Usually every time I exit a application that demands a lot likes games and emulators I get a error saying "com.android.systemui has stopped working" and when I click "Ok" it locks my phone so I have to unlock it again and opens the same application in portrait mode even if the same application is forced into landscape. This started happening for no reason I know. I'm using ViperOneM8 1.7.1 Rom and Elemental-X 0.19 Kernel. I think it may be something with the installed apps I have. I've just uninstalled SoftkeyZ to see if It would fix it because everything Else I've uninstalled has not worked. I have re flashed my stock backup and the same version of ViperOneM8 twice and still persist to be there. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Hi,
I'd like to start off by saying that I've flashed my Desire numerous times and it works fine, but I recently flashed my brother in law's and it's been acting up.
I followed one of the noob guides (root, s-off with alpharev) and put bravo_alphaspl-cm7r2.img on the phone.
I then flashed CM 7.1 (and also a bunch of other version). The flashing works fine. I reboot and when I go to rom manager and click on download roms it gives me the error message: The application ROM Manager (process com.koushikdutta.rommanager) has stopped unexpectedly.
Also if I flash google apps from recovery it flashes fine, but it crashes in CM.
What's I've tried:
-reflashing
-davlik
-fixing permissions
-redownloading all the files and reflashing (including md5 check)
I can't remove rom manager and reinstall it since it won't let me remove it.
Any ideas what I can do to fix this? I searched online and there is no concrete answer. Everybody seems to be guessing a solution, but so far no success for me.
Yes this is also the issue with my Desire and the solution is to reinstal Rom manager.
This worked for me.
Cheers
Nobody needs Rom Manager. All operations can be done with other and better software (recovery, GParted). Furthermore, it causes more problems than it solves.
So just uninstall it and never use it again.
but how do you uninstall it? there is no way to remove it from applications.
also google apps crashes when installed.
nevermind...now no error message anymore. No clue why.
I did a search for this, and didn't find anything relevant. I bought this game when it was on sale for .49 and it worked great then. I have since done the full screen mod which still worked fine, and then I changed my dpi to 240. After the dpi change, the game will open, the black screen with the ea logo comes up, and then it just flashes the "checking for updates" screen over and over. Does anyone know of a way (other than changing the dpi back) to get this working? It just will not advance past the "checking for updates" screen.

Well, you could try to wipe the app data and the game sd data and let it re-setup and re-download everything... it could be downloading screen-size specific assets...

I ended up doing that before, and still had the same issue. So after reading your suggestion, I deleted everything and uninstalled the app, then re-downloaded from the play store. Now I'm just getting a "server error (5002)," which from what I'm reading is an ICS incompatibility issue. So I guess I'm waiting for them to update it.
error fix
if any one is still following this thread, i had the same 5002 error on my nexus 7. it appears to be a screen resolution issue. i found that the problem can be resolved by using a rom that has pie mode. when you try to install without it active you get (or at least i do) the error 5002 message and it won't install. when i activate pie mode which effects the screen resolution and then install the game it works fine. you can then turn pie off and it will still play. i know this only helps those with custom roms or the willingness to use a rom with pie mode like ParanoidAndroid or PACman rom. if this helps anyone.....
Well, this particular app (this and this alone out of over 60 I have installed ). If closing on me every time I try to interact with app.
It loads, and as soon as I try to touch the screen, I am thrown to the home screen. No FC message, nothing. Just quit to home.
Tried it on clean install on Insert Coin ROM 6.3.0 with franco kernel. Also tried restoring TB.
Still same. Anyone facing this issue with other ROMs?
It's working fine for me.
OK fixed the issue.
Zipaligned all apks manually and it started working.
I am using slimkat 4.4.2 and there's a button to the right of the homebutton that usually opens a popup where i can see other apps that i have opened but after a while it stops working and gives me this error: com.android.systemui has stopped working and after that the UI disappears and restarts itself. Any ideas?
This is the most recent post relating to this issue, so here it goes.
I've been having this issue with CM11 and more recently with Pac man, I've tried many nightlies on both ROMs with the same result, "com.android.systemui stopped working" then the screen goes into a loop, the only way to get is to work again is by doing a factory reset and starting over, I've also tried flashing the same ROM and other variations in the order of installing everything again, same deal.
This really got to me so I've spent most of the day re-installing everything from scratch, one application at a time, and making a nandroid each time, until I installed Google+, once installed, it goes into a loop (as above), so I reverted back to the previous backup, and just to prove that it was Google+, I did it again , same deal, restored again, and installed all my apps except Google+, and I've had no issues. I've read across heaps of other places where they mention the problem is relate to something trying to make a change in the status bar, or related, well, I've noticed that without Google+, the top left profile icon doesn't update with my Google profile (as per my other set up in other incarnations of CM11 and Pac man nandroids),, so could there be a link where Google+ is causing this problem as it tries to update the profile?
I flashed the Wolla v2.5 MRA58K.H6 with TWRP and had some questions/issues. The camera kept on force closing, even though on other apps it worked just fine. I occasionally have a "android system has stopped working" warning as well. Also, I was expecting the full wipe to wipe all the internal storage as well, but I don't believe it did?
Wanting to install the newest ROM but wondering if there is a way to easily back up all apps and such - it took a long time to get it up and running at this level and don't want to go through it again. Thoughts?
Try using Titanium Backup to back up your apps and data. Personally, I use a combination of SMS Super Backup for my SMS/Call logs and Titanium for my apps.
I'm using Wolla v3.5 GPE right now and everything is great except for some strange reboot/bootloop every time I open up Snapchat. Uninstalling the app seemed to have solved the issue, but I still want to be able to use it... It's probably to do with the new camera API.
I'll give that a try. What's the difference between 2.5 & 3.5?
Updated to 3.5 and wiped it all.
Everything is working well except the system will not let me install chrome, why I do not know. I've tried downloading from the app store, both normal and beta, and every time it force closes. I've tried having it install from on my computer through google play and it force closes. I've downloaded the apk and allowed install from unfamiliar sources and it will get to the install page, and say app not installed. What gives?
Also, it seems all of my internal folders have been wiped clean - this means when I open the M8's internal storage on my computer, there are no folders; no download, no dcim, nothing. Any advice on what's happening here?
Solved both issues using [this solution](http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684384). Internal memory was set to read only.
