[Q] Audio quality when recording video - LG Optimus G Pro

Hi, I'm using the latest KitKat 4.4.2 E988 ROM on my LG G Pro E988, and when I try to record video, the audio is not consistent. As in the audio will suddenly become soft, then normal again, then soft, then normal again, the soft.. you get the idea. Anyone facing that?
I used the stock LG Camera and Google Camera (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera), but both also have the same problem. I suspect it might have something to do with the noise cancellation?
I record the video to built-in storage, and I still have space left.

Quiet microphone in Snapchat

Hi there
When recording videos with Snapchat, the sound is way too quiet. When using other apps like voice recorder or the camera app, it works fine. I also recently replaced the battery cover
I suspect the issue is something regarding which microphone Snapchat uses. Maybe the the mic doesn't function properly without the noice cancellation mic, which Snapchat may not utilise etc.
Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know how to fix it?
heres some more info on the problem: snapchat only records audio with the top mic on this phone, which is probably supposed to be used for noise cancellation. this issue is not apparent in all non-sense roms, like cm10.2 and aosp based romps; the mouthpiece mic is used to record audio so the audio works fine. but then in custom roms the camera profile is different, so it is not possible to record 10 second videos in snapchat. it stop recording at about 6 seconds. heres more info on the 2nd issue: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-2343.
Thanks

Heey .. I've the same problem with my HTC ONE X ... this is what I dislike about Android in general, each phone has its own running kinda system, yet all android apps are the same in every device despite the differences.

Recording audio quality?

hi guys,
I was wondering if you guys who allready got the G3, could test the audio recirding quality,
what I mean is, G2 has a problem with noise cancelation microphone, and very often (allways) video recording sounds distorted, like underwater, cutouts, blanks, etc etc. '
is that problem still persistent with the G3, as the camera module is the same, so nto sure if they used the same microphones as well..?
please get back to me with this, I know that the majority of users wont notice this while playing recording on a cell phone, but when you play ot on a tv or laptop, the issues is very very big
seriously, no one has G3?
The audio recording in my opinion is great.

There is another thread on here somewhere with regards to this, sorry I don't have the link.
I haven't tested it yet myself, waiting for an opportunity to be in a loud club or something to give it a whirl.
Also search YouTube there may be some videos on there by now.

[Q] Camcorder one channel audio (no stereo in video recordings, top mic low volume)

Hi,
I have very annoying issue in my Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
I'm running LiquidSmooth 3.1 (4.4.4 KitKat) ROM.
Cutting to the chase, when I'm recording video (through stock app or google camera from Play store) my phone records right channel audio very well (bottom microphone). Unfortunately audio recorded by top mic (left channel; camcorder mic) is very looooow on volume.
Example: I record a video, then I upload it on my computer, starts playing it - I can hear audio in right speaker, left one seems totally quiet. When turning volume up to the max, I can hear audio in left speaker but it's still very quiet.
I thought it's just video recording problem, but I tested it with Easy Voice Recorder Pro - when recording mono, everything is fine. When recording stereo - same issue as while recording videos.
Does anybody encountered same issue? Is it software issue, maybe whole ROM related? Or is it hardware issue?
Thanks

Well, not especially rom related, but all AOSP, CM etc. seem to have those sound issues atm. If it is important for you, consider a TW rom.

Okay, thanks for answer.
Is it happening to everyone or just some unlucky people?

It is very common issue for all users, as I said: atm=at the moment. Even phone calls can suffer from mic troubles.
One important thing: It might be solved already lately or in the next hours or days. Read in the threads

Audio problem

Does anybody have any issues with the audio recording of camera? It's like trying to muffle background noises but end up recording everything in like a metallic sound... sound is really horrible. It's not the speakers because audio from videos and music is fine. It's just when the phone is recording audio. Audio while calling is also okay.
I'm on latest update of havoc (Q). The issue wasn't there when I was on android 7 (custom roms) problem came up after I updated to higher/later roms and it's not rom specific since I have been jumping from 1 rom to another.
Maybe it's a hardware problem already?
Thanks.
Additional info: it is not a hardware problem, i have tested to record a video with open camera app and when I change the audio source setting to "unprocessed" i get better audio quality but the volume is quite low... So maybe there is a bug with switching to different receivers, but instead it keeps using the noise cancelling microphone. Or its processing the audio to cancel the brackground noise and improving voice instead...
Pls help if anybody has a fix for android 10...

Microphone output in video recording is a horrible buzzing noise on custom ROM

Hello! I'm a little new to custom roms and stuff (the only experience I have in custom ROMs is flashing Android 13 on a Galaxy S3),I hope it's not a big deal.
I've been having this weird issue on custom ROMs (I've tried crDroid and Pixel Experience so far) where video recordings output a horrible static and buzzing noise.
This ONLY happens while the camera is in use. Voice calls work completely fine.
I've tried different camera apps, Open Camera, I've tried GCam, hell, even Snapchat does this.
A video is attached below.
Your browser is not able to display this video.
I might try flashing back to stock to see if that fixes it, I really hope I don't have a hardware problem.
Thanks in advance
