Hi there. I'm using m8. I have a small problem. There is no sound from the phone. The reason for this is that I delete system files. I could not back up. What do I do? interacting with the stock android phone. I live in turkey.
Which files did you delete? I'll extract them from my system and upload em for you. Then all you need to do is placing them back and setting the right permissions.

If you deleted files, and don't know what you deleted (and didn't back anything up), its very hard for anyone to help you.
You said stock phone, but I assume you are rooted, as altering system files is not possible otherwise. Do you have custom recovery installed (TWRP or CWM)? If so, find the appropriate nandroid from the nandroid collection and rstore it. Or find a stock rooted or stock-ish custom ROM and flash it.

try a data wipe, root will persist. assuming you didn't mess too much stuff up you should be back to stock with su
but agreed, something like this would be useful if you messed it up and didn't backup first

Thanks for creating the thread b00sted, I was also having sync issues. Used ejlax's backup, ran Titanium, and now all is well.

Find RMK40's Stock Froyo Rom in the Android Development folder. Wipe all your data and cache.

i already tried to copy 2 files from an another firmwareversion to system/apps but icon doesnt come back.

Try to use titanium backup. But your phone must be rooted.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
titanium backup can only restore presaved backups but i have no backup of this.

Try updating to v0.8.3
If not, try the forums here: http://www.launcherpro.com/
Been there...done that...no help at all...still the same problem.
Stupid me...i shouldn't update it at all to v0.8.3, should left it as it was

Are you rooted? If yes, you can sort this out by deleting the /dbdata/databases/com.fede.launcher folder and /data/data/com.fede.launcher folder. After that, reinstall the 0.8.3 version.
Just make sure you have another launcher like default samsung or go launcher something in handy to navigate when you delete these files.

You need to have Root explorer or some other similar file manager which can grant you read and write access to the /data and /dbdata folders.
did u restart launcherpro after changing the setting? many settings require restart to take effect.
(just stating the obvious just in case op made a silly mistake).

A stock file manager won't help you. You need to have Root explorer or Astro File manager or Linda file manager or some other which gives you access to Root. These folders are located in the root directory.

This is indeed WTF moment.
Try searching for "launcherpro" and see what you get. Try deleting those files and reinstalling Launcherpro from market.
nothing found. goddamn!!!
since i am on darky's v9.0.0 can i flash it again with the same rom?

You can. Flash a non-wipe ROM. If that doesnt help, backup your data and flash over a wipe ROM.

If your not rooted you cant. If you are rooted use a file manager to go to /system/app and delete, or move the apk's of the apps you dont want. Be carefull dont delete the wrong thing or you may bootloop your phone. Alternativley you could use titamnum backup or other apps on the market to freeze the system apps you dont want.
If you don't want to get too technical with moving apk's there is always titanium backup paid version which lets you freeze apps. After moving the apks on my incredible and then moving them back for OTA updates I wanted something easier for the bionic I got. Titanium lets me freeze them so they don't run, or show up in the app list. The free version doesn't do it but i think the 5$ or whatever was worth it for me.

to add to this. if you rename the file from .apk to .bak and re boot, and if the phone doesnt FC like craze you can go back and delete the .bak files. i did this in the beginning to make sure i wasn't deleting something that would harm my phone.
here is also a list that is ok to delete.

Yeah a whole bunch. There is tons of stuff i consider junk or uneeded. Some just junk and some unneeded because i replaced them with apps from the market.

Can someone post their stock SystemUI.apk and .odex files? I accidentally flashed a theme and forgot I was still odex'ed. (facepalm)
I'd rather not Odin back right now, I've already rooted & frozen a lot of apps.

Just rename all the .odex files (file manager while in recovery) with a .odex.bak and it should work fine.

Awesome just tried it out and it worked! I feel like such a noob [emoji1]
Also if anyone else reads this, make sure to mount the system partition in TWRP so you can see the files under /system/priv-app
