So, I've got a used Xperia ZQ (brazilian variant) and my mic seens to be pretty dead, tried to send to repairs 2 times, but sony probably hates me, because the problem is here yet, so I was thinking, is there a way to change the default mic recognized by android from 1st to 2nd?
(I'm running stock 4.4.2, rooted and my bootloader is locked but if needed I can do something about it)

Go into your phones Dialer and Dial *#*#7378423#*#*
Then go thru all the options it gives you, there should be a section where it test the functions of your phone. (LED,touch screen, camera, etc.)
Once you find the option to test the camera go ahead and test it. If you get no picture what so ever I'm guessing you have a faulty camera.

If you have an R800X with Verizon they offer a 1 year warranty, call them up and explain the problem, if you're within the year warranty they'll ship you out a certified like new device at no charge.

If you have no warranty and you've already tried re flashing to stock rom I'm all out of ideas....perhaps try downloading a third part camera app from the store and try using that?

Have you opened your play for any reason recently? ie has the motherboard been removed at any point?
I recently changed my digitizer and after i had the exact same problem, i found out that the camera was not properly attached to the motherboard (it was very very tricky to get in properly)
Camera now works fine
Cannot connect to "front" camera

hi all,
after updating my Xperia S to 6.1.A.2.55, I have a problem when I'm trying to call ! my screen freeze when I'm dialing, same issue for my friend with another Xperia S (both are new, and free bought directly in Sony store), when I comeback to the version 6.1.A.2.50 or 6.1.A.2.45 the problem disappears!! but after 1 or 2 days, I got the notification of update in my Xperia, and the problem comeback even if I don't update it!
so I've two questions:
if someone get the same problem, what's the solution?
if not, how can I block the update in my smartphone, knowing that I'm connected 24H on Wi-Fi.
great thanks in advance.
I don't have this problem on .55, anyway just root your phone and delete updatecentre.apk and NewSoftwareChecker.apk if you don't want the notifications. Just try flashing this ftf - http://ni.0a0.in/files/3432_kznsa/LT26i_6.1.A.2.55_SG Generic (1257-6921).zip
I have tested it and it 100% works fine. If your problem is not yet solved, just update it with PC Companion/SEUS and exchange it for a new piece with Sony.
great thanks abcdjdj; I was wondering to get a solution without rooting my device, but if it's the only option, I'll do it.
soo.

Hi, I m from Brazil
I just bought a Xperia ZQ and it s my first Sony. Can you help me with some questions?
I ve already know that I can change my carrier version by another registered one downloaded right here in xda website without root or unlock the bootloader, right?
As I m not a developer, why would I need to root and unlock the bootloader?
Where, if It is possible, can I find different skins and themes for it?
How can I know about new upates? For example, new releases of firmware or android versions?
Thank you

Its called Xperia ZL so just search it on the search for device bar. You dont have to be a developer to unlock as unlocking can give you cool roms that can be very much customized.

You get updates thru SONY and you will get a notification when you can get a update.
To see if you can unlock your bootloader go to
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions as it will tell you the directions then once you have unlocked, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2095 and find some roms. ( its a little dangerous if you dont know what your doing ) and UNLOCKING will void the warranty

If you have already unlocked your bootloader, without backing up your Drm Keys, then you wont get the bravia engine back.

I havent unlocked my bootloader yet. I just rooted (the bootloader changed unlockable yes to no), installed cwm and made a backup using cwm, saved in internal storage. Is that enough? Is this backup saved the drm keys?
Thank you

The phone is fantastic, but the battery is below average even with 3g, altough the relates i hear about SIV are even worse. Since HTC don't sell officialy in Brazil anymore, i don't trust in LG and Motorola don't have a rival for these phones i think ZQ is the best choise.
I'm a heavy user, so i charge it twice a day,but with moderate use + stamina mode i think you can get a day of battery.

It is not possible to install 4.4 ROM's without unlocking bootloader. What problems are You having while following Sony instructions?
No! Don't try install any Kitkat ROM without unlock your bootloader... Ok?...
Because you need flash the Modded Kernel maded especially to this KitKkat Android OS can work with it.. without it anything work's... And with this especifique kernel the rom dont have any random resets and bootloop =D

Ah, Since You have "Allow to unlock bootloader = No", You cannot unlock Your bootloader, and there is no possible way to unlock it. You can always try ROM built for locked bootloaders.

bluetooth problem with AOSP 4.4.4 rom
1st of all i'd like to thank everybody who worked on this project and appreciate their work and
say that it seems the blue tooth does not work well because personally i have problems with my cars
head unit (pioneer deh-8950bt) .
every thing is ok from connecting to syncing contacts but there is no voice on calls just a i can hear
something like hummm and noises.
i didnt have this problem with stock rom.
and i had a hang while was on camera for a long period without taking a photo (just once).i dont use camera usually.
p.s : having less than 10 posts does not show im an idiot !
my phone :
sony xperia acro s
kernel 96
rooted
unlocked bootloader via flash tool
rom : 4.4.4 ASOP
link to thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785450
I can confirm this problem: listening to music via bluetooth works, but not handsfree.
I checked with a Sony MW600, an Arctic P311 and a Belkin Air Cast Auto.
When trying to make a call, only strange hissing sounds can be heard.
But there's another, much bigger problem with this rom:
After a few minutes of heavy usage (e.g. some websites, navigating with GPS) the phone freezes, the screen turns a strange yellow-red color and the phone reboots. It then enters a boot loop. Only after letting it cool for a few minutes will it start up again.
This happens from 0 to 10 times a day.
Apart from this, the rom is great.
Cheers,
Johannes
bluetooth problem
Hi
I love this rom - its so fast, but i have a problem with bluetooth and my jvc car unit. When i try to call by car unit i only hear noise - nothing else. I had this problem on AOSP 4.4.3 and on 4.4.4 also.
Have you any idea what is the problem? Thanks for your reply . Your work is great.
I found a possible reason for the frequent crashes. The CPU was overclocked to 1,8GHz by default. I never changed the clock speed and only found out after installing Setcpu.
At 1,6GHz the crashes have stopped.
Is that behaviour intended or a bug?
Cheers,
Johannes
Please say me how you installed rom,I installed CWM and my phone is rooted but i can t enter in recovery mode on my acro S
