[Q]Will unlocked Verizon LG G3 work on T-Mobile? - T-Mobile LG G3

I have an S5 that I'm about to trade for the LG G3, however, the guy is using it on ATT and claims it's originally from Verizon and is unlocked, hence, why it's working on ATT.
My question is, will this device work on TMobile? I live in Miami, FL if it matters.

I would recommend sell S5 and buy T-Mobile branded G3, or trade for one. You can do either on swappa.com.

If its Verizon branded then it should be unlocked in which case yes any GSM carrier. I'm pretty sure all new Verizon smartphones are global these days.

All LTE Verizon phones released in the last few years are gsm capable and can work on tmob and at. The S5 can also. Just need to switch to global and for data add the correct APN settings

Best buys "exclusive'

So I have T-Mobile here as well as my girl. I'm getting mine from T-Mobile 1week from know when its available on T-Mobile. My girl wants the golden one but HTC shafted T-Mobile by not making it a best buy exlcusive who has no deals with T-Mobile. My question is if an at&t model will work on tmobile if anyone out there has tried or are they carrier locked?
Most likely not unlocked imo.

I can tell you that the Verizon model is unlocked and will work with LTE and HSPA+ on T-mobile but only HSPA+ on At&t...

Finally am going to HTC after years of Samsung :D

After years of having Samsung phones I could take no more. They are now awful. Locking down their phones and TW is so bad. I just ordered my new HTC M8 developer edition for AT&T. I can't wait. A bit pricey, but no-contract/unlocked phones are the way to go. After years of rooting my Samsung phones, I actually have no desire to root my new M8; however, its nice to know that my bootloader is unlocked if I decide to go that route.
So - anyone of you using the developer edition on AT&T in the states? How is it? Does it require the input of AT&T's APN for LTE. Is LTE reception good?
Would love to hear more from those who recently abandoned Samsung.

Hi I'm using the unlocked version (it has the same radios as the developer editions). I am on Cricket (AT&T's pre pay service) and LTE is fantastic. Works out of the box as advertised.
I am in the San Diego area...
Hope this helps.

Thanks. Cricket is GSM based now? So your using band 17 for LTE?
Yes the New Cricket is all GSM, and uses all the AT&T towers for LTE, 3G and under. It is like getting AT&T without a contract, and for a lot less. I got my nano simm online from their web site, you avoid a 25$ activation fee a store will charge.

Developers Edition

So I was talking to a Samsung rep at a Best Buy and she told me they may release a Developers Edition of the Note 4. I Googled it and see confirmation that there will be a Developers edition and that it will be sold through Verizon but not subsidized to any carrier. It should be released mid-November and cost around $660.00 Full Price.
That being said, does anyone plan to get the Dev Edition in order to Root/ROM? I am still rocking my Galaxy S3 but may end up going with the Note 4 so long as it has full Root/ROM.
I already have a note 4 but i might...Is it going to be able to use AT&T's 4G LTE? or only H+?
It seems that it's going to be a Verizon exclusive and will stay that way... I guess that it could be unlocked but Verizon phones have no simcard right? So I assume it would never work with AT&T

Verizon uses sim cards now too. They use it for their 4g. If a verizon phone is unlocked it can be used on AT&T but usually only with H+. I just didn't know if there was a different case with this one. Why is verizon getting all of the good phones? Droid turbo and now this?
I'll probably wait until it does release to see if its compatible with AT&T but I definitely require it to be LTE and not just H+. Hopefully it is a fully unlocked device with all of the bands needed to work with AT&T.
If that's true I might even sell mine to get it
It's for Verizon only. They use a different LTE it's CDMA based so will be no help for ATT users. If you want to get one for ATT you need to have everyone blowing up their twitter Facebook etc to get one released.

T-Mobile iPhones are not unlocked if purchased directly from T-Mobile. If you purchase iPhone from Apple in the T-Mobile variation (which is the same model as the Verizon version), it will be unlocked.
So I'm like 99% certain the S6 does not come unlocked from T-Mobile, like all other T-Mobile phones.

No, absolutely not unlocked. Actually a bunch of threads on the subject already... the phone is currently unlockable unless you are a LONG standing t-mobile customer

Unlocked TMobile on Verizon?

Sorry if this has been discussed, couldn't find it in search. There are a couple unlocked tmo phones available locally for a bit of a discount, and I'm wondering if there are any significant issues with using one of these phones on Verizon?

I've always used a carrier model, but there's been times I've used Verizon on T-Mobile. They were primarily iPhones.

I have an network unlocked At&t Note 8 that i just configured for VZW using its APN settings and it did not work. The At&t models have the same if not more radio bands than VZW so im not sure what the problem is.
The At&t Note 8 need to have CDMA radio inside in order to work on Verizon.
New galaxy's have a universal modem but will have parts turned off. If the phone is unlocked you can flash the correct modem or the unlocked forward and it should work.
