + Fusion Kernel
- Slim Bean 4.0 besttt based + LX based aAa Kernel
First I can say that having a custom (and I guess the right) kernel makes a huge difference. Xperia Ultimate HD for instance was a really awesome rom way better than stock Sony ICS but now and then I still experianced lags when on stock kernel. Second the Scheduler, Governor settings do have quite some Impact aswell. And for the Arc due to the low stock memory I have found out that running with 18% Zram does a big difference.
Lastly I want to point out that I only got the most important apps (and facebook) installed and I also do a CWM backup as soon as I have debloated and adjusted a ROM to my needs. After that I can play around maybe try new stuff and if I dont like it I just restore.
Oh and I almost forgot, I usually do a full SD-Card format when installing a fresh new ROM.
It's all depends on your downloaded apps
Try racing bean.
maybe you can try mike's legacy xperia (cm11)

It is not a matter of ROM, all ROMs will eventually lag because of the cache file getting full and the apps the user installs over time. To keep your ROM running at peak performance, you have to uninstall apps you don't need, use Greenify to kill background apps to free up RAM and reboot your phone every few days as this will reset the cache file.

Hi guys. This is my first thread at this forum. I was searching a ROM for my old Xperia Play but I have some doubts. Sorry but I can`t post in the develop section due I don´t have more posts
Here is my question:
-If you install a custom ROM you will lose game controller function? (I will play xperia play optimized games of APPstore that can be played with the controller).
Another option is keep the stock ROM and install DooMKernel but I know that official ROM sucks nowadays.
I will use it with emulators (maybe I will need to overclock it for N64 and PSX) and to play android xperia play-optimized games... So what is your recommendation?

I believe the controller works in all roms except kitkat roms and above camera also does not work in kitkat. Lollipop camera works but controller does not.
Go for a jellybean rom there are quite a few of them. Also if you go jelly bean most of the apps like minecraft PE should have to controls fixed. So try a few jellybean roms out and see what you like. Also like you say get a custom kernel. I think jellybean and higher FW changes your partitions a bit so once you have on its better to just stay on one of those roms. Happy hunting

Hi
I flashed the Android revolution HD 53.1 rom to my m8 the other day and I really like it but I have noticed it is often lags a lot more than stock marshmallow did. For example live wallpaper I used on the stock rom (and was very smooth) now stutters and scrolling in apps is really not smooth. Should I try re flashing or could I have done something wrong ? I have heard very good things about this rom and that its meant to run a lot smother than the stock marshmallow?
Thanks in advance.
