With me SS V2.16 is perfect , Try to follow the exact procedure & do the clean installation with proper Recovery as mentioned in OP. and u r done.

Help with flashing the ROM

Can I have some help for the below error please?
The recovery states:
"Error executing updater binary from zip file"
Device: Xiaomi Redmi 1S
Device Name: armani
Recovery: TWRP 2.8.3
Last flashed ROM: Mokee 4.4.4
I previously flashed many ROM's before Mokee.... Including lollipop.... Does it have any negative impact??
Thanks to take time to go through this.....

No Flashing many Rom doesn't have any impact regarding this problem.
Are you getting this error while installing rom or while updating mokee rom?

Always.....whatever ROM I try to flash including updates....I get this error.....Also is there anything with the build properties file??

First of all check the zip file that you have download (check MD5). This can be done with ES File explorer
and check the properties "File checksum" of the zip file.
If the zip file is o.k then boot into recovery and then reboot into recovery and flash the zip.(for me works
every time i had issues.)

Try to Re-flash Global Fastboot ROM using MiFlash tool (flash_all) .

I am also getting same issue while Flashing MIUI V6

First make sure if it is for ur device......
Or else, try flashing fastboot ROM......

[ 5.1.1 ][D5322] Pre-Rooted FTF

REQUIREMENT:
Stock Rom (4.4.2, 4.4.3, 5.0.2)
Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
How to:
Then download the pre rooted firmware and put them in sd card, and flash it through recovery with wipe dalvik cache and cache.

you only lose OTA and Bravia if you lose their DRM keys. But will have to undo the root to update the device by OTA.

One suggestion I have just tried out that people here might appreciate: Install official TWRP 3.0 via TWRP Manager (install from Google Play). Seems to work without a problem on my i9301i.

I had RR 5.5.8 and I flashed this version but from TWRP site - in this thread meybe is only for KK 4.4.4..
Check THIS and instal img file in TWRP is an option "flash img file" on the right bottom in menu Instal.

I think TWRP 3.0.0.0 works great even on I9300I .

How to update to marshmellow?

Hi i have a e6853 on 5.1.1, on v1 of Auras76's RomAur and i have no clue how to update i have tried update with the .ftf firmware files but it says it cant read byte size. plz help i dont know what to do!

You can flash the RomAur v4.2.1
The version is based on 6.0.1

thanks but that doesn't help. do i have to flash my phone to stock 6.0.1 or can i flash its straight over the top of v1 romaur? and what do i do about the kernel, none of this is explained in that post.

Did you check the first post of that thread. That's what I did and found the instructions for installing the rom... And in future please use the Q&A thread for these questions.

yes i did and all it says is
- HOW TO INSTALL THIS ROM ON UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER :
1 - Unlock bootloader - http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
2 - Installed marshmallow firmware if come from lollipop
3 - Install kernel for your device
4 - Install the latest twrp - thanks to AndroPlus
5 - Copy rom to ext sdcard
6 - Enter to recovery
7 - Make a FULL Wipe on aroma if come from another FW, before installing ROM
8- Install rom for your device
9 - Reboot
10 - Enjoy
my problem is i dont know how to update to marshmallow which is what my first post said.
