[Q] BetterBatteryStats Widget - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Those of you that use BBS on the G3 have you noticed an issue with the 2x2 widget? See my screenshot... 2hrs unplugged but over 1 day of kernel wakelock. I've posted in the BBS thread but didn't get much help. Also tried uninstall/reinstall but got the same results. Wondering if this is a G3 issue or BBS. Thoughts?

I have similar behaviour and am also confused by this. New to BBS, evidently.

also my g3 has this behavior. you discovered the problem?

Something Keeping Phone Awake Causing Battery Drain

Hey everyone, I have the Verizon variant of the LG G4. I am rooted and running Xposed and some other apps. I have amplify installed as well and BBS. I have the phone mostly debloated as well. I am getting some really weird stats in BBS however which seems like it is causing massive battery drain. See attached pics of screenshots I took within BBS. Also attached is a logcat and BBS export. Does anyone have any idea what is keeping my phone awake for over 10 hours and draining the battery so poorly? Thanks in advance!
Having the same problem with same wake locks and processes implicated. Tried using Amplify with no success.

That looks disgusting.
In Amplify there's also some stats there as well. If you do a reset of stats, let it do it's thing for the day. And head to the wakelock section and look along the right hand column it has some times there as well (I think).

Indeed, pretty disgusting lol. I cannot find a definitive app or wakelock but I am admittedly a bit of a noob here. Wondering if anyone can check the BBS log I attached and see if anything pops out in there.
Anyone have any ideas? This is driving me nuts...
I'm no expert but that log looks no different from what you'll see in BBS.
Go to Amplify > Reset > Chill for a bit > Back to amplify > Wakelocks
And on the right hand side you'll see the time each wakelock takes up. In BBS there was a lot of discrepencies for me. Then in Amplify I noticed that Audiomix was taking up a solid 30 minutes which BBS didn't account for. Strange I know.
I believe there's a dedicated BBS thread which has some good folks who can provide an analysis. Dunno where it is though.. Sorry

qpnp_fg_memaccess wakelock

Hello, with the last update of BetterBatteryStats we can see the kernel wakelocks of the LG G4. And i found something weird, a kernel wakelock (qpnp_fg_memaccess) waking the phone even more time than PowerManagerservice.WakeLocks (Sum of all the partial wakelocks/alarms not from kernel). Doing a quick research, i found something in reddit about Nexus 6P having the same wakelock, and that it's maybe related to battery fuel gauge, but memory access for controlling battery? it have no sense for me. Anyone knows what is it and how to stop it? I'm running Android 5.1, V10C build, rooted. Screenshot attached.
Thanks!
edit: i researched a little more and qpnp_FG= Fuel Gauge, so definetively it's something about the battery controller. Still not a clue on how to stop it.

Having this same exact issue. Attached is a screenshot of mine. Hopefully someone can chime in on this as it seems to be keeping the phone awake for substantial periods of time. Posted a thread about it too.
the only thing that may work but not on mm xposed modules amplify
Amplify is not for kernel low-level wakelocks like these. Sorry for the double posting i didn't your post. Maybe thermalmod or some kernel tweak (with kernel adiutor maybe?) can mitigate this problem.
bumpity bump bump
I'm seeing them on my Nexus 5X, same percentages too. Fuel gauge might suggest battery monitoring too, but the only way to check seems to be freezing the one app that can tell us whether they're still there...
Some devices such as printers on a network can broadcast packets that can wake your phone up a lot. qpnp_fg_memaccess is related to that. If you are on a home network use static IP, but on a corporate network you have no real control but not use it.
Is there any solution to fix this?

