S-800 (LTE) devices have Qualcomm modems. Exynos devices have Motorola modems. The radio s/w you installed with the LTE ROM isn't compatible with your 3G radio. That's why it's borked.

hmm if the modem not compatible then why calling function is working ?
and there is no way to solve this problem ?

I have no idea why calling's working. The way to solve the problem is going back to a P-601 ROM. Throughout XDA they are posts from people that have borked their devices using Wi-Fi, 3G, or LTE ROMs interchangeably. They aren't interchangeable.

[Q] Upgrading radios

Just wondering, my radio for the most part works fine. Having some WiFi connectivity issues here and there (connection drops lots of packets after a while and it's better to revert to 3G) but that could be rom-based as it's a recent thing. Other issue is the phone takes far longer than my old N1 to pick up signal again after being underground (often have to switch on/off airplane mode) and this has been this way since day 1
In any case, they are minor issues, but I hear that updating radios can really unlock a lot of the phones data speed and battery potential.
So the question is how do I go about it? Is it just a matter of flashing the latest radio? Right now I have baseband XXLF1 (out of the box) and I've been looking at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34045210 as the latest version, how do I know if it's compatible with my particular device?
Moreover, all of these basebands seem to have CWM flash capability, what about TWRP?

You could have asked that question in that thread.. But latest European gsm radio is XXLH1, and yes, those zips should be compatible with twrp.

So will it work fine with my phone which is on AWS spectrum? I know Europe uses different frequencies. Sorry for the newbie question, I'm just nervous about bricking my phone.
Is it safe to flash a takju radio over a yakju device?
Also can't figure out what RIL is?

What carrier are you on?
It's not a newbie question, and I'm not sure it will work with AWS, but it should as it's just a subset of UMTS.
Yes, takju radios are the same as yakju radios
RIL = radio interface layer

As i own a gsm model, I didn't know for sure. But like I stated, AWS uses a subset of the UMTS bands, so it should work.

I'm on WIND mobile in Canada, same spectrum as T-mobile US. If the phone is already on XXLF1, is it safe to say it will be alright with XXLH1? Aren't they both for the same devices?
Moreover, if something goes wrong with the flash (incompatible model or so) is there any recourse?

Yes. Compare md5sums, flash the radio through fastboot, you should be fine.

Hi OP, if you purchased your unit in canada, it is a GSM version.
XXLH1 will work, it will work on WIND mobile for sure (I am on wind too
Also the zip files will work, all TWRP and CWM are basically the same, AFAIK, all flashable zip are compatible with TWRP and CWM.
If you are unsure about which radio to flash, i would simply suggest you to make a backup, and flash the original image from google, which contains the latest radio for your device.
All images can be obtained from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Go ahead and flash Takju/Yakju, it doesnt make any difference in canada as google wallet doesnt even work here. I am on Yakju, lol.

What modem to use? Optus, N7100

Hi all,
I am using my n7100 on the optus network in Australia,
I recently flashed a new stock ROM, but now my mobile data speeds suck, and my battery life is horrible with 3g on.
I can't remember what modem I was using before.
If anyone else is using the n7100 on optus, could u please tell me what modem u r using?,
Thanks

If I helped you, please hit Thanks..
There are very few threads on this on the entire internet, so I'll answer, even though it's huge threadromancy.
XXDLK7 is the best modem for Optus networks in my experience, and I've tested quite a few. I'm on TPG.
Emergency Calls Only

Hi, I have recently been trying new mods, on the current mod my modem does not seem to be working. I get signal but emergency calls only and no data.
I have flashed the XXDLK7 modem as I'm on the Optus network on TPG but still have the same issue.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks.

At what point did everything stop working?

F180K works only with rom F180K10H_00.kdz

Hallo all,
I have a silly question for anyone has time to lose: I have a LG-F180K, the OptimusG korean version. Why can I only use the rom F180K10H?
I tested several configuration and official roms, mixing my backupped baseband and roms, official OTA. but my phone works ONLY with F180K10H.
For example with the others official LG's rom mobile network doesn't work (I can't make calls!!), wifi works. Restoring the baseband (img) works mobile network but wifi not.
I tested the official upgrade F180K10H->F180K20C/G/I without success.
Ideas?
same here
i had exactly this issue.. did you find any solution? thanks!
For now I'm on ICS. Unfortunately I didn't find the reason, but I think it is the baseband...

[Q] N5105

Hi,
In my country, only N5105 is being sold. I think this is the 3g+LTE model. But I can't see anything about it on the forum.
Does anyone have any info about it ?
For example, can I install N5100 firmware on it ?
also, this one does not have a phone application. Does N5100 have phone app ?

