Is there any Rom development for the T800 going on besides the 2 roms that seem not to be being updated any more. I just got tablet 2 days ago and am planning on rooting right after return window in 2weeks if I can determine if anyone plans on developing for this tab. Most of the activity seems to be for the 8.4 version.. I have the 10.5 32gb Wi-Fi version. I hope some developers will be developing for the 800 besides the 700. ... I think I posted this in the right section.. Thanks for any feedback on this. Hoping lack of activity is because tab is fairly new..:fingers-crossed:.
Just bought mine today, I am hoping for same thing.

Yes I have seen that activity has picked up in last few days. Happy to see it. My question has been answered lol:victory:
I got mine about a week ago and I love it but I'm craving AOSP one of the guys has a working build of CM for the 8.4 and a few guys have taken that and modded it themselves for the 10.5 and it mostly works, so there is hope. The tablet only came out last month so its still pretty new.
Curious to see if dev will take off, due to the hardware Samsung used.

Almost 2 years ago, I had an HTC Inspire. Earlier this year, I moved up to a Galaxy Note II..got it rooted and have been loving it ever since.
However, I'd really like to find an app like Boot Manager. I bought the app when I had the Inspire, but it does not work on the Note II. I tried emailing them...a month ago and no response. Now, reading the reviews, it seems they stopped updating it and just let the app die. Are there any other apps out there similar to Boot Manager for Note II?
I tried asking in the Q&A....129 views and 0 responses.
There isnt anything like that for most phones. Best you can do on the note is dual boot

Thanks hun, I may try that soon....after I find 2 ROMs I absolutely love
I'm guessing all the bad reviews woke up the BM devs because they updated their description:
"We apologize for letting this app die we became very busy with other works, however, starting today (November 7th) we have began to work on this project again. We plan to update soon and will be working on the following: support for Galaxy Nexus JB, and Samsung Galaxy S3 support. If you would like to suggest other points to work on follow us at @init2winitapps on twitter and mention us to contact us."
Which is good news for those people but bad for the ones not on the list....ah well...it was a $3 app that served it's purpose.

burg is a brand-new boot loader based on GRUB. It uses a new object format which allows it to be built in a wider range of OS, including Linux/Windows/OSX/FreeBSD, etc.

I noticed this on Sprint's RDF feed for their devices:
Code:
<prf:SoftwareNumber>T217SVPUBNC9</prf:SoftwareNumber>
<prf: OSVersion>4.4.2</prf: OSVersion>
So it appears that the T217S will get 4.4 in the next couple of months.
I think only u.s version will get kitkat

For me it's been a while away from the non iphone scene, I happened to wonder if I could upgrade my Tab3 7" today and was reading plenty of news about it being available soon (from articles posted in February). A quick poke around and it seems that it's not released yet and I figure I may as well ask since I don't know.
What's the release schedule around these things usually like? IE how long from "announced" to actually available?
Is the firmware for Tab devices geo-specific? IE is the Australian launch different to the US etc?
(I understand for the phones it's likely to be very carrier dependant)
I think that's all for now.

If you have a Sprint Tab 3 7.0, then expect an update somewhere between now and two months. That is just a guess but that is how firmware for my Galaxy S3 has worked. Sprint updates the RDF feed and then about two months later it gets released.
For other Tab 3's, no idea.

Samsung is notorious for being one of the worst manufactures out there when it comes to updating their budget products. I wouldn't hold my breath on a April release, I expect the Tab 4 to be available for purchase before you'll see it. The Tab 3 7" will also probably be the last one to get it and will most likely be the last major update you will ever get, I would bet money on it. I'm actually surprised Samsung is even updating the Tab 3 7" as their track record for releasing new Android versions for their cheaper models is not good. Yes, the update is carrier specific for the LTE models and won't see the light of day for at least a month or two after the WiFi models are updated, if at all.
In the future I would stay away from Samsung's budget line, it's already been a year since version 4.3 was released without it ever reaching the Tab 3 line and now almost 6 months and counting for 4.4.2.
To be fair I only got this device to run torque pro in the car (which is does just fine). As an appliance it's great! Now I'm just tinkering because I'm bored
Although I'm also temped to trade in the iPhone for an android based phone and while I understand it's low powered this was going to be a taste of the new OS I'd be getting.
i bought tab 3 2100 since i needed a 7 inch tab with phone capability, my first choice was any google tab but there is no phone capability in them so therefore i bought it.. and i think Samsung wont give kitkat update unless they release tab 4 with kitkat ... this is their way of making money !
Hey Peeps,
I have been an Android user since Nexus One itself but never stumbled upon a phone without any ROMs except this one. Am I missing out something? Why aren't they in development?
Please do let me know if they exist cause I was thinking about taking the initiative of making one.
There are no roms under development I think so..... So u should go for it ??

