[Q] 4.4.3 Battery Issues? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm holding off the update of 4.4.3 because I've heard that battery life decreases, can any body share their experiences of battery performance after the update?

I have a TMO M8 complete stock. I did my update last week and also added the GPS update, then cleared cache from system recovery.
I have seen an improvement in battery life.

[Q] Problem with camera flash

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Desire HD running ViperDHD 2.3.0 ROM.
When I take a picture using flash with low battery, the phone shutdown and stuck on boot after restarting.
I've tried wiping battery stat, cache and Dalvik cache and none of this fixed the issue but the only way to get phone running is to flash again the rom.
Is there a way to fix this or is a battery problem?
Thank you all!

Sounds like your battery needs replacing, you might want to replace it and see if the problem still occurs

Thanks, I'll try that when i get a new battery!
I had a similar problem on Viper DVD 2.x. If the battery was under let's say 70% when taking photo with flash, the phone turned off. The only way to turn it back on was connecting the charger. I replaced the battery for the new one, original HTC, but situation is the same .

Charge full battery for your phone. Reboot to recovery and try wipe battery stat. If the problem not fix. Change to another rom. .
I cleared battery stats and caches, charged to full but the situation is the same . I will have to live with that

Oke. Read around DHD forum and i think your answer is change another new battery.
I'm considering the same thing . But it's really weird that new, original battery would be faulty

Issues after updating my M8( Poor battery life,Standby button not functionin properly

So,
2 weeks ago I updated my phone to latest version ( 3.29.118.9 ) 4.4.4
and now I started experiencing some problems lately mainly battery issues.
Battery drains very quickly, yesterday the phone had 32% of battery, I used greenify to stop apps like messenger,whatsapp.., I put my phone in airplane mode and extreme power saving mode and when I woke up 3 hours later 16%, The only thing I had on was the alarm. From 55 it goes straight to 12 when on airplane mode WTF ?
The second issue I face is the power button won't put the phone in standby mode, no matter what I do. Then I have to restart the phone by holding it for 5 seconds or more.
The third problem is the status bar quick settings, it takes maybe 2 or 3 taps to work, This can also be solved by by restarting.
Can anyone give me any solution.
Thanks
Do you have fastboot disabled?
If not do it, If so then maybe you need to put the unit into recovery and wipe the cache partition.
If you updated by official OTA, a lot of random bugs can often be resolved by doing a factory reset (backup any personal data first).
Also, have you tried to see what battery life is like without Greenify? These kinds of apps can sometimes do as much harm as good.

I'm using it, as I noticed they improved battery life like you can used more than 6.30 hours screen on without root also no drain at night just around 2%
and it's smooth...
bugs added in new update
Nothing change in 100 mb update only added some bugs like freezing sometime automatically touch doesnt respond
I've noticed sudden reboots while using the phone after updating to this firmware . Anyone else facing the same ?
Battery life seems to have improved and incoming call notification feature has been removed in Kitkat
I have done a hard reset leaving without root, and keep the same, it run smooth but when I restart, it get frozen in samsung logo..
PD: I just have ended pulling out the battery for 2-3 times till it boot correctly

Did you make factory rest after update?
If not, you must make factory rest to fix restart issue.

If you face the stuck in logo again you must make factory rest..
It seems to me you update to KK without factory rest after update..
Factory rest it's important after update to KK to fix all the bugs and the lags.
Yes I did that, but it didnt Work. it seems to get fixed by doing a full wipe with custom recovery TWRP 2.8.1, the 2.8.0 didnt install and then install the firmware again.
hello, i use the N750XXUCNH1 and i rooted and installed xposed and i have custom recovery (Philz) , if i update to N750XXUCNK2 does occur any issue? it is right to update? my root was work after update?

Battery drain after Oreo update?

Hello I recently updated to the latest firmware and it seems like the battery is draining unusually fast. I did start using moto360 with it as well, around the same time as the update.
I've attached a screenshot, is anyone else having the same issue?
Is there a fix for it?
Did you do a clean install or a dirty flash? It seems most people that have problems did not do clean install.
I did a clean install. My battery life on 5.0.3 has actually been better than 4.7.6.
that's probably it. I'll report back after I clean flash
Clear your cache in recovery maybe?
I feel mine is actually better than 4.7.6 too.
