I use LastPass as probably a lot of people do to login to my apps. I noticed cliptray had taken all of these passwords that were inserted via lastpass and stored them clear text. Obviously this is undesirable. Is there a fix?
I have this same problem. I have yet to find a fix, except to clear the clippings twice a day
Thanks Guys
Not thought about this its a good security point
I assume that other phones are doing it but it may be in the background.
Can uninstall the clip tray app?
Sent from my LG G3
<nvm>
How can we disable the clip tray? What file do we need to delete?
Wow what the hell, I can't find it now! I swear I saw somewhere an additional clip tray service/app/something. :S
I'll keep looking ...
Anyone ever find a way to kill the stupid cliptray?
This worked for me.

You're a goddamn rock star. Thank you. I used Root Explorer to find and edit it. It now no longer shows up when I copy things, so I hope that means it is fully disabled and not just invisible. But regardless, it helps my peace of mind. This is really your first XDA post? Well, you are batting a perfect 1.000

Cliptray writes the contents of its paste buffers to a sqlite database, I'd guess it uses that to keep the data over a reboot. This stops being updated after patching the permission file and rebooting so I'm fairly sure cliptray is inactive, not just invisible at that point.
I should have mentioned the database in my earlier post - if you didn't clear cliptray before disabling it then whatever was in cliptray at the time is probably still in the databae so you might want to delete it - the files are /data/data/com.lge.systemservice/databases/clipdata.db*
Those files will be automatically recreated if you ever re-enable clipboard.

Yep, first one. I've got a lot of useful information from XDA - I finally found something that I can answer for a change so time to start giving back.

I'd like to create a "T-Mo MyFavs-esque" panel on the home screen. I've already used CHome to create an app launcher but if I try to set the template to contact dialer it lets me get as far as selecting the number and then crashes with an error.
Any tips?
I had this issue too. I found that it was caused by the nickname used in the contact. I worked around this issue by removing the nickname.
And that was the problem too! Without your saying so I would have never known. Thanks for the answer! It's a good thing this thread was not buried anywhere else! Otherwise you may have never seen it.

Yeah I was stoked about it at first, but this app royally blows. It's seriously NO different than opening your browser on the phone and going to docs.google.com. You still can't edit formulas in spreadsheets (a must since I do my budget on there), and the editing interface is just as bad as the web page, in that you click on a line, have to edit only 1 line at a time and have to save it after editing. Why not just let us edit the cells individually? Thanks for finally getting around to mediocrity Google.

The app is supposed to be able to perform OCR on text photographed with the phone. Anyone get this to work very well? Every time I've tried it (on different forms of source text) it just one line of the text, or a few scattered letters. Seems like it could be a handy function, if it worked.

Ah yes, that is a VERY useful thing! Glad to see that there are indeed more features. I just tried it and it's actually very good; I just scanned a page from a book, and although it has a few odd formatting problems, the text was almost perfect. Nice job Google.

Really clever and useful app.
I've only used it to hide apps on friends' Androids, once I've configured them.
They're new to Android and want the simplest experience they can get, with all the benefits.
It's a shame that you cant hide Minimalistic Text and Desktop Visualizer, and still have them run on the homescreen though. Hidden apps won't always run in the background (as warned in the app).
I hope it continues to develop - it's definitely worth al look for anyone who is not aware of it's potential.
I love the fact that it actually operates as an audio manager. Excellent disguise.
I'm using it since a few month. Save with tb. Restore after flashing a new rom. You just have to hide app again. Great app. Bugless.

hey buddy if you go on your phone and in the search you put Hide Pro that will be the first thing it will come up..download it and enjoy the app. but if you want the link just let me know and i give it to you
Been using it for ages now and its quite good, easy to use etc.
The only problem is it doesnt truly hide the pictures, files etc you want hidden. It simply moves them somewhere else with the old . trick before the folder name. Anyone who is familiar with android phones will know how to find them with root explorer.
Ive been searching but cant find an app that truly hides it. Back in the days when i was on Windows mobile 6.5, there was an app "Hide my stuff" and believe me, it did just that. Connect your phone to the PC, the folder exists but its blank in size, no files, cant unhide them etc. Only way to view them is via the app on the phone but i cant find anything on Android that hides things like that app did :-(

Dont think you follow me, dont get me wrong, ive used for 6 months easy and it is good for what it does.
What i mean is that it doesnt matter what ROM youre using, it doesnt truly hide the files you think are hidden. ie/ if i had your phone, i would be able to find the files easily so if the average person took your phone, whatever pictures you hide, arent seen in the gallery for example however its easy to find anything you have hidden if you get my drift. This is because the app moves the files somewhere else. Any file explorer can see them so its not really hidden. go to /mnt/sdcard/programdata/android/language/.fr/ and everything hidden is there so i wouldnt call that hidden lol
The other app i mentioned when i was using windows TRULY hid the file and there was no way you could ever find it unless you unhid it with the app, hope that makes sense.
I was just putting it out there if anyone knew of an app on Android that truly hides files, i havent found one yet.

