Hello everyone,
Today showed up on my Gpad an update that automatically started to download.
So I thought ''if it is downloading, why don't I give it a try?''
Big mistake.
I am rooted with TWRP 2.7.0.0 and stock 4.4.2 rom..
My Gpad after I press confirm it tried to reboot. After the device shut down and try to power on, it stuck in a bootloop on TWRP.
Every time I try to power it off and then power it back on it starts on TWRP and stay there even if I press reboot on TWRP it does the same loop.
After this idiotic move of mine I would like to have help from someone who knows how to restore the device..
Also is there any way to restore the device in TWRP or to do the update manually from the file that is already downloaded in my device
(from TWRP)?
Any help would be very very appreciated!

Did you not make a back up after rooting your tablet? If so, simply restore from your backup.
generally, it is advised that before you update a rooted device's ROM, to create a nandroid backup first, just to be sure. As OTA's from non-OEM's aren't as stable as OEM's, nor do they provide warranty if you get stuck in a boot loop. To fix the issue, download your ROM image to the "root" of your microSD, go to recovery, wipe cache/dalvik cache, then try to install the ROM image. If it still fails, I'm afraid you may need to do a fresh install (wipe the device fully, before making a fresh install of your ROM.). This should fix your problem, though you loose your data. Unfortunately, thats one of the risks of modifying our devices. One that I had to learn the hard way (by hard, I mean hard brick).
At any rate, hope this helps.
Thanks for the quick reply guys!
I have not made a backup of my files.
So now I'm downloading slimkat for a little change..
(also is there a way to create a backup of my files with TWRP and restore them on Slimkat?)
[UPDATE]
I wiped cache / dalvik and then install the Slimkat ROM but the same problem persists, then I did a factory reset from TWRP
and then install the ROM, but still the same
Is there any way to unroot your device from the PC?

I don't have my tablet with me to check for you, however, I am pretty sure I found a file explorer within TWRP. Perhaps you may be able to copy from there. Explore the tool abit its quite user friendly and well made. Otherwise, you can make a nandroid backup to create a full backup of your system and try to extract from PC via WinRAR (if the backup is in tar), or some explorer app... see below for details:

Thanks for the tip, I'm sure it will help me in a future failure!
I have already done everything you said without succeeding anything ,so I'm trying to un-brick it with LG's support tool
and I can not get it to recognize my connected Gpad, so I put manually the model and serial number but still it can't see any connected devices...
Now I'm 100% stuck :/

sorry for what happened. have you tried to wipe all data, and all cache then try to do a fresh rom installation? I am not sure why LG cannot see your device. But a wild guess is its something about your recovery because its no longer stock perhaps???
if you can reach recovery, you should be able to fix the issue by wiping all the data (except external SD), wiping all cache (including dalvik), then install your custom ROM. Have happened to me already although different cause from yours but I was still able to restore it although I did loose all my data. But as I said before, its the price to pay for tinkering with our devices.
Hello guys,
Same problem for me, Stock 4.4.2 with TWRP, the OTA update make my GPad boot only on TWRP, no way to get my system back.
I try this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772902
Successful My GPad is booting correctly on Android !
Damn!! I read to late your answer, I install a couple of minutes ago the complete stock 4.4.2 V50020d from LG's support tool.
In a previous post I said I was stuck but not really.. I forgot that I have to press volume + and volume - while connectiong the USB cable to enter download mode
But everyone having the same problem with me should really give a try to what JaymZ37 said above.
Peace to everyone and thanks for your replies!

Yesterday its hapen to me the same ptoblem.......
after searching i fount the soloution and they work perfect !!!!
>>>>>>>
I saw this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/gen...load-mode.html
"What worked for me was from the TWRP terminal command to the Root folder and was type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
(they have space on ....... dd_if=/dev/zero_of=dev....... only)
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
(the same here)
then hit enter and reboot."
<<<<<<<<<
Here's the original solution given in our forum:
[FIX] Installed TWRP and now you're stuck after OTA?
And the additional command was given in this post by brentkhack:
What worked for me was from the TWRP terminal command was to type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit enter and reboot.
got help from the IRC xda-devs for the second step to complete the fix.

