I'm sure it is annoying having old threads be brought back to life, but not sure where to place a new thread for this. I am using the latest update for my e980 (e98020h) have successfully achieved root access, that was the way part. But when i try to boot into recovery i get a system error stating "boot certification verify". Is there a way around this? I have never had this issue before.

Issues Rooting with Superoneclick

Hi, I have tried rooting about 20 times (not even kidding), and almost every time it gets stuck on step #7. I have installed drivers from LG and have phone in debugging mode. (I tried doomlord, but it won't recognize my Nitro) Does anyone have any advice to help me root my Nitro?
*Mods, feel free to move this to the rooting section, it just wouldn't let me post in there*
Try rooting it the way they root the optimus. That's what I did and it worked fine.

Did you use the latest SuperOneClick 2.3.3 for rooting your device? I can confirm it works with LG LU6200...

If this isn't working for you, this should:

(its working in ADB mode, make sure your device is in USB debugging mode and connected to your PC)
Good luck!

Use SuperOneClick v.2.3.2 and not 2.3.3. The latest version don't want to root our Nitro. I can't understand why, but 2.3.2 version root very well.

Remove the SD card( or unmount it), i got the same problem here and it thats what worked
What worked for me was installing the Android SDK package.
I was hanging at step #7 as well and after installing the package it went through.

Click on a link in my signature and download from my guide. I have an issue to upload the file right here.
problems rooting too!
So this being my first post and all please dont freak. I searched as best I could to find the proper thread to ask this and this seemed like the best option. So here it goes.
I myself tried rooting my phone with Superoneclick and after numerous attempts I failed miserably. So I tried Doomlord's rooting method. I thought I had figured it out because at the end it said "OK!" and it even rebooted my phone but when I tried to DL Titanium backup and busybox it said it could not gain root access. My question is, first would it be safe to attempt the root process again, or if not any ideas on what I might have done wrong and maybe a solution to fix it?
Thanks again
P.S dear Mod if this was the inappropriate place to post this I apologize in advance.
i would download the superuser app and see if tibu finds root
also, there should be no prob running the rooting app again if you choose to, if you are rooted already it should return a *already rooted* message.
So I tried dl superuser and that did nothing. I even did a master reset maybe thinking that I might of changed a setting I want suppose to, and even that didn't work. Like I said I can't get SOC past step 7 and I've tried all the tips I read on here to get past that problem but nothing. Doomlords looks like it worked and it reboots my phone but still nothing. I would really truly appreciate any help!
thanks again

I cant get my screen shot to upload. I've tried everything. Anyhow, I still can't get my phone rooted. When I rooted my Aria, I used a program on my MAC that rooted it in about 20 seconds. Whatever happened to that?

Apples and oranges. The two programs used to install custom recovery on the Aria utilize exploits in the HBOOT, which is something only HTC devices have.
What software version do you have on your device? (Look in Settings > About Phone > Software version)
I'm having the same situation. Everything I've read says that if you did the security update without root already then you can't root now. I would love for some one to prove me wrong and show me a way. IM running 2.3.5 v10j with kernel 2.6.35.11.

You have the recent update installed which makes it impossible to root the device. There are still methods to get the device rooted but it is not simple and basically involves this process: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597488
I would urge you to make sure you know what you're doing before attempting this though.
I had the above problem with not being able to root my phone due to the software version i had. I had to use the "unbricking guide" and after some challenges i was able to restore the phone to stock with root. It is risky, but at this moment im not sure theres any other way to do it, unless someone with programming skills can find an alternate method to go back to a previous version of the software without resetting or unbricking the entire phone.

Cyanogen Mod 10.1.3.1 thats because I used ROM Mgr for all my roms like most of us do I believe, and use Xda for all of my stock Jb ROM downloads along with oden. I flashed through Clockwork Recovery and this is the first time I flashed a ROM and lost root after aperantly other people are having some of the same probs.
I would recommend you don't use that ROM especially if other people are having issues. I would recommend the cyanogenmod ROMS and the hyperdrive Touchwiz ROMS.

This might help but I'm not so sure but this might help: Go to Settings>Developer Options and Above the sub-menu "Debugging" there's Root Access, by default it should be Apps Only but hopefully this could help a little...

