:crying::crying:
my device is just 10-day old and after a week of using it.. the notification shown on the picture keeps on showing then it will shut down even though the device is not hot nor warm..
I dont know what are the causes of this.. I just remember that it is all okay the last time I used it and when i woke up to check the time, it isalready off. when i switch it on, it shuts down after a few minute.
I tried to reset it to factory seetings, i've even tried to install app-killers.. but it doesnt have any effect...
any idea about this? thank you so much!
You could use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mtorres.phonetester&hl=de to check the temperature of the battery, maybe the readings are completely off (maybe there's a way to do this without an app, I just like it).
/e: maybe *#*#4636#*#* works as well
help
my battery's temperature is okay... it shuts down even if the device is not hot
I tried to reformat it or repair via PC companion.. the issue still comes back after a couple of days:crying:
Contact Sony, that's probably a warranty issue then.

Hey,
I'm exactly experiencing the same problem...even worse! I bough my phone 1 month ago, everything was fine, till two days ago...I cannot keep the phone on for more than 1-3 minutes! it's switched off due to getting hot! i installed that buttery tester, it shows how fast (in seconds) the phone is getting hot! what should we do? is it a hardware problem? or caused by KitKat 4.4.4.?
Have you tried the hard reset button on phone?
It has cured the weirdest problems i've had.
having the same problem here.. i cant even start my phone.. please someone help..
please help us please..thanks
Overheating
I'm faced with the same problem. Replacing the battery on used one didn't solve it. I tried to freeze my phone in fridge, eventually I succeed and it turns on, I install program to check battery temperature and found an interesting moment. Temperature began rising from 10 till 25 evenly in 2 or 3 minutes and then it began immediately jumping ~25 to ~65 and back. After few minutes when it reached 70+ phone turns off. Maybe this information will be useful. Have any ideas?

I was always unsatisfied with my battery life, but now it's gone too far!
1. No matter how long I charge it, at the very second I unplug it it goes down to 99%.
2. It doesn't even go down correctly, one moment it's 65% and the other it's 58%. Always.
3. It drains soooooo fast even though I do nothing with it!!!!
Here are some pictures
1. This is 17 minutes after unplugging it, all I did was to put music on [earphones] and check if my girlfriend was online on Whatsapp.

2. That's after a minute and a half, 2% less, doing nothing but listening to music with my screen off!
3. One minute later..
4. Sixteen minutes later, phone is idle and untouched [not even music, I started my shift]
5. Again, idle.
It lasts 3 hours tops!!!! What the hell do I do.

This app already told you the culprit! Your getting wakelocks so an app you installed is keeping the device awake all the time. The rest is for you to figure out partner . Use the search function on XDA and you will find all the info you need.

Ok might be but to the level where the phone doesn't last 3 hours? That's not cool. It should be lasting more even with heavy using.

yeah you're right, it should last more anyway! maybe it's the rom.. what rom are you using? or maybe the battery failed. it happened to me with another phone, basically i was in the seaside with about 38°C the phone was boiling hot, the battery was fully charged but in about 20 mins it was at 5% without even using it then it died. since then that battery never worked again and i had to buy a new one. do you remember if you had a similar situation or if your phone overheated for any other reason (maybe while charging or near a heat source)?

It got heated a few times but not too hot, and besides, I read that it happens to everyone..
Hi Guys,
Got a problem here. This will be my 2nd Note2 after sending it back to Samsung couple of months ago. It was charging this morning and tonight after a long day of work, I decided to play some game on it. Noticed that the battery is on 15% I decided to charge it. After 30mins I checked the status of the battery and to my amaze it was not charging! I tried 3 different cables, 2 different chargers, and none of them works. Tried my cables and chargers to a different phones and it does work. I connected my note 2 to my laptop, and it does not recognized it. Tried to charge it while it is turned off, I can see a battery icon, but it does not show the charging battery icon. It will disappear in a few seconds. Please see image below:

It's a rooted phone. Tried to clean the charging port. I even opened it without damaging the warranty sticker, and I can definitely say that there's no moist inside. But just to be sure, I blow it using a hair dryer with the temp off. But with no luck. I used to experienced this a few weeks ago where went back charging after a few minutes. But this time it's worst, it's been an hour and a half and still it is not charging. I can't do a full wipe yet since the battery got 9% left on it.
I know that if it will really not charge, to resolve it..it's either I send it back again to Samsung, replace the board myself (hope it works), or buy an external battery charger. Unless there's more that I can do to fix it.