Oh man that worked, just about to give my tablet to gran dad and got stucked, thanks for this!
:crying: This problem started when I tried to install ResurrectionRemix Rom for the The LS980, I had a ZVE Radio on my phone, before I rooted my device, I used StumpRoot to root my phone, then after that I installed autorec to be able to use TWRP, then after that i backed up my device so that I can start flashing the Rom, so after that I wiped Dalvik/Cache/Data, etc, except for internal storage, then i install the Rom, and after that I installed the Gapps for the Rom, and after that I wiped Dalvik and Cache and restarted my device, and its now going into a bootloop, so at this point I'm still able to go into TWRP so that I can be able to restore my backup, but it wasn't there, so I went back to the Install tab and it looked different like it was less files than before, it's like the system on my phone re-wrote itself, idk, so then I went into the file manager that is in TWRP to search for my backup file, I found it along with all my other files, but I didn't know how to be able to restore it, so (I think this is were I made things worse for myself) I went to the Install Tab to install the ZVC Radio, because I thought the Rom wasn't working because of the different Radios my device had, so then I restart my phone, and now it's just a blank screen, that keeps looping, so I started searching on XDA if anyone else is facing this issue, and I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 it helped me get out of the deep brick whereas there was no recovery mode before, But I'm still in a Hard Brick whereas the LG Logo is shown for several seconds and then it says LG Security Error and shuts down and I still dont have download mode, but if I'm connected to a computer it just goes into a bootloop with the same message on the screen, so I installed LG drivers and ADB Drivers for my phone to be recognized on the computer, and the computer recognizes the device when I'm in recovery mode, but at this point I don't know what to do, and I certainly don't want to spend 150.00$ for a replacement, so if anyone can help me, I will very much appreciate it.

All non stock require zv8 radio. If your highlighted image in recovery says update by adb. You may be able to grab official zve update from sprint g2 general.
Or hit the wipe data and see if it goes to TWRP.

Which part or both fail? The wipe data to TWRP, is a shot in the dark in going to recovery. Adb side load official update was also.
I read somewhere of repairing the partitions by pushing them. I'll see if I can find that thread.

Nope, the phone's dead, I really damaged the phone's software really bad, I didn't follow the instructions correctly as stated on the RessurectionRemix Rom Thread , so I've brought this upon myself, Thankfully I've received a replacement today, but now I'm feeling iffy about rooting my phone and flashing roms again, because I don't want to go through this predicament again.
Update: Thank You for helping me try to get the device back into a functional state, I really appreciate it

Hi all long time lurker in the forums made an account today just to make this post so here I go. I was doing the OTA update for lollipop at night and it was taking a really long time so I fell asleep. I woke up in the morning and found my phone to be stuck in a bootloop :crying: looking at various posts I figured a factory reset would be my best option but it didn't work in fact it made my phone worse....It stays on the LG boot up screen for a few minutes then goes to a black screen. I went back to looking at forums again and found a post about how flashing my phone would get it working again but problem is that my computer no longer recognizes my device and fails to connect. Another option I found was to use the system recovery mode and apply update from external sdcard but when I do this I get E: failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument). I've tried 2 sdcards and formatted them both multiple times but I still get the error. I'm not sure what to do and I am willing to try anything.