Help with identifying wakelocks/battery drain

Hi everyone, for the past couple of weeks I have had more idle drain than usual on my rooted Nexus 5x. The problem has persisted across multiple roms. I recently returned to stock, and waited a day to restore my user apps with Titanium Backup, and in that day, the stock rom did NOT have the problem. Then, when I restored user apps, the problem returned. So it appears that one of MY apps, not the OS, is causing the wakeups. However, in both BetterBatteryStats and Wakelock Detector I cannot find any particular wakelock(s) that seem to be causing this issue.
The only concrete evidence I have is the Android built in battery details screen. In the screenshot of the graph and the awake/screen on bars, you can see constant wakeups starting around 2pm (when I restored user apps). Before that, the phone mostly slept while the screen was off, but after 2pm, it has been waking up constantly. I have also attached Wakelock Detector screenshots (Have not used BBS yet on this ROM). They show awake time that is much higher than the sum of the listed wakelocks. (Note: the 52 minute "Photos" app wakelock was a one time thing today, the problem has persisted without that.) If anyone can figure out what might my issue is, I would hugely appreciate it! Thanks!
Best way might be to restore one app per day to figure out which app it is

I was hoping to avoid that, in case anyone had any ideas. But I have a feeling I'll have to. Thanks!

I believe I suffered the same issue, and I have a solution. Not a fix but solution...

Seeing the same issue ... have disabled the AutoSignInandSync service, waiting for the results and will update if that helped.

Sigh... Battery drain and probably wakelock issues

Hi,
I have an unrooted Note 4 that is updated to the latest marshmallow. Lately I have been having battery drain issues. I have GSam Battery Monitor to see if I could figure out what was going on. The only thing that it is telling me is that my phone is pretty much staying awake all the time. Unfortunately I cannot tell much more than that.
My question - is there any way at all for me to figure out the culprit? I looked online for a while and saw references to using Wakelock Detector on unrooted phones with a couple of ADB commands, but that doesn't seem to be an option with Marshmallow.
So, short of rooting, is there any way for me to figure out my battery issues and what's keeping it awake?
Ha! I'll answer my own question. It turns out that you can do this with GSam Battery monitor and a few ADB commands. I updated the app to the latest and went through the settings and it had a little tutorial built in. It took me just a couple of minutes and now I can view wakelocks, both app and kernel, in the app.
If only I could do this with wakelock detector. Still, I'm happy with GSam Battery Monitor.
I'm assuming that I'll have to redo this after every reboot, but that's cool

did you calibrate your battery since your last update? is that when issue began ?im not on stock, but ive had major battery issues in the past. the issue was caused from flash . the solution ended up being charging phone to full then calibrating battery via an app i used root essentials but not applicable in your case

Please help me identify the wakelock/bad battery drain I'm suffering from

Hello,
for the past 2-3 months or so the battery life on my OP3 is just awful. It loses about 4%/hour doing nothing and I just can't find the cause of it.
In short here are the details:
OnePlus 3 with LineageOS 15.1 and latest Firmware
No Gapps (so no wakelock there)!
Minimal amount of apps installed, System is unmodded except for:
I tested stock kernel and Boeffla kernel.
Tried Greenify
The thing is I looked everywhere but even BetterBatteryStats doesn't give me any indication of where the problem is.
The only thing that seems strange the me is
a) The android settings tell me that signal is the problem but that's obviously wrong as none of the other apps show any kind of issue with it and uninstalling Signal doesn't help.
b) GSam shows high usage by "Android System" and "Kernel" however this doesn't help me narrow down the problem.
Can some take a look at the screenshots from BBS and GSam and help me out with this problem?

I had the same issue once and I narrowed it down to battery degradation.
I checked the actual capacity left with an app (accubattery) and it told me that the actual capacity left was around 2000mAh which is 30% degradation.
So I got my battery swapped out, it cost me 1300 rupees, but after that my battery drain was fixed. Maybe you should try the app too:laugh:

Screenshots will not help. Visit the BBS thread, learn how to take an idle dump and post the dump in that thread for help.
My suspicion is regarding your mobile signal. So after taking a BBS dump, take screenshots of the battery details page in the phone's Settings and post them also.
