Will this work? If it wort it was only 2.99.
I already bought it because it is 2.99 from 39.99.

You can get a cheap HDMI Miricast or Intel WiDi adapter and it will work with the "Wireless Display" feature of the X.
I have an old Netgear Push2TV (WiDi device) and I've used it to stream tv episodes from my X (Xfinity TV Go App) and the quality is excellent. I've seen miricast adapters as cheap as $20.

done the upgrade and still not working, is there a special kind of hdmi cablet that archos requires as my old herotab c8 works perfectly with the cables i have?
Try the cable on another TV or monitor to confirm its not an issue with the TV you are using
the cables work with my herotab and tv so either my hdmi on my archos is broken or needs a specific type of hdmi cable
i just used a cheap hdmi cable and its working great...

Does anyone know if there is a MHL to VGA adapter that works with the SIII? I have an older monitor that I'd like to use with my phone. I'm not really concerned about sound.

The only MHL cable that exists so far is the official Samsung HDMI.
So if you desperate to do that you'll have to spend about $30 on the cable and I don't know how much for a HDMI to VGA converter box.
You've no chance just now. Maybe some day!

No.
This is my problem also since I never know when I will have to connect to my phone to an old analog projector to make a presentation.
If your monitor has dvi then you can get a hdmi/dvi coupler which very cheap. A hdmi to VGA converter is about $38 from monoprice.
I'm thinking of experimenting and getting the mhl to get hdmi, a hdmi to dvi coupler, then a dvi to VGA coupler. The couplers are all less than $3 and I have to buy the mhl adapter anyway.
Good luck to us!

in theory, that should work fine, but what is your plan for audio?
Just go straight for the HDMI to VGA converter because that has the audio out and gonna be more use than DVI.

Just use a pin jack to RCA left/right and plug to headphone jack. Arrgh, too many cables to bring around. At least with my iPod or iPad I can just bring their dock to hdmi adapter or dock to RCA adapter video/audio.

$38 is a bit too much for something that I may use two or three times a year. If my "daisy chaining" couplers/adapters doesn't work then I'll just have to bring my iPad as backup.

Hey guys.... i was thinking (and googled--> unsuccessfull) that if there is any device OTHER than the HTCs Media Link HD that does the same job and is cheap on price too ?
I just want to be able to play video games on my HD LCD without connecting wires as its Not a Smart TV
I tried to find a similar equipment, but without success. Even Media Link doesn't seem to work that well.
But Huwaei Media Player might be what we're looking for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d43eVAtr5hc
How about this method works?

Wait for 4.2 on One X and pray that miracast works. If it does, it'll solve all streaming issues.

HDMI carries both audio and video signals. While using a MHL adapter you have to connect charger to the charging port available in the adapter/cable.

Has anyone had any luck using an a Micro USB to HDMI adapter?
I am trying to get my adapter working with the Optimus G Pro but having no luck. It does work fine with my Galaxy Note and my brother's Droid Razr Maxx HD. I read an article stating that MHL does not work with this phone yet the specs that are advertised state that the micro USB connection supports MHL.
Any input would be great.
Thanks.
If you're using the mhl adapter, that's the problem. No need for mhl at all.

What do you mean?
Am I correct in saying that the only way to view your home screen and games on the big screen is to use the miracast device or an MHL adapter? I can already view videos wirelessly through DLNA but I want to do more than just watch media.

OGPro doesn't support mhl. Straight USB to HDMI is what u need.
MHL adapter won't work. You'll need a SlimPort adapter, which is much more expensive.
Thanks Guys I'll get one and try it out.
I've been trying to figure out how to mirror my Nexus 7's display to my standard TV. I believe I need a composite cable to do this. Is there any way I can directly output from the Nexus 7 to composite? Or do I have to go Nexus 7 > HDMI > HDMI to Composite Converter > TV? I'm just searching around for the cheapest possible solution, thanks!

Yeah i know what are you trying to do, but actually the only way to get wired audio/video signal is to use the slimport adaptor. (With wireless you would use Miracast but this isn't your case) So in your case you must use the slimport, the hdmi to composite adaptor and i think you should be good.

It would work fine with every device that support Slimport, newer devices do like LG G2, G Pad 8.3, Nexus 5 and so on. But you should check on the specifications of your devices. Before Slimport productors used to support MHL, which is almost the same but it keeps busy the USB port and on display that doesn't support MHL you should even buy an adapter which even needs external power supply.. if you can see on the Analogix Slimport adaptor you got a microUSB and the HDMI, the first is just for using it as the device one and HDMI for streaming. I was reading that Slimport has some limitations about the length of the HDMI cable, something like that it needs to be not longer than 50 centimeters otherwise you'd encounter problems..
Anyway i think that the Slimport adapter that costs just 15 bucks will be great.

Alright, looks like the SlimPort isn't going to work with the Samsung devices. Is there a cheap alternative so I can switch between Nexus 7 and the other devices? Specifically the S3 and S2 (Epic 4G Touch)

I think the only way is to use Wi-Fi Direct/DLNA. If you're gonna cast your screen just for viewing youtube, netflix and stuff like that, you could use the Chromecast, which does that particular job. It can't cast the entire screen but movies, audio (and other DLNA stuff) and compatible apps (you need to see on its webpage) can right now. To cast the entire screen you would need the Miracast technology but i don't know if there are any good dongles on the market that permit to do that as chromecast does. I hope you know what I mean, i'm not a native english speaker
You should take a look at the Chromecast if that can do what you need, or you can see Miracast dongles like this but i can't suggest anything
OK, I'm trying to do the same. I bought a slimport adapter and a HDMI to composite adapter. My N7 works just fine from slimport to HDMI to the TV, but doesn't work when I add the HDMI to composite adapter. However, if I hook my cable box through HDMI to the composite adapter, all works well. So its something from that slimport out of the tablet to the other adapter. What I'm trying to do is get the display mirrored in my van for the kids and the van only has composite inputs. I'm at a loss.