This is what you have to do.
1. Take the battery out
2. Put the battery back in (dont press power button)
3. Press vol up button and connect cable (without pressing power button)
This should lead you to download mode.
If you do get download mode then follow the procedure of LGFLASHTOOL and TOT back to stock
I suggest using ZV6 tot or ZV8 if you were already on LP.
Best of luck!
After flashing the device using the link (finally got it working) it does everything it needs to do but when it reboots on my phone screen is says Factory Reset Status then it has a giant 2 on the screen so I'm not sure where to go from here. In the flash tool at the end it says
Mini OS boot check....
Mini OS status=2
Fail to set mini OS status 3

Thanks everyone!
Hi XDA, many threads here have helped me in the past so time to ask another (probably stupid) question. It's a bit of a long story so I apologise in advance.
I've been running CM (one of the nightly builds from about 3 weeks back, don't have the file so I can't say which) on my phone for a while with no issues until a couple of nights ago when it was overheating (charging while playing a game, stupid I know) so I decided to turn it off so it could cool down without taking it off charge.
The following morning I turn it back on to find that it's getting to the blue android head logo of CM and getting stuck there. First thing I do is reboot into TWRP and flash my backup from right after I installed CM. Reboot and... same result. Okay, no biggie right? Time to reinstall CM (the latest nightly build from yesterday) and Google Apps (nano package) via TWRP and reboot again. Still stuck at the blue android head logo. The reinstall was handled after using the Wipe-Factory Reset function of TWRP, as the guide here explains.
At this point I decide to do a bit of research and learn that it's called a softbrick or bootloop and apparently flashing the stock rom can fix it. The LG software suite won't even recognise the device but a friend of mine found this guide so I attempted to run through it. All goes well until it comes time for the software to connect to the phone - I pop it in download mode while putting the USB cable in, the program says waiting for connection, runs for 14 seconds and says it's trying to put the phone into download mode, at this point it fails saying the phone can't be put into download mode.
Some of the comments beneath the article offer fixes like using USB 2.0 instead of 3.0, putting the program into compatability mode for Win7 and running in administrator mode. To be thorough I tried every USB port on my machine (both 2.0 and 3.0) and run the program in compatability mode (with and without admin mode) for several versions of windows. Same result every time.
Another friend then suggests that somehow permissions got borked and it might be worth reflashing SuperSU to the system but at this point I'm at a loss for how to do that. I have the one click root script that I got from god knows where (not this one because that didn't work for me) that has a SuperSU zip in it, presumably it flashes that to the phone when it runs (found this out the hard way because I've been a moron in the past and tried installing SuperSU through TWRP and broke the boot previously, fixed by re-running the one click root script - this was ages ago before even installing CM.)
So right now I can put the phone into download mode manually, get into TWRP and use all its functions as well as connect to my PC and use ADB functions while the phone's in TWRP but can't boot into CM or flash a stock rom. Any help would be appreciated, I've spent a whole day reading guides, asking friends and clumsily trying to fix this only to get nowhere.

I haven't tried that, I didn't even know it was possible. Could you give me some more detailed pointers on how to do this? I noticed that the stock ROM I have cames as a .TOT file but CM is several files and folders in the zip. Will it install fine from that zipped up TOT file?
Thank you so much for your time.
When the rom is uploaded by the dev its also uploaded in .zip file place it ur system rom just go into twrp recovery flash the the zip file before flashing wipe cache n delvik too its easy as 1,2,3 search here on xda for ur compatible model

Hello,
i dropped my phone last night and at first boot phone clock changed and i could not connect wifi. i tried to connect wifi today but it did not worked. Thats why i opened hidden menu by using *#546368#*855# test my phone if there is a hardware problem or not. i clicked first option then second option my phone got reset but i got Secure booting error after that and it stuck. Then i opened twrp by using factory data reset option. i got backup of my data from twrp menu.
What should i do now?
Notes:
- i use twrp + android 6.0 rooted firmware
- i dont know if can can install apk since i cant open android system
- i dont want to install stock rom by a pc because i think i will lose all info on phone and ont be able to get them back without twrp.

It would be better not to flash those kdz files.
You could have asked here before proceeding, but it doesn't matter now.
For the topic that you sent,I'm not sure that it will work.
So,can enter in Download mode (Click on it to see how to enter)