I did but to my amazed after leaving it alone the whole night, It went back charging again. Yes I am glad that it's working again but I am worried it might happen again sooner or later. I have read some threads with the same issue and with the same outcome, I really want to know what's behind this.
So if its under warranty unroot and monitor

Phone can not be charging when off
Hello all,
The problem is i can not charged my phone when the phone is switched off. When i inserted the power cable it will automatically switch on the phone then it will charging normally. I am on Phoenix ROM V18.8. Your kind feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.
Im not really sure why, but my phone has been acting very strange for the past week. If I restart my phone it displays a different battery percentage than it was before. For example, I charged my phone up to 100%. Then when I restarted the phone, it was at 81%. I'm not really sure how to go about fixing this. I cant re-calibrate my battery because it will randomly restart and then have 5% battery left, then continue in a cycle of turning on and then restarting. Is my battery itself the issue? Or should I try completely resetting my phone by going back to the factory kmz file? I tried switching roms and I still had the same issue.
Heres an example of the ridiculous jumps in battery life after a re-boot.

Before you buy a new battery I would recommend using the tot over the kdz. If it still has problems pick a day you don't absolutely need your phone and let it boot loop until it completely drains the battery then fully charge it before you turn it on. Fully draining the battery is bad for it but if you might need to get a new one anyway its not a issue.

I am in the same boat. I pretty much have disabled everything I can think of and have started carrying around a battery pack because of this. I pretty much have to charge my phone 2-3 times a day. I use my phone primarily for texting and listening to audiobooks. every once in a while I will watch some youtube but not that much.
That's why I had to give mine up for the Nexus 6p the battery life was getting ridiculous even with the fast charging barely helped the situation.
Weird. My battery lasts most of the day with moderate to heavy use. I disabled almost everything that I could in application manager.

that is more worrisome, phone is getting heated and sometime fast charging does not work, should I do factory reset and give another try. Just do not want to rely on factory reset every time I have issue.

For me the fast charging worked for about a week, and then the default samsung cable stopped charging quickly. Once I changed the cable the actual charger worked no problem but still it is annoying how fast this battery drains.

same here! I really regret buying this phone, seems impossible to get root on it, no custom rom, and the battery drains crazy! when I walk my dog & just put the phone in my pocket it's getting so damn hot without even use it!!
First off, I know a bit about electronics (far from an expert) but I still know how to do basic troubleshooting with a multimeter etc.
But since every part in a phone is so smal + I don't own a microscope I need some help)
With that said, The issue I'm having is bootloop, I start the phone, get to the LG Life's Good for about 5 seconds, screen goes black, LG logo again over and over again. I also read that this is a known issue with the G4. So I read a few threads and some said to try using a heatgun on the CPU/the chips. So I took my unregulated heatgun which blows at around 380 degress celsius (it is the only heatgun I have). So very carefully I blew air on the chips for about 3 seconds from far away, I then carefully pressed on the chip to make sure that all the solder joints made contacts with the SMD chips. I started the phone and guess what.. it started up!
So first thing I did was to unlock the bootloader, Installed TWRP + Linage ROM. so far so good, then suddenly after looking around in the settings the screen froze, same thing happend again = bootloop. So I took apart the phone again, blew some air, and it started again (i had to blow multiple times so that the chip got pretty hot). then the phone started again.
My first thought was that the CPU (or something else) get's too hot so that some solder joint jumps off, that's why the hot air works. But when I turned it on the second time, I kept the CPU/Battery under 28 Degrees Celsius, just looking at some pictures. After abount 5 - 10 minutes. Same thing.
I'm getting tired on blowing air on it and I really want to use this phone.
I looked at some videos about installing some heatsinks on it (which I can do). But I'm unsure that the CPU is the issue since I still got the bootloop/freeze when the CPU was cold..
And btw, I can't get into TWRP either when the bootloop is ongoing. The screen just freezes right before I enter recovery.
Got anyone give me some pointers on what I can test? Thanks!!
P.S the reason why the text isn't visible on the chips is because of the heat. i have heated the chips up a LOT of times to get the phone to boot so the text has started to disappear.
