Hi everyone,
I am looking for beta testers for SlidePick, an App that optimize and simplify the organization, selection and elimination process of all your photos saved on your Smartphone, social networks and cloud services through a simple gesture process (swipes)
The beta will be available via personal invitation from tomorrow, so please sign up here! http://slidepick-beta.strikingly.com/
You can join the Google+ Beta testers community where all the updates will be made. https://plus.google.com/b/114988019670329798335/communities/105593037994435394140
What's now available:
Organize or eliminate all your photos saved on your Android Smartphone (Whatsapp, Screenshots, Camera Roll, etc)
Start taking pictures and pre-organize them on an album that you created from the app.
Share a whole new album on facebook from the same app.
What's next: We are Currently working on the integration with the Dropbox and Facebook API.
Any suggestions? Thanks

So I wanted to share my photos in Gallery on Picasa, but the catch is that I want to share them in a album which is shared with me along with upload rights.
Well I could not see any list of existing albums in the drop down.
Secondly I have another google account configured in the device, but even that account is not visible in the account dropdown while trying to share the photo with picasa.
Hop you understood my issue.
Any helpers?
I have my gallery setup to sync stuff with Google Photos. See the screenshot. But it does not appear to sync anything, when I login to my Google account and check Photos, I end up at a Google+ page which has a section 'Photos from my phone', but this has to do with the instant upload feature of Google+ (which I don't use).
Am I overlooking something here? Is Gallery syncing successfully for anyone?
Same here, the gallery doesn't sync photos taken by the camera :/
Ok. Reported an issue at code.google.com.
Noticed the same thing. Only with me the photo albums on Google+ are showing on my phone while I have every option to show this disabled
Ok according to a reply on my issue there the Gallery sync option only syncs Picasa web albums to your phone. For uploading photos to Google, the 'instant upload' setting of Google+ should be used. This puts uploaded photos in a non-public Picasa web album.
Sounds fair enough, but uploaded photo's are resized and compressed. Not exactly a proper backup in my opinion.
You need to enable auto-sync to see the check boxes.

Ok,
First off Picasa is Google+ Photos. If you have anything in Picasa Web Albums it will be in your Google+ Photos under albums. Google+ Photos will eventually replace Picasa
1. You can not send photos to Picasa direct frorm the gallery anymore, most likely a Google+ thing. You can use the Picasa tool in the market do do this if you need to.
For me I have instant upload enabled on Google+, so any picture I snap on my camera gets uploaded to Google+ Photos. It is by default private so its only viewable to me.
I use the Picasa desktop tool to keep my pictures on my computer in sync with Google+ Photos. If I add any albums to my pictures folder it syncs into Google+ Photos as a private album only viewable to me. You can set different options with the tool to either upload the original picture or a compressed picture suitable for web viewing. The cool thing is is that it does not effect my 100GB of space I have with Google.
With this setup I really don't need to be uploading to many albums direct to Picasa from my phone unless someone sends me a photo through email or something. Even if that is the case I have the Picasa tool which works really well with Androids sharing features. I'm sure in the next release Google might add the abillity for the gallery to be able to view Pictures from Google Drive or Drop Box...that would really be sweet.
Galaery not syncing
As of May 27th 2012 my Nexus STOPPED syncing all my photos and I have no idea how to get it to turn back on. I have tried manual sync, turned off the account, back on.. short of removing and then re-adding.... which threatens to remove soo much I use daily... HELP

Yeah same here. I don't even get the "Instant Upload" option in the account sync settings oh my Nexus running Jelly Bean. What gives? This is honestly getting frustrating dealing with Android and all it's tiny little problems that go unnoticed here and there.
Do you mean you don't have these settings?

On vanilla android, there is an option to "make an album available offline". My only assumption that this is for linking to some cloud-storage but what is it talking about? Google Photos? Can you use that with DropBox? Is there a way to use Google Photos without having it sharing with Google+ and what not?
Making an album available offline "should" cache/download selected Google albums to your phone such that they are available even when you in airplane mode. Having said that - all my Google account photos seem to be available, whether I'm on or offline. Also, photos uploaded into Google+ remain private unless you explicitly indicate who you want to share the photo/album to among your Google+ friends/circles.
I've also noticed that my albums whether in Picasaweb or Google+ are available and accessible from either web-app.
Dropbox, from the Dropbox app, has its separate "camera upload" feature to copy your photos to your dropbox folders. Select a private folder to keep your photos private.
But how do you get the pictures to Google Photos? You can't "sync" with DropBox, right, just auto upload? Must you have the photos go to Google+?

Hi Guys,
I have a bit of a strange question, but it's been bugging me for days.
I use Picasa and Google+ to organise my thousands of photos.
When I take photos on my camera, I'll upload them onto my laptop, organise them in Picasa and then sync to web so that the album appears as a Google+ album. If I then later add any photos from my phone to the album (auto-uploaded from my Nexus 4) they automatically get synced to my Picasa album on my laptop. Everything works perfectly.
However, should I create a Google+ album directly from my auto-uploaded photos from my Nexus 4 i.e. I don't have any photos on my camera so don't use Picasa to organise anything. How do I get the new album to sync to Picasa so I can view it on my laptop and see it with the rest of my photos offline?
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance!
Is there any way to stop the phone from creating so many albums? I have Camera, downloads, Snapchat saved photos, Instagram, vscocam, messenger etc....ideally I'd just have one album in chronological order of photos. Can this be done?

The app redirect in the play store MIGHT be able to do that but you realize its pretty much the apps themselves that are creating those folders, not the phone. I run none of those extra apps and I only have Camera, downloads (which is a standard android folder) and screenshots.
