Hi,
Sorry if this question has been asked before. I bought a new HTC m8 a week back after selling my m7(it was totally worth it). Yesterday, I got an notification about the availability of android 4.4.3 update.
My question is, is it really worth upgrading to 4.4.3 or am I better off waiting for Android L?
Thanks in advance!

I'm using the update already. And yes it's worth it as there are some security issues which have been fixed! And there is a file manager added by HTC to access full write privilege for internal an external sd card

It has just roled out to a very few users for testing purposes. I installed it from a TWRP backup I downloaded after going S-Off and changing CID to HTC__102 (WWE).

I closed the thread since there already is a thread devoted to this discussion. Please see the link in the post above.

Root using unrevoked
S-off using iso from alvpharev.nl
I think that a good Rom is ownheredesirehd
Just Google how to do it all or look on here, there are so many forums for everything that there's no point in explaining it all,
If you have any questions that you can't find a forum for, just reply to this

Currently you have to be on 4.2.2 in order to use rumrunner to gain s-off. Sounds like we'll have an updated method soon, though.

Nope. Unless s-off there is no way to downgrade short of a jtag

I'm not sure when the new method of s-off will be available, but your best bet would be not to take the 4.4 update from Verizon since you can't downgrade like the previous post mentions.

Right, if you're on 4.3 you're stuck for now. It will posted in the Original Android Development section when it's ready. The instructions for the method will be in the thread when it's posted.

I had a similar problem. Just get into a live chat with a customer service rep and say the phone hasn't been working properly since the update. They ship out phones with 4.2.2!

It won't be long until we get s-off for 4.3. I did the replacement thing, but the phone had gaps and didn't line up...had the camera issue too. I sent it back. I'd rather have my original phone over a refurb. Just my .02 though.

In case you haven't seen it by now, the new S-Off program is called firewater, and you can follow them on twitter @firewaterdevs. They have posted a video of it in action on youtube. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it is released soon.

It's tough to say... the S4 got the 4.3 update before any other carrier surprisingly. Whether or not that was just a mad push to sell more Galaxy Gear I dunno, but perhaps their updates are starting to roll out quicker these days.

Perhaps. In my eyes all the carriers are all about the $$$$$.
On the other hand you would think Verizon wouldn't make such foolish decisions such as delaying the One for FIVE MONTHS. I bet they lost tons of money trying to sell their crappy Droid lineup and failing miserably. They also delayed the S4 by about a month behind other carriers. I really don't know what goes through their head honestly. Whatever it is, it's not intelligence...

I'm not being off topic in the slightest. You've asked an extremely open-ended question with no particular response requested. I'm trying to give advice to give this thread some purpose so it's very much ON topic
You asked who's running ART, I gave my answer. You then say there's attitude where there was none. NOW there is attitude...

Just thought I'd let everyone know that the HTC website states that the T-Mobile lollipop update is finally in the certification stage. What does that mean? It means we could very well be seeing the update on our phones very soon. Sprint is said to be releasing their update today and it also has them listed as being in the certification stage. This is more than likely good news for T-Mobile users as well. I suspect we should be the second major US carrier to get the update. Unless Verizon and AT&T randomly decided to up their update game.
