[Q] Dead Xperia S after flashing CWM

Hi guys, i've noticed serious trouble after i've followed this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756346&page=20
To install CWM on my Locked Bootloader Xperia S.
The smartphone does not boot into system, just the logo SONY appear and after that a triangle with an exclamation mark and a phone.
I've tried to flash a stock firmware using flash tool but has not been successful, flashing process always aborted and i don't know why, i've installed the drivers from the folder flashtool/drivers, the program recognize the phone in flash mode, always seems to be OK but installation always go aborted.
Someone can help me?

If your getting the Sony logo you should be able to restore the phone using the SEUS update software http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
Hope that helps

Thanks for the answer, but i'm afraid this is not possible, SUS just UPDATE the firmware and doesn't RESTORE the OS, i am on the last available officiale firmware in my XS so SUS doesn't help me!

Stuck at Sony logo, can not switch off

Hi All,
I am new here & for these technical things also, but 1st of all I would like to appriciate all who made these difficult things look so easy.
Now my problem :
I have Xperia Arc, I flashed & rooted the device post that I was trying to install CM10. I also installed ClockWork Mod Ver 5.XXX.
I took backup & then I tried to install from SD card (CM10 Zip) but it gave me "Status7" error so I restored my backed up data & clicked on restart device...... from then now whenever I start the device it hangs on Sony logo, even I can not switcg it off, I have to take out battery to switch it off.
If memory serves me best I had Android 4.0.XX installed earlier.... Please suggest what to do to get my device up & running....
I again want to appriciate the people who pull out time to help others in such simpler ways ....
Boot into cwm wipe data, cache, (advanced )dalvic cache go to mounts storage format data, cache, system, next flash cm10 again. If that not work fastboot another JB kernel with cwm built in repeat above instructions. If all fails flash back to stock with a fft rom, hope that helps:fingers-crossed:

Because you have flashtool working you can either flash back to a stock rom with a ftf file found in arc forum.Or connect phone to flashtool let phone recognize phone might take two three minutes wait till flashtool says root access allowed. Then go to tools /reboot /recovery/reboot default version this should take you into cwm recovery then follow instructions in my first post.

Please see if you can provide me with the exact link & the way how to do it through flosh tool. I know I am sounding dumb but actually this is my condition right now. It seems to me you are already on .587
you might need to do the cache and dalvik
in general doing the back button should bring you to the menu
put back the battery of your phone and press the back button and see if that diplays the recovery mode from your tel from there delete cache and dalvik reboot it again wait a few minuteswhile booting and should come back to life
Raps
Looking at flashtool I thing you flashed Lti15 then tried to flash Lt18
Download this file http://uploaded.to/file/26z1n4ys this is uk arc generic GB ftf open flashtool press lightening bolt icon select flashmode choose your file you downloaded make sure you have put it in firmware folder on flashtool.Make sure cache and data are ticked flashtool will start doing its work.It will tell you to connect your phone hold down back button while connecting phone to pc a green light will come on phone, leave flashtool to do it's work. When flashtool finished it will say unplug your phone do that, now start your phone finished you will be on Arc GB :fingers-crossed:

Xperia S bootloop

Hi guys!
I have read through all Xperia S topics regarding bootloop, but couldn't find anything that actually helped so I'm creating this new thread.
Until yesterday the phone worked decently, not perfect, but it worked. All of a sudden when I try to open any app I get the message "Google Play services have stopped working" (or something similar). I thought that a restart might do the thing so I turned off the phone after which I started it. Surprise!!! I get the Sony logo then Xperia Logo, restart, Sony logo then Xperia logo, and so on.
The phone has not been rooted, and it runs the latest stock firmware (4.0.4).
I have tried repairing it with PC companion and SUS, but I get the message that the battery is not fully charged. If I plug the phone to the wall charger, if the phone is off it will just start in the bootloop and it won't charge, no LED, nothing.
I also tried flashing the phone with Flashtool, from what I can tell the flashing was successful, but the phone still doesn't work.