If im not wrong, these are the devices:
N5100: 3G + WIFI (with support for calling / sms)
N5105: 3G + WIFI {without support for calling / sms)
So, you should be good with flashing a N5100 ROM, its the same case with the N8000 and N8005. But I cant confirm anything.
I believe it's a little different than N8000 and N8005 because in N5100 and N5105 case N5105 is a LTE device.
so the hardware is different.
am I wrong ?
does the n5100 have phone app ?

i forgot about the LTE part, sorry about that, in that case I dont think you can, if you do, LTE may not work. The N5105 seems to be a merge of the N5100 and N5120
In Turkey there's no LTE network. so I can sacrifice that feature, if I'll get phone

Wellm if you really want to try it out. Just flash a N5100 ROM via the PDA and not the one in which you have to select everything including pit etc, also make sure there's no bootloader in there, just in case.
wait. you mean I should only flash PDA ? no modem etc. ?
are the ones in Sammobile qualify for that ?
Keep a backup firmware of the N5105, as said previously, make sure there's no boot loader in the one your flashing. You can flash the Odin ROMs in the development section of the N5100
thanks. I've learnt that I have to install baseband from N5100 as well. How can I get that ?
Does the rom include it ?

I didn't try yet. Which one is the baseband ?
Btw, N5120 seems to be a LTE model.
So I think I should use a N5120 firmware instead of N5100.
Am I wrong ?

I think the N5120 is LTE + Wifi and doesn't support 3G.
well, according to the specs at pdadb they all support 3G , but 5105 qand 5120 also have addtional LTE hardware:

am I still wrong ?
how did you find out N5120 doesn't have 3G ?

Well its a guess as I wouldn't understand why Sammy would have 2 of the same tablets with different models numbers
N5105 does not have phone features. I guess it is only for Turkey. As the tax differs in Turkey if the device is a PHoNE.
Of course i am not sure. And i don't know what to do.
is there anyone with N5120 ?
If yes,
- does it have 3G ?
- does it have phone app ?
Serious, do you really really really need to make phone calls on this 8 inch phone? It looks very big.
ok; let me tell you the situation and you decide;
I have 2 mobile lines from 2 operators.
one line is used commonly and it is in my S3.
the other one is mostly not used. Just few old friends call it.
I will put this line on the Note 8.0 and answer calls (if any) from that device. Otherwise I have to carry another phone.
you see ?

Help me with this weird s3

Its a sprint s3 from FreedomPop with their weird rom. Can I use this phone on another carrier? Do I need to flash a different firmware or ROM?

rwilco.com has some solid links for the tar.md5s. I bought a prepaid sch-i545 (verizon s4) and it had its own weird rom for it, even said a different build # in the about phone section. I flashed the stock i545 rom in odin and its now a regular vzw S4. The same will likely hold true for the L710

Phone works perfectly now. Flashed nj2 with Odin. Then flashed a recovery and wicked s5 2.2. thanks.

are you able to get LTE with the aicp ROM also on the wicked s5 2.2 when it says 4g does that mean LTE? Also I'm trying to get one of the roms working on the sprint mnvo Iwireless.

Yes, the 4g icon does mean LTE. I'm running a ROM that my friend compiled and where I live there isn't sprint LTE and I'm using a at&t sim in my phone
Is there a APN fix or something to get LTE working for aicp? So far its my favorite other than only 3g data working. Also if I switch to LTE it says in the sim status that voice and data are lte. Just no mobile connection.

Thanks for the awesome help. I think I'm sticking with wicked s5 2.2 for now. It looks like it just seems to work and has the added bonus of being able to over clock and underclock a little. Ran into a few annoying bugs in aicp that's known but not fixed yet. (No 4g and forced into speaker phone)

I'm on nd8 and I don't have any issues flashing any rom or weirdness with features not working. My daily driver is a g900p and the same issue with the most recent baseband exists there too. I'll drag my L710 out and see what's what on it. Gonna be a lil bit tho. Household stuff to attend to
oops, im on MK3!! Ive run tons of ROMs on this baseband and havent ever had an issue. I dont have sprint LTE where i live, but ive been to places where there is sprint LTE and this baseband/modem/radio version has worked perfectly. The newest baseband isnt always best
there are many posts saying exactly what you said. Just they said nj2 was working fine and ah1 baseband doesn't work well. Also I'm not sure if you can downgrade firmware after mk something.