Much appreciated. I hope you have better luck then me because ive been looking for ages and to date, this one is one of the better ones. The way it functions, ease of use, menu etc is great, i just wish it truly hid something.
Most on the market just put a . in front of the folder, with file explorer its easily viewed.
If you are ever bored, hide some pictures you dont want anyone to see, go to a photo shop where you can use the self service machines to print photos, put your phones SD/micro SD card in there and whatever you have hidden appears lol.
When i used this other app on windows it wouldnt appear

Il give you a buzz if something comes up..In the meantime im having a bloody rough time putting a link in my sig and its not bloody working and ihave tried everything i know
I'm using this app since the beginning. It's a great app. it had already saved my life lots of time !!!
It's really great for the money !
Hidden files are renamed in .bin, and then are moved to a "secret folder" in External_sd\ProgramData\Android\Language\.fr\ or something like that.
The add-on option is a way to lock an application. When you try to launch a protected app, you've got a force close message. in this message you choose report, then you have to input your secret code, and the app is launched...really clever solution.
Developer say that his next goal is to hide some secrets contacts from address book.
Yes man, believe me, it's a great app. hidden in a audio manager application.
PS 1: I have nothing to do with the developer. I've try lot of similar apps, but this one was the best one.
The other solution was giving by Tasker and some intelligent script to lock app and hide files. But it's more more complicated ;-)
PS 2: On the bad side, developer did not update his app for a while :-(

This one encrypts files
Try Private Gallery - Hide Pictures from market.
It encrypts files with option to hide app access via phone dialer.
Tested on Dell Streak 5.
I am using this app since 4 months.. it simply does what it says.. n it was one of the best
but the last update killed 'Lock App' feature which comes with an plugin... which is one of a kind..i love the disguised force close option.
Please tell me if this feature is still working for you'll???
Hi everyone,
I've managed to hide apps but I can't unhide them? It gives me an error when trying to do so and the app appears back in the hidden list.
Anyone else experienced this and managed to fix it?
Since the location of hiden files are stored in Phone memory (\ProgramData\Android\Language\.fr) can we move to External SD Card memory?
I often confuse with the terms "SDCARD" in file explorer, in my opinion "sdcard" is the external memory card which is purchase separately...
This app appeared on my phone without being installed. What caused this???
thanks for share:good:
I am running Jelly Beans 21, and my exchange email is black. I hate it.
I remember there was a fix for it. I can't find it.
There is a file somewhere I have to change some text on.
Can anyone help!/?
I think I recall seeing a 'toggle' for that in a file somewhere, altbough I've never run that ROM. Have you combed thru /system/csc/feature.xml? Sorry I'm not positive but toward the bottom of that file there is a section labeled 'email'.... if yours says 'black', maybe try changing it to 'white'?

AWESOME! that worked. This is what I did.
I could NOT find a single setting alowing me to change background to white. I gave ES File Explorer superuser access, closed email app and cleared cache and data. Went into phone root/system/csc. Opened features.xml using a note text editor with super user access.
Sure enough down near the bottom I saw this:
<!-- Email -->
<CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>false
</CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>
I changed false to true. Saved file. Opened email app and walla its white.

Seeing that this user has only posted 12 messages, I'm guessing this was among their first 10. Last I remember, XDA requires 10 messages to be posted by a user in order to get some kind of further permissions, although I don't remember what, although that was back on the old forum software. These days there are also achievements to get "XP" and "levels", and that might've been one.
Long story medium, the user likely posted nearly useless information to get their post-count up to 10. As his only useful comment says in the OP "no thanks". I'm not even downloading something that I don't know what I'm expecting, much less looking in the zip or doing anything else, and some of the settings accessible via the dialer code are likely dangerous unless you know exactly what you're doing, so without actual instructions detailing what the code has to do with the title of the thread, I wouldn't bother.
I'm tempted to report the thread. Normally I wouldn't bother as this kind of thread from new users is a dime a dozen but it's pretty blatantly a misleading thread title without more information, and with no description of what the file is supposed to be, and the only words in the OP being "no thanks" just screams "what the bloody hell" to me.