Before I send it back for warranty, I thought someone else might have a clue about what the hell is wrong with this phone.
Cheers guys!
Did you try turning off the phone by pressing the power and volume up button long enough until it vibrates three times. Try connecting the power cord afterwards and see if it charges.

Yes, I did try both SOFT and HARD reset. The outcome is the same no matter which one I use..
So you did nothing to your XS and it bricks
After hard reset plug it to charger for a night
(even if nothing happens let it charge whole night)
Than flash stock firmware using Update Service.

If you didn't root it or flash custom ROM, and you wrote that you didn't, I would advise you - use your warranty.
Something is really wrong with your phone, so if it's still on warranty - use that.

Hi,
I flashed CM11 (last version UNOFFICIAL) on my Xperia S, and my phone re-boots from time to time... (but not at the CM start animation logo). I don't exactly know whether I could consider this a bootloop or not...
Also it charge quite slow... hours and hours to be full charge.
Please someone to help me?
Thanks in advance.

You have unlock bootloader? If not don't install custom rom for UB . If you have UB use fastboot and flash new kernel. If you have LB use flash tool or Sony app and flash rom. If I help use thanks button.

stuck in boot loop
I flashed a wrong rom, now stuck in boot loop(i can still go into recovery), after thorogh searching i found a solution but i don't understand how to make use of the code/script...plz help, i'm desperate
Using ADB BY Samantha
DB can be used to access the phone while booting, be aware that some bootloops make it unable to use ADB since they do not go further then the manufacturer logo. (In new CWM versions it’s possible to use adb)
The only tricky part about using ADB with bootloops is that you have to do it on the right time, this is different from every device, but normally it’s after the manufacturer logo that the partitions get mounted. The easiest way to enter your phone in this part is using a batch script that monitors the state of your device and connects directly when possible.
I use this script for example, called ondemand.bat (requires adb.exe and the 2 dlls)
1 @ECHO off
2 cd /d %~dp0
3 echo.
4 echo Waiting for device…
5 adb wait-for-device
6 echo.
7 adb -d shell stop
8 adb push mycwmfix.zip /sdcard/mycwmfix.zip
9 adb reboot recovery

I have Unlock Bootloader. So, here is my question, if I flash a new kernel, Do I actually lose something like the Rom installed? I dont mind losing apps, I dont really use a lot of them.
What kernel should I flash to prevent this if I still want to stay on CM11?
Thank youuuu
(I pressed thanks bottom and I will do it again!!)

Wrong. You do not need unlocked bootloader for Flashtool.
To OP: Download again the FTF file, seems like file is corrupted.

I agree with @bejunk
the latest version of flashtool have bugs, i also face the same issue like yours but after trying to do the same for 2-3 time solves the problem.
also the drag & drop support is also removed from latest flashtool.
The older version were great with no bug.

[Q] Stuck at kernel picture when booting.

Hello everyone, I'll add some background so you can help me better.
I had a Xperia play like a year ago. It was the first device i rooted so it took several days for me to root and to install gin2kitkat ROM on it. I couldn't install a new kernel becouse before i managed to do so i dropped the phone to the floor and it got severe damaged and i lost interest.
Recently i've decided im gonna put some effort into it and ill repair the screen protector and the buttoms that broke.
So, i had a rooted device with gin2kitkat ROM with original kernel and closed bootloader. I did the bootloader thing with a tutorial i found here and i flashed the Extreme kernel using flashtools via fastboot. So i started my phone but it was in a bootloop when Extreme picture showed up and i wasnt able to make it work. I tried more kernels like Lupus and other kernels i found on this site. It happens the same with every kernel. It wont boot any further than the kernels logo. Ive tried flashing another kernel via flashmode in flashtools and i got this error:

I've tried entering the recovery mode with all the kernels ive tried pressing vol - during boot but it wont work. Also in extreme kernel and some others i got this error while booting. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6p7u6c&s=8
Yes, the device is destroyed, if i can make it work ill repair it.
THanks
