thanks man. Another question, if i on stock rom and custom recovery, can i flash only stock 'recovery.img' ?

Yes you can.Install "Nokia X Manager" in your PC.Connect your phone through USB.If not find your phone,then install "ADB driver".Then click only "Stock Recovery"(it will delete your custom recovery completely and install stock recovery).Finally Reboot your phone.
hi my name is Hassam Asif and this is my new thread here at XDA...
- i got Nokia X and i have rooted it.. and also installed gapps in it... currently i am on 1.1.2.2 and now i receiving an update which is 1.2.4.1 i am little bit hesitating that is it ok to update it in this condition??? and also i dont to lose root access...
please give me suggestion should i update it or not?

i have heard that in super user app there is a survival mode which prevents ur root access if u r updating ur device so is there any need of turning that option ON or i can simply update it without doing that...

I suggest u not to update via ur phone...dl the update file from the link below and flash that zip file through CWM recovery.. If the recovery asks you to fix the Superuser, let it fix it...It worked for me..Happy Flashing..

Download Nokia X Manager. Download the updated adb drivers from general section. Install the drivers. Run Nokia X Manager. Click Root and follow the instructions.

adb drivers are not installing as i have installed 64 bit windows..
and why there need to go in root menu when there is option of install cwm recovery in nokia x manager???

sorry i m taking my decision back... i have the latest adb driver installed in it..
as u have told i have clicked on root button but i was only loaded in TWRP recovery... now how can i install CWM recovery from there?? please provide me full detail cauz i m new in this rooting stuff....
( Main islamabad mn rhta hn i seen u r from Karachi )

Well, just flash CWM Recovery using Nokia X Flasher, not manager.
Download CWM Recovery from Android Development Section. And Nokia X Flasher from there too.

Download recovery.img using NCS and flash it through Nokia X Flasher.

yess this rom works for htc 820u. make sure you have latest version of twrp and already running on lollipop.