Hey!!!, So I had the same problem; I've searched and searched for almost 2 months for an answer... and nothing. To be honest I was actually just going to give up and accept CM10.1.3.1 as my phone's tomb. Although, I finally fixed it in the oddest way—essentially fiddling around with the phone before bed.... serious ciber-ich—So forget anything anyone has even talked about, up to this point, because it isn't a problem with your phone; in fact you are still rooted, you've just lost access to your root due to a root-permission war between your phone and superuser/supersu (what eva).
So if anyone is interested in fixing this, here, this is what I did to fix it.
This was my first failed attempt
1) Reinstall Root (Fail!!!!)
2) Use new super User (Fail!!!!!!)
3) Reinstall CM (Fail!!!!!!!!)
4) Wait for an answer on google (fail!!)
5) Wait for an answer on here ( double fail!!!!)
Here's the Fix
1) Reinstall Root with SuperSU ( Probably didn't need to do this; however, due to all the superuser-instalation-overkill, it's probably best.)
2) Uninstall all other superuser apps you may have on your phone—also do not use CWM Superuser (It doesn't have what it takes)
3) Go to App Management, uninstall SuperSU's last update
4) Clear SuperSU's catch (self explanatory)
5) Go into AppDrawer, Open SuperSU app and make sure
- Enabled -- Yes
- Survival mode -- No
- Logging -- Access only
- Trust System User -- Yes
- *************** Respect CM root settings********** no!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not respect that ****!!!!!!!!
6) Enjoy your root access again :victory:
If anyone has any questions, just message me. I hope this was of help to anyone going through the same pain I had gone through.
For some more info on my phone.
- I'm running a I747m GSIII CM10.1.3.1d2att
- as for the root... well I can't give the link because i'm new to this site...

Next time check this thread first. This has been discussed in the last couple of pages and probably more. If the file isn't signed by Samsung it will not flash. It shouldn't brick it, it will just fail to flash. Been there and done that... I probably tried all the root methods available for kitkat 4.4.4 and none work for the retail version.

Root for Lollipop is MUCH more difficult, basically you need to find a way to get a custom kernel (and thus unlocked bootloader) just to get root in L. I wouldn't get my hopes up, at this point as a Verizon Note 4 owner I've given up all hope and just enjoy my phone, its still awesome.
People just repeat nonsense non stop, saying rooting lollipop is much more difficult without a LP image for the device is nothing but nonsensical. All rooting any device/os is the ability to find an exploit on the device. It has much less to do with what android. THE ONLY THING IT HAS TO DO WITH: Is finding an exploit in a stock system to hijack system permissions so u can then make changes to give you admin (ROOT) permission all the time. With an unlocked BL your are able to load your own software pre OS so you are not dependant on finding an exploit in order to get root in OS your options are much greater. And that's it, anything else is pure speculation, so us not having LP on our device you can not claim it will be easier or harder, an exploit is an exploit that's in. So keep the absurd comments coming. Don't bother replying to me because no reason for me to come back here to find more nonsense.

[Q] i cannot ROOT my g3

im going to make this short and sweet. Ive tried every method on the internet that i can find to root this phone. Methods include; stumproot, towelroot, framaroot, and root methods using the pc and running other programs. My software version is D58110r idk if that is what is stopping it from working or not. Ive also tried to use the lg mobile support upgrade tool just to upgrade to lollipop. im coming from a nexus 5 so this is my first time rooting a non nexus device in years(other one was the lg optimus v on virgin mobile). PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME...
Google is your friend. That software version fixed the exploit. You need to downgrade, root and then upgrade using one of a couple different methods out there.
You do not need to downgrade just use this One Click root and honestly its impossible to screw up your phone with this method. This will root your phone regardless of what firmware you are on. Link Provided below:

I can confirm that this method works flawlessly on 10r. I also strongly advise staying on stock root, using SkyDragon !.61 kernel with recommended settings in OP if you want things like your camera and LTE to work without big hassles. I also used Titanium to freeze what little bloat/unused apps, and I can report 0 FC's, and at least 24 hour battery. Ihave gotten as much as 64 hours. Good luck! :good:

Why is the sm-n910p with 5.1.1 seem to be root proof?

I am relatively new to rooting and bought a used sprint note 4 with 5.1.1 cog5 update already installed, and have been waiting around for one of the universal root programs like oneclickroot to drop a root for it, but it never happens. I heard the new security in 5.1.1 is making it impossible? Is there any work arounds? I have seen a couple homebrews show up that seem questionable and limited. Anyone who is knowledgeable is welcome, but please no "newb just read" comments. Those are rarely helpful.
Funny, after owning this phone for about a year I decided to root yesterday being 100% stock and on OG5. First flash TWRP using ODIN, then install beastmode via TWRP to begin. TWRP will ask after to install superSU, install it. So far I'm using xposed and wish I had done this sooner! Sorry for the lack of details but I'm on mobile right now.