What the good news this morning... go for it dude! we'll support you... and don't forget for LTE model also...
I think so. No AOSP Rom for Note 3 Neo up to now although its was issued 4 months ago . I like the design, S-Pen, battery life, price and its performance but I have never seen any hi-end deviced before with no both custom ROM and recovery like it (N750 - hl3gxx).
I think we have to wait or study to build myself . I have just bought a second-hand Nexus 5 to feel 4.4.3 Rom beside N750.:laugh:

Hey.
I've been lurking in this section for about a week now, and from what I can see, people mostly have positive things to say about this phone.
I purchased, from eBay, a Hydrogen model and have constant stutters and lag in the UI/animations.
I have continued to experience this after flashing the "unofficial" Cyanogenmod 13 ROM.
Is it just me? Am I doing something wrong? Really love the massive screen on this thing and don't want to have to return it...
Thanks.

Can't speak for MIUI but the only CM13 versions I don't have that problem are the two earliest ones v2(6-14-16) and v3(7-5-16) from the guy who left us. All later ones have it on my hydrogen... So yeah you are not alone.
Maybe it's that slow Snapdragon 650. You should've bought a Helium.
I bought one of the first Mi Maxes that showed up on ebay right after china oficial release... Couldn't wait for helium...
PM me one of your cores and we'll have seven each... lol
I've been given my brother's old phone, a Galaxy S4 Mini SCH-I435 Verizon running 4.2.2, and wanted to see if there was any development at all happening for this specific variant of the S4 Mini. it shares the same hardware as the serranoltexx variants, but I haven't found conclusive proof of this particular model having any sort of recovery or custom ROMs. I've rooted the phone and disabled KNOX just fine, I just need to know where I'm supposed to look from here.
I have a Moto Droid Razr as my daily running the LineageOS 20171110 14.1 build at the current. this sort of thing isn't new to me, I'm just reaching out for possible definitive answers to this plight I'm in. 4.4.2 is *not* acceptable to be using on a phone in this day and age. Has anyone ever actually gotten one of these to work properly with the serranoltexx ROMs? I know they share the same hardware, but I'm more worried about bricking the phone than I was doing it with the Razr since that has endless information about it out there, yet the I435 information, if any, is flooded by model name for the international LTE variant of the same base hardware.
Thanks in advance for any info anyone may know.
An edit: I've found actual proof that the bootloader is locked. the S4 from Verizon and AT&T also had this issue, and it turns out that the developer of Safestrap for my own daily-driver Razr, @Hashcode, also made one for the Verizon S4 non-mini. This excites me, yet pains me, as I don't think the two are hardware-compatible, meaning one would have to be made up somehow for this phone. Sadly, I think interest in the Verizon variant of this phone has dwindled to nothing. I'd love to have an AMOLED LineageOS device available to me that actually has more than a gig of RAM.

There are plenty r890/i435l boards on sale over at eBay. If you look hard, this mod costs 15 bucks +/-

Could you explain this for me?
I too have a SCH-i425 that I've been using since it was released. For the last year or so I've been using it exclusively to accept Square payments but recently Square changed their app so it will not work on pre-android 5.0 versions. My phone is 4.4.2. I'm hoping to upgrade it to 5.0 so I can continue using it as I've been otherwise I have to buy a new phone which I really, really, do not want to do.
Thanks so much!
